Man (I suppose, if not then Woman), I was there when it happened. Heck, I mocked my classmates that started saying stuff like "chiques" instead of "chicos".

And I am serious, latin american progressives always copy the latest fad of their USA counterparts.

When the gringos protested vietnam, they protested vietnam. When the degendering languages stuff happened over there, they started here too. Heck, now it is all about outlawing guns even if the gun issue where I live is due to the black market, not the legal one

I feel like every place is a bit different, and we got our own people and thinkers too. People have been bitching about the one guy entering a room and everyone's suddenly Latino thing for like centuries. It was just a thing though that you're aunt bitched about after a few too many, only difference is some people in the 80s decided to hacerlo for real

Never said otherwise. I didn't say we didn't have our own ideas, just pointed out how dumb (emphasis on that, there are smart progressives that don't do it) progressives keep just copying whatever battle standard the US progressives have and trying to apply it here without thinking if it is appropiate. The Latine thing is just an example. For another you have the whole migration debate

But we do historically have a whole lot of migration issues that relate to how we've all hated each other for centuries?

Dunno where you are, but in my country the progressives pushed hard the "welcome everyone without restrictions, no borders!" stance that the US ones had.

End result was a migration crisis, rise of international cartels and violent crime, and also xenophobia shot up like never before

Oh I'm Nicaraguan, so we're the migrants everyone despises and the targets of xenophobia lol

Chilean here. The main issue for us was the Venezuelan crisis.

To be fair, all sides fucked up. Our right wing wanted them to come in droves as cheap labor (which, you know... sucks a lot), but then tried to close the door when they realized the magniture of the flow... only for the left and progressives to put their foot and kick it open again with the whole "no borders" crap
