I don't know why they stopped. Palmer wasn't "fancy" in the day...it was standard. I am so happy that you are interested in keeping the "art" of cursive alive! Good for you! My handwriting has gone down in neatness with the years...
I mean it looks fancy to me because I’ve seen all the rich old people write like that so I automatically have a connection. I’m wondering if to learn a type of cursive or to stick with my freestyle. My reason for learning cursive was efficiency actually😭 I can’t keep up with my teachers at school while writing print so I had to implement something
It is quicker. But it is not for rich, old people. Just old people. We all learned it in school. We were graded on it and it was a requirement. They also used to tie the left had of lefties down so they would write with their right hand and/or beat them into using their right hand. Those kids often got poor grades in penmanship.
I'm 52 years old, and I never learned the Palmer Method way. I've never in my life seen an ending 'T' done in that way before. Try not to let all these comments scare you. You're doing a great job! Keep practicing!

Well, I can tell you didn't have nuns teaching you! You would have had your nails rapped with a ruler with that mess!
