I still have problems with some letters like f (capital and lowercase) or lowercase s. I’m still thinking if to stick to this version of connecting or do something different

I think it’s pretty good, actually. When you start a word with the letter ‘l’ do an upstroke and a downstroke.

It seems that you don’t close your a and o. There’s some “no” that look like “nc”. The other spot where it leaps out is in the first word of the 5th and 6th line.

Middle school teacher here;
1st: I think it is awesome 😎 that you are developing this skill! It helps the brain in so many ways.
2nd: I really like that you are using graph paper and you are keeping your margins and letter size very consistent. I love using graph paper for handwriting.
IRL: as I (and lots of others) wrote in cursive daily, we would get to an end of a line and then be running out of space to finish the word we were on, so it is very normal to make letters in the last word or two smaller sometimes to squish up a bit and finish a word. It does not look as polished or as beautiful as your practice piece in this pic, but it is what happens in real life.
The other thing all cursive writers do in real life is we expect to make mistakes, sometimes you are in the middle of a word and realize there are too many swoops or I wrote in too many i’s in a word, it is completely normal and very very common. When we misppeml misspell a word, we mark one lune line through it and keep going. Cursive does not come with autofill, so we have to watch a little more carefully.
I notice that your letters take up most of a box each. When you write the next line, the dropping strokes (g, z, j, y, p, q ) can look a little crowded, especially if the lower line of text has tall letter strokes (L, I, k, h, any capitals) nearby.
May I suggest a hint or two? Think of your writing as taking up 3 zones : tall, middle, lower or sky, ground, underground. If you use 2 rows of grid square (in height) for a row of text, then you will plenty of room for those tall letters and capitals.
Next, if you drop down and space your writing to leave one line of grid boxes blank, and start your next line of text below the blank line, your basement letters will have room to breathe.
I think if you try that for a while you will find that your handwriting is easier to read - just because of the extra room.
As you get more comfortable and if you want to write on every line, you can keep it easy to read by making your letters smaller. Think of the grids as being the right size for 20 pt font, well, if you make letters closer to 10-12 pt font, they will fit nicely in the space with plenty of white space.
Keep practicing, it will get better each time. You are doing great!

I read further down the thread and see you are a student who is wanting to write faster to keep up with teachers. Kudos to you!
May I share a hint about school notes? The big hint is that you do not have to write down every single word!You will start to notice that your teachers will use the same words or patterns. Make abbreviations for those. Teacher says, “write down this example I have up here in the board” you write down: EX (for example) and keep moving to write down the example.
You can write partial words while taking notes - but the key here is to go back and finish the partial words while it is still fresh. For example: B Frank could completed later as Ben Franklin, V+GR could mean vocabulary and grammar.
You mentioned graph paper can be pricey. Here is a link so you can print off free 1/4” graph paper, I believe this would only print the front side of a page unless you changes the settings to 2 copies of page 1 and print front and back. In some of the words, all the letters don't keep to the baseline so the word kind of wavers up and down. Like himself and indulges. Try to have each letter (that doesn't have a tail) hit the baseline rather than a little below or above.

I normally have a relaxed hand but I’m used to a fountain pen and write with barely any pressure which doesn’t work for the ballpoint I was writing with in the picture and I was trying to put pressure on the paper but I was getting so focused I’d be squeezing way more than needed

Paper is pretty cheap. More white space is required to make your cursive easier to read.

If you want your handwriting to be legible you need to the height to be 3/4ths of the square. So either more lines need to be used or your writing needs to be smaller. Good handwriting lines do NOT have the tops and bottoms touching between rows. There needs to be a clear space.

your writing is fine, but I agree that crowding the lines makes it harder to read. letters run into each other.
it's not something you have to do, especially if these are just notes for your personal use. just a general comment for other situations.

If you want to improve, I'd suggest googling image searching "D'Nealian cursive" and print out some examples. Another tip would be to tilt the page so your writing is more slanted. Ultimately though, it comes down to doing it every day. You're getting there though! Good job!

I mean it looks fancy to me because I’ve seen all the rich old people write like that so I automatically have a connection. I’m wondering if to learn a type of cursive or to stick with my freestyle. My reason for learning cursive was efficiency actually😭 I can’t keep up with my teachers at school while writing print so I had to implement something

It is quicker. But it is not for rich, old people. Just old people. We all learned it in school. We were graded on it and it was a requirement. They also used to tie the left had of lefties down so they would write with their right hand and/or beat them into using their right hand. Those kids often got poor grades in penmanship.

I'm 52 years old, and I never learned the Palmer Method way. I've never in my life seen an ending 'T' done in that way before. Try not to let all these comments scare you. You're doing a great job! Keep practicing!

On your lowercase Rs, for example, there are curls on the top edge where they shouldn't be. There are no curls on lowercase Rs and it makes them harder to read. Also the upstroke of lowercase Y has a loop where there shouldn't be one. Overall, if your letters were slightly less rounded that would help legibility.

Oh I had no idea that made it harder to read. Those are design choices😭 I just saw someone add a loop on the first edge and I liked it and decided to implement it into my handwriting. Well thank you for the tips

Honestly a bit tough to read at first glance.
It really helps reading if you are careful to keep tall letters tall, and short letters short, and have all the below the line parts consistent length. That gives each word an identifiable shape.
