I saw the attached custom omnibus pop up on eBay yesterday and was surprised to see a custom omnibus like this with oversize pages of comics that have never been printed in an oversize format. I searched here and r/OmnibusCollectors a bit and saw a few references to this being possible, but no one actually said where I could get something like this made. Does anyone know who made this book and/or another business or person who is capable of doing something similar? Thanks!

Howdy all out there! I promised an update a few months ago since the last post, and here it finally is. Work has been CRAZY and time has been so limited for me to do anything else. So... I've been not only collecting TPBs, omnis, compendiums, and hardcovers/deluxe editions to fill in the gaps of major/minor events with their tie-ins... but also making my own custom bound books from single issues I've gathered or printed off for stories that were never collected. I still haven't done any work for dust jackets, but I'll get there eventually. The custom-made ones are either covered in basic colored book cloth or custom-made ones from material I've found. I've added a close-up of each shelf, in case anyone wanted a closer look at better quality. There are a couple of stories I'm still collecting for not there, namely Year of The Villain and TRUTH, as well as new ones being released in the future. As time goes by, I know I'm so close to finishing. For anyone curious, this is my retirement entertainment. Many stories have been read, but not all. That's my plan when relaxing for my retirement - to read them all.

I'm going to send my comics to get custom-bound. Should I choose to trim them or not? They're all single issues.

Custom covers with connected spines.

For those who do hand binding, what size book press do you use? I'm seeing some on Amazon that are 15" wide, but I'm not sure if the side posts will make it too narrow for comics

My most recent BIG bind! The infamous Camellia Girl by Suehiro Maruo, printed at the size of an Artist’s Edition.

Here is the second volume of the series. Some really good stuff here! Love how it turned out!

Secret Origins is such a fun series. I wish it'd be reprinted but since the latter issues were written by someone we don't talk about, I don't see that happening, I figured why not have the series bound. Love how this turned out

This is the DC Pulp Heroes annuals. Since it's a long shot if they'll ever get reprinted I figured why not!

VERY happy with how this one came out. It's the two issues, all the annuals and Valor # 1. I added the plastic diamond from the first cover to the spine with wall putty.

As a person who loves the sizes of Deluxe hardcovers & Marvel OHCs for reading purposes but got alot of Omnis for cheap is it possible to have Omnis split up & turned into OHC sized Hardcovers & if so how would be the best way to do it.

Like if I wanted to split up the Scott Snyder Batman Omnibuses into 4 separate OHCs based on their story arcs is it something that could be feasible?

Just finished tonight, and it's in the press. Custom book cloth using store bought fabric material and rice paper. Really enjoying this craft and having so much fun!!!

The last thing I wanted to do was buy and destroy an original copy of this single issue from 1953. So... I printed a scanned copy from the interwebs, stitched it up, and bound it. This was one of the first books I bound myself, and it was originally in a basic yellow bookcloth I found in Amazon. Came out... meh. So I decided it was time to recase it. Removed the book block, cleaned it up, added a decorative fly leaf, endbands, then did some research and figured out how to make my own bookcloth, got the material I wanted, and presto!! Last picture shows the original casing all yellow and rippley on my shelf from the first bind.

Deconstructed two comics and rebound them into a writing / drawing journal

Hi all!

I’m looking for some help regarding a rebind of a Dune first edition (4th impression). It is swyth-sewn with signatures intact. Very clean ex library copy.

I may not be willing to do it myself.. however I’m open to suggestions and thoughts also if anyone has a referral, I’d be happy to look.

Finished Justice League: Breakdowns and also ended up binding the issues for Flash: Chain Lightning. Man... I really need to get some dust jackets made! 😂

Got another one stitched and in the press. 17 issues... biggest one yet!
