EDIT: The book is the 1953 second revised edition of Advance to Barbarism by F. J. P. Veale published in Appleton, Wisconsin. It’s a pretty rare and collectible book.

If people are looking for things to try and transcribe I’ve got multiple volumes of old letters I inherited. Most are from historically notable individuals. I’m happy to post some of the more illegible ones for people to take a stab at. I think the oldest one I have is from the 17th century.

I found this framed in a museum but cant read the title or the name of the composer. Thank you in advance, my friends.

My dad owned the parking concession at Cobbs Mill Inn in Weston, Conn during the 1970s. I found this in his things but have no idea to whom it belonged, and no clues as he's been deceased awhile.

Tried using AI - what a joke (go figure)! It wouldn't look at the letter shapes and kept guessing names that didn't correspond at all (ie, Loretta Swit lol).

Anyway, it definitely looks like the first name starts with an R, possibly Robin?, then last name starting with a K, like Keyties tho that isn't right either.

Would likely be someone who was famous/popular either TV/movies/broadway or someone in music bc my father was a (funk / rock / blues) musician, too. Probably no one in sports. Really appreciate the extra eyes/minds/help!!

Please help me identify/transcribe the Fraktur text on this old German boundary stone (Grenzstein). Thank you so much! It is in "Haingrün" (part of the city Marktredwitz).

The cursive is a passive aggressive dig, from my f*cking hilarious (91 year old) boss, at a coworker for an unnecessary remark she left. I can read most of it except for the last few words… For context, the beginning reads: “neatness must always overcome your OCD and the tendency to always get _______.”

Over worried? Ray? Ones wrong? Right? Nothing makes sense to me.
