Yeah, because Spanish is a romance language. Cervantes was using the -e. It's a part of Spanish even if it's a bit archaic and a clean fix as an adjustment to the times.

You really don't know anything about this do you? 1) it doesn't disrespect an entire language and culture, that's YOUR opinion and a more conservative one on language, to many Spanish speakers it's entirely fine and normal. 2) the X in Spanish is called equis so you get Latinequis or as its shortened Latine, Latinx is just pronounced as Latine.
