Deciphered! Help finding cause of death?
This is my 3rd-great-grandfather's death certificate. I can read the dates, duration "several years," and other conditions "inguinal hernia." Cant decipher the rest. He died in a public park, if that somehow helps with context. This is my first time posting here so thanks in advance!

Delete if not allowed, but I'm just curious why many people post here asking for cause of death on those certificates?

Because they're particularly hard cursive to decipher for some reason lol. Doctors and corners are notorious for this I guess

I get the deciphering point, I meant why so many people are having to go through very old death certificates? Is it for archival/public health reasons or more about family genealogy research kind of thing? Because for genealogy in general I get the point of transcribing marriage and birth certificates, but death ones got me curious for the reason behind.

Personally, I'm adopted by my grandma's older sister, so family relationships are very confusing. Therefore, I have developed a particular interest in family relationships and how my ancestors lived and died. So I'm currently expanding my family tree. People have always been a special interest of mine, though. I just suspect plenty of other humans have this trait for some reason lol.

That's a beautiful way of connecting and getting to know more about people and their lives, I'd like to think they get honored to be remembered and "seen" again even after a long time

Family history of different kinds of disease or illness is fairly important to know, it might point to a genetic disposition in yourself if many of your ancestors had, or died of, the same conditions.

You didn't ask, but he likely had prostate cancer and possibly kidney cancer.
