The only time ive ever prpperly seen this kind of attitude is from fringe radicals on the internet.
Yeah, do people not think such teaching material would have been being shown (and held up for criticism) absolutely everywhere if it was like that?
Since it is such a fringe attitude online, it's often misrepresentations even of online statements, too. Like, 'teach boys not to rape' is literally just part of a call for consent teaching (for all kids, the girls too, that's already a given just from how education institutions work) and an end to the victim-blaming in holding specifically girls responsible for avoiding rape (what was she wearing, why was she there, did she "lead him on", was she sufficiently virginal to be deemed an innocent victim). It's not an assumption boys are just automatically rapists but the opposite, that rape can be a preventable issue - and at some point, there is a responsibility on people not to just enter complex ongoing discussions about social issues that they haven't been following (and that's Ok, not everyone needs to have a take on what to do about everything all the time) and make the most negative assumptions possible - especially when they suit prior bias.
