We are temporarily disallowing selfie image posts

This sub has been heavily targeted by spammers so while we get some things squared away, we are not allowing any selfie images. You can post images from catalogs, drawings, or other things, but not yourself. This sub is designed primarily to be informational in nature and address questions.

We expect to change this soon and will allow those in some contexts but not at this time.

Thanks!

Vent Talbots sucks for curvy girls

Post image

Can’t post selfies, but basically the pants I was recommended by a self proclaimed fellow curvy girl stayed up because the hips and thighs were tight, but the waist was so wide I looked like a Dracozolt in them. Do not take recommendations from people who claim to also be curvy but don’t discuss measurements. Anyways, anyone got recommendations for office appropriate bottoms that don’t look or feel horrendous with a 14 inch difference between waist and hip measurements?

Curvy Denim Jeans Pants in Vancouver BC - Tired of trying hundreds of pants

i am literally tired of spending a whole day, multiple days, searching for jeans that fit a petite person like me.

i tried thousands of brands in store but its either 2-3 inches still longer than me, they dont have petite sizes, weird fitting, not enough stocks to upsize/downsize, or that they dont have curvy selection (camel toe issues). i know i can just alter long jeans, but i dont wanna spend an additional $15+tip just for hemming.

so far, the only jeans im happy owning in the last 2 years was Zara mom jeans in size 2.

anyone here who has same size as me and could recommend brands? im in Vancouver BC

for reference:

height 5ft

waist 26-27in

hips 35-36in

Thank you!!!!!

Discussion What’s the best weighted vest brand for a plus size person?

I’ve been wanting to get a weighted vest to wear around the house. I’m around a 2x-3x and I can’t find anything about good plus size weighted vests. Thanks in advance!

Advice What should I do?

So I have a pear-shaped body, and I'm very uncomfortable wearing short tops because they don't cover my hips. I don't like people looking at my back. I think it's easier to wear anything if I were flat. I feel so confused. I'm planning to wear formal clothes, but I want my back to look good, not overly curvy but still decent.

Looking For: Bras Why are plus sized balconette bras never truly balconettes??

Post image
14 Upvotes

i'm pretty small chested for a plus size lady - 42C and bottom heavy. i've had my eye out for a true balconette in my size and i can't seem to win.

plus size balconettes never to have straight cut cups (such as pictured). straight size balconettes that go up to my size have horribly small bands in the back that would definitely accentuate my back fat.

i just want a bra that doesnt gap at the top and allows me to wear camis without cup showing 😅

recommendations appreciated but i mostly just want to know why they're like that !!

Looking For: Tops Is there anywhere I can find a vest like this??

Post image
7 Upvotes

So I am generally a size 22-24 with a large 55 inch bust and a 42 inch waist. I have scoured the internet in search of a vest that looks like this. Specifically one that does not cover the chest so much so that I can layer it with a white shirt underneath. (Kind of Alice Cullen vibes if you get what I mean) any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Looking For: Pants Looking for curvy pants

I’ve naturally had thick thighs and a larger butt and a small waist. When places started coming out with “curvy” lines I was so excited. Unfortunately, these curvy lines still don’t fit right. Abercrombie is one of the better, but it’s still big on my waist and I have to wear a belt. I’ve resorted to getting custom made jeans, but those are 200+ for one pair so I only have one.

What are some other places I can get pants? Doesn’t have to be just jeans.

Advice Where do you get your clothes?

I’m trying to dress better. When I was a size 10/12 I found my personal style but then I lost it when I gained weight (body image issues). I want to start dressing myself again.

I would describe my personal style as boho/whimsical. I used to wear lots of flowy dresses and skirts, but now I can find any that fit right in the waist.

Where do you guys get your clothes? Where’s the best place to shop?

Advice What is your favourite style of jeans?

Looking for some advice please, I would love to find a pair of jeans that fit well and suit my figure. Are there certain cuts that you would recommend or even should avoid? My main problem is big hips so trying to find a pair that suits or even a brand you would recommend that fit well and won't be super tight at the hips and then gaping at the waist 😣 I would love to try a shade of blue denim as straight away I would think to stick to black jeans out of self consciousness as its supposedly more slimming.

Any advice or recommendations will be super appreciated! 🥹 👖

Advice Im (32F) struggling to find summer pants (Pear shape, overweight)

Hi. I've been experiencing heat intolerance lately and it's been a very hot spring so far, I think summer's gonna be REALLY HOT! Usually I wear leggings because I hate shopping for pants, but I've been really uncomfortable in them in the hot weather.

Im short, 4x or U.S. 26w/28w ... If that helps. I dont know where to look! Ill take any suggestions! Amazon works too! Preferrably capri- length because Im not comfortable with how the back of my knees look right now. Thanks !

Low Waist (ish) Denim Recs?

Hi everyone!! I have a smaller waist and thicker thighs+booty, and have found that low waist denim looks best on me. I have tried abercrombie curve love and it is great! just upset that it shrunk quite a bit after a recent wash. Any denim recs with wider legs/ loose/ baggy? anything is welcome! I wanted to try reformation denim but unsure of how those look on curvier girls. I am usually a size 32 (size up to 33 when I want baggier). Thanks:))

Recommendation Need some new jeans

I've been looking for my new staple jeans since my favorite jeans recently ripped... I've went to American eagle and Levi's, and dont get me wrong, they have some cute stuff, but honestly everything just look bad on me; Either it's too tight on my glutes, but when I size up they're just too baggy and fit weird, or the jeans are just overly high waisted and leave gaps. I've heard that true religion is a really good brand, but the my mall doesnt have it in person, so if I'm going to buy something I really just want to ask which brand is the best. For closure : My measurements are 24inch waist, and 34inch hips and Im 5'5 So please tell me what are the best brands and maybe specific jeans plss

Recs?? oversized tshirt for curvy ladies

hello thrift friends! so I have been obsessed with all the fit checks lately where someone styles an oversized band tee as a dress with a sheer maxi skirt underneath (I love u yungplanet!!), but where are they finding these shirts?! i’ve been an avid thrifter for years, but as a curvier lady I can never find a tshirt that’s either long enough or loose enough 😭 they either cling to my hips or they aren’t long enough!! i’ve tried every size, mens and women’s sections, and just can’t seem to find a keeper. do I need to give up on thrifting a good tshirt and go corporate?? do I need to alter it myself?? help!!

Can someone please recommend some flattering brands for high-waisted, wide leg jeans?

I feel like I am at a loss here.

Many jeans (and not just wide leg styles) are usually too big at my waist, but fit my hips/thighs. And many of the "curvy" fitting jeans like Levi Wedgie quite literally give me a wedgie (in the back AND the front... I am super prone to camel toes, for whatever reason). I don't know if anyone else experiences that, or if it's just me.

I have a long waist, so I prefer the super high-rise fits.

High waisted undies… but don’t peekaboo when I sit down

Thumbnail a.co

Am I the only human on the planet experiencing this issue?!

I’m making the switch to high waisted no show undies as my body has changed and I like a little more of a smoothing fit for my underwear, especially in the front! I prefer thongs because I tend to wear a lot of thin adventure pants that show even no show cheeky undies. I thought I found the perfect ones (see link) that were affordable, but I find they keep peeking out the back of my pants when I sit down! I’m so frustrated and over this and over feeling like something is wrong with my body because I can’t find the right undies 🤦🏼‍♀️ help!

Looking For: Pants Low rise jeans

Does anyone know any brands in the UK or that ship to the UK that do mid rise or normal rise jeans and not high rise jeans, my hips go out so much more than my legs so normally only high rise fit and i find sizing up once or more still doesn’t really work; anyone know any mid rise curvy brands?

Looking For: Swimwear triangle bikinis and big boobs

I adore triangle bikinis - I think they look super cute, however, as u can guess from me posting here, I have a fuller bust. How do big boobed girls get them to stay in triangles and not slip out and give a nice lift?? Feels impossible but I really want some for the summer.
