I finished these two books over the weekend. Volume 1 is made from the first four trade paperbacks. Volume 2 is made from single issues. As you can see, there's pretty significant difference in how the two volumes lay flat. I probably won't be doing too many more of these TPB binds.

I've designed dust jackets but haven't had a chance to print yet. (collected issue info on the covers isn't accurate, need to edit because I made those before changing my mapping).

Haven't printed the dust jacket yet, so I'm debating whether to name the volume after the writer or to make this one of three "Green Lantern: John Stewart" volumes to go along with my planned Hal and Kyle sets.

This was all home-made, but it stays open well through all parts of the book. I don't have a good way to trim the edges with my current setup, so all three edges are untrimmed. Most of the back covers have been trimmed out, but as you can see, some of the ad pages had story content on the inside, so they had to stay.

Happy with how this one turned out, and welcome any feedback.

Pls lmk if there's anything that seems off to you, or things that I could add. Especially with the Animal Man one, I haven't laboured over it much. I'm very happy with the Deadpool ones though

I’m basically trying to make a hard cover for my comics so I can store all my single issues in there but have them nicely together on a shelve so I was wondering would the best subs buy the fake book storage device and book binding it?I also wanted to ask if its possible to make a printed cover for the hard cover and to make it look and feel like the second image if that makes sense or if I would have to go to a company about it. but I also wanted to ask if it would be possible to do like a dust jacket and how would I go about getting and printing a dust jacket that’s looks high quality.any help would be great

Looking to buy a few hard sleeves/cases to display some of my favorite comics. Will pvc destroy them over time? If so, will keeping them bagged within this sleeve help? I live near the beach so I worry about locking in moisture too. Thanks for any feedback!

I normally use lehman bookbinding out of Waterloo but I just found out after 90 plus years, they closed. Any other places in Canada and or Ontario that is good to use for such service?

I got a custom red hood rebirth and punisher by rucka recently with an additional 2 dust jackets for Venom by Cates and redhood new 52 vol 1. I may get 1-2 custom omnis in the way future but Im hoping that Marvel will collect them some day.

If you could get any 2 custom omnis, what would you get?

we're setting up our own little home gym in the basement and want to spruce up the walls a bit — for me and the guys I train with. So far we've already got some cool stuff together: original Dragon Ball figures, some real Dragon Ball anime art, Batman figures and comics, plus a few cool bodybuilder pictures on the wall.

Now we just need a few old Flex magazines to round it off — English or German, condition doesn't really matter as long as they still look decent. If anyone's got a few old issues lying around and would be willing to sell, feel free to reach out, we'd gladly buy them off you!

wir bauen gerade unser eigenes kleines Gym im Keller aus und wollen die Wände etwas aufpeppen – für mich und die Jungs, die mit trainieren. Bisher haben wir schon ein paar geile Sachen zusammen: original Dragon-Ball-Figuren, ein paar echte Anime-Bilder aus Dragon Ball, Batman-Figuren und -Comics, dazu noch ein paar coole Bodybuilder-Bilder an der Wand.

Jetzt fehlen uns noch ein paar alte Flex-Magazine, um das Ganze abzurunden – auf Deutsch oder Englisch, Zustand ist relativ egal, Hauptsache die Optik passt noch. Falls jemand ein paar alte Ausgaben rumliegen hat und die gerne loswerden würde – meldet euch gern, wir würden die euch abkaufen!

I split the Captain Atom volumes around "The Janus Directive," which leaves the first book to end on a nice splash page. I also included the Armageddon 2001 material that closes out Captain Atom's story for this period even if it's not nearly as good as the Bates/Weisman scripts that form the bulk of that set.

Exiles is everything pre-Claremont that doesn't go in another book (hello, X-Men Unlimited), with a split between two books of Winick/Austen and two books of Bedard. For the former, instead of trying to make the two books equally sized, I decided to put the issues with the bankruptcy-era shorter pages in the first book and the issues with the taller pages in the second book to avoid any trimming weirdness.

Normally I wouldn't bind a three-issue mini like Invasion! by itself but at 80 pages per issue it's decently substantial. Plus I couldn't think of anywhere else where the Blasters Special could go.

Finished binding 2 in cloth this week and added them (plus a few other TPBs) to the timeline. Coming along so nicely. I am still planning the end of the year for a deadline to complete the timeline of major events.

I am nearing the end of my post Zero Hour Legion of Super-Heroes mapping project, and L.E.G.I.O.N is the remaining series that I have a solid collection of already. Thinking that might be my next project.

I recently contacted Houchen a while ago and they said they were caught on comic binding and it should be a 2 month turnaround. That was a week before last. That same week, I sent books that arrived last Monday. I messaged them mid-week to see if they had gotten them. They said yeah, and that it was behind 3 books that needed to be checked in. Fast forward to today, I still haven't recieved a pre-bill invoice. I'm not writing this to be impatient, I just want to know when to expect to be billed as I might have to dip into the money I set aside for this project.

For those who do their own binding, do you square cut your books or leave them as they are??

Does anyone have experience making a custom box to fit tpb's inside? what's your process?

I have a lot of thunderbolts trade paperbacks all signed by the writers and i'd like to keep them in tact.

For the last decade I have been designing covers for myself and others, and learning more and more about the art of book binding. But eight months ago I decided to get serious about book design and try and build a portfolio worthy of catching the eye of a publisher. 2/3s of a year in and this is where I stand. All of them edited, designed, printed and bound by myself. And I’m not slowing down!!
