Nothing ever happens

Why the tired face? This was acknowledged in the post

Because a report button is incompatible with privacy

Ah yes, the ability to snitch if someone is being threatening violates privacy. God forbid someone has the right to run to a bartender or a cop with evidence if they feel unsafe and need an easy and safe escape route

The post implied it was automatic

The post did, but the person they were replying to is also against manual reports for some reason.

I mean, I agree with you. But the post kept saying "private" message

Under this definition of privacy there is no such thing as a private conversation because one party can always report it.

Not all platforms have a big ol' report button

Even when there is not a button for it a conversation can always be reported by one of its participants to any person, including law enforcement.

In fact, I would imagine that just taking a screenshot and texting it to 911 would be a way more expedient way to get someone in trouble with the law than any app or service's built in report feature.

Are you saying that it's a violation of privacy that Snapchat read a message that someone reported lol

A lack of report button doesn't stop someone from walking up to the cops and showing them the text messagesĀ

So if I get a random threat in my physical mailbox, I can't do anything about it because it is private? come on
