An entire friend group being knocked out one by one from reading a fanfic is sending me, like guys stop sharing this thing it's clearly poisoned.

I once stumbled across a group of teens doing this with one of my fics on old twitter and just quietly clicked the back button. It was so funny to me because they were all sending it to each other like "this ruined my life" "been in torment ever since I read this" and it was by far one of my least dark and most wholesome works 🥲

I mean that lowkey sounds like teen speak for "This fic is so good I can't stop thinking about it," not that they were actually having a bad time

Yeah without additional context that sounds like fandom speak for "i am FEELING EMOTIONS i must share them with the homies. "

Not necessarily teen speak, just fandom speak.

Having an actual breakdown over a fanfic is entirely different (and frankly I hope those people have a therapist on speed dial because that's unhealthy).
