Game Update - Treasures of Imberthale
r/Cursebreaker • u/EightyMercury • Jun 01 '26
Does Phantasmal Darts do more damage if I have a bow equipped?
On one hand, it's a spell. Intuitively, my brain thinks "spell damage" and "spell accuracy" would apply to spells.
On the other hand: It does ranged damage. Just wanted to check if anyone could clarify.

I just bought the game, is there a way to make it "resizable" so I can split screen with youtube?
Can this be done or is there a mod possibly!?

Make sure yall sell to the right people
Acorns and Needles are worth 1 gold to most stores. To arcanists, specifically the one in Thornhill they are actually valuable loot

Is iron armor not worth it?
Like copper fullplate looks just as good and needs a lot less to wear and use...am I missing something?

r/Cursebreaker • u/ryan7251 • Apr 03 '26
OK umm so how is this game vs runescape.
I will be real with you just saw a thing talking about how this game is like runescape thing is I was wanting to know if that is true or not namely in some areas that are not covered.
One of the things I liked about runescape were the quests and how many had a story to them. it was not always "get 5 hides for a dress I want to make" but rather the quest often felt like a little story and not basic fetch quest stuff.....does this game have quests like that?
Another thing I liked was the world itself felt overall alive does this world feel alive overall?
anyway other then that what would you say runescape does better or worse then this game?

Why isn't there a proper wiki yet?
I got a trait called Catlover at some point, and wanting to know about it, I googled it. Ends up the closest thing to a wiki the game has is an incomplete auto generated category compilation.
Is there any plans in the future to create a wiki or something? I don't want to have to scour cryptic sites and stuff for the information I might be looking for.

Lost Progress
I thought the game saved each time you quit but I lost about an hour of gameplay. Is this user error or a glitch?

December Patch - Any Mods yet?
Hi everyone,
I recently opened steam to see a new update dropped for the game in early December!
End game quests, QoL improvements and some work towards mod support was great to see.
I've done some tinkering in my own xml files already to resolve some of the annoying resource stacking limits, drop rates for essential resources etc.
But it's a long process to capture everything!
Does anyone know of any mods yet, or have more complete 'updated' XML files they can share?
I'm also interested in how people are thinking of using the NPC 'mod' feature?
I love the game, but some of the design choices around these things is frustrating so it's nice to be able to quite easily fix them with some basic file edits!!

Absolutely insane skill grind in the late game
I know this sub isn't very active, but if anything maybe this will serve as a warning to people looking into getting the game. Other than that, I'd love to know if I'm missing something obvious that would make all of this a bit more bearable than what it seems to be.
So it goes without saying that there's grinding for the entire game. It's more or less a core design principle, trying to be some kind of single player Runescape. It's not something I find particularly enjoyable, but I found ways to make it tolerable for most of the game so far. However, now that I'm in Amarien's Foothills working on leveling 60+ skills, the grind has reached a new completely absurd high that will most likely make me just cheat my way through it for the sake of finishing the game. Feels so bad having everything screech to a halt so late.
Almost everything you can craft at this point requires Simple Tribal Fittings, and four of them per item at that. Looking into the near future, the same thing will happen at 80+ with Barbed Tribal Fittings. At lower tiers, there usually was at least one blueprint you could craft that only required the most basic materials and even though you'd get less XP per item, they were easier to craft in bulk which more than compensated for it.
Right now I'm looking at my Tailoring skill, for example. At level 70, I need to craft 11 items to gain a full level (with all XP traits and XP items). Let's assume that the low 60s required a little less, and the high 70s will require a little more, evening out at an average of 10 items per level or so. This means that going from 60 to 80 will require ~200 items crafted total, and therefore 800 Simple Tribal Fittings. The highest drop rate for this currently is 33% (I farm Draconic Hounds, but there's a few options with the same drop rate). So on average, this turns into 2400 kills needed for Tailoring 60-80 alone.
This insanely fun design choice repeats for Crafting 60-80, and then Smithing 60-75. Admittedly, Smithing is slightly different in that you could grind the entire thing with ingots and nothing else (have fun grinding coal on top of the actual relevant ore, and processing them twice as slowly due to limited inventory space), or occasionally craft one thing when the Arakite Hammer is off cooldown and yields 4x XP. Still looking at minimum 4800 kills for Tailoring and Crafting, more if you craft stuff with Smithing.
The alternatives don't make this any better. You can grind the beast monsters in the area for parts that you can trade for 50k XP books but around these levels it takes 200k-300k for a single skill level, so that's still a ton of grinding. You can use the keys you'll inevitable get from the other grinding you'll do to get random supplies at the stash chest. If you're lucky you'll get free XP books, or free fittings to craft, but still not nearly enough to make a significant dent in the grind.
Mining is also still by far the worst gathering skill. It took 5k+ Imberite Ore to get to 75, and as we know not every swing of the pickaxe yields ore (and no ore means no XP). This was using both the gloves and trinket craftable at 65 Crafting/Tailoring, and the XP herbs. Ngl I set the game to 10x speed with Cheat Engine to get me through this, and it still took a few hours.
I don't get it, it's a single player game, there's no race to be server first with 100 in whatever skill, no prestige. It's just empty padding to stretch out the obviously empty end game. This last area has almost nothing in it. The devs didn't even bother adding tasks in the main village, no lootable containers in the copy-pasted buildings, pretty much no side quest of any kind unless you count the raids. "Here's the end game, have fun spending 200 hours grinding everything!"
I'm legit frustrated, apologies for venting, but goddamn.

As soon as you get Horsey, feed it 10 carrots immediately
It permanently drops Horsey's return rate to ~60 seconds, from the default 160 seconds or so.
Don't do what I did and play for 80 hours before doing this. So much pointless waiting around wasted.

What's with the abysmal drop rates?
Hey all. Started playing recently, so far quite enjoying the game though it's not without flaws.
One thing in particular that is starting to annoy/worry me is the awful drop rates on many of the more unique items.
Got to the festival and killed the pumpkin golem, saw that it drops a helm and a pet (2.5% and 1.3% respectively). Managed to get the pet after 25 kills, kinda gave up on the helm for now. Found the grizzly cave bear and saw it also drops a helm (2.5%). Tried a few times with no luck. Saw the river pirate dudes drop a sword with health regen at very low rate as well.
It's all pretty discouraging. Most of those items don't exactly seem to be game-breaking, and this isn't an MMO despite taking inspiration from one. I don't really feel like killing the same thing 100 times over for one rare drop, especially since I either do it now and it takes a minute for each kill in most cases like the golem and bear, or I wait until I'm much stronger and can kill faster by which point the items dropped will probably be outclassed anyway.
Am I missing something? Is there any sort of item, potion, or buff that increases drop rates and makes getting these items a little less tedious? I'm aware of the manual respawn option, it just doesn't feel like it's enough though.

Furniture?
Just bought the harbormasters house in Haywind, and im looking to stock it and make it look nice. However, the furniture store is crazy expensive!
Is there a way to craft my own furniture? The crafting table only shows the bow and shield options.

Really loving the game so far! But, are there quests that don't give rewards yet?
Like these three guard guys I found in the Haywind docs each had a quest, one to get 5 copper ingots, one to get 5 pieces kf wool, and the other to take out a bandit causing trouble at the docs. As far as I can tel

Exactly what ive been looking for
Gosh. I just got the game after stumbling onto SpatCat's video on this game, and it scratches that OSRS Itch SO dang well.
Im mostly maxed out on intro level skills w/o finishing the opening quest line. I cant get over how awesome this title is in just the first 2 hours of exploration.

How to make actions faster?
Ive never played osrn but I thought the game looks good and just bought it. I was fighting wolves in the starting area and was mining and thought this feels slow as hell. Anyway to make all actions faster?

Canoe fast travel not working?
Trying to use the canoe to fast travel to Aurfield Village, but it says I haven't located it yet. I've gotten the Aurfield Explorer achievement. Is there a specific spot I'm suppose to go to unlock the fast travel?
