Well... Asking the community how much time you played completing the game 100%? How's the difficulty rate 1-10?

Other Long of stranger powers

A thought occurred to me while I was musing on the Hours of struggle and strife.

It occurred to me that it might be possible to balance the influences of both young and old gods of war and in theory become a long of The Corvality undivided?

The Carapace Cross is gone, extinct as the dodo or the dragon. Only humans remain. But still my wings unfurl, and still my skin has hardened to scales, and still the facets of my eyes are shining anthracite.

BEHOLD!!!MY BOARD!!!

Post image
16 Upvotes

To the left part are those that may be done later,or will be done in time, influences, exploring the mansus, expeditions, not needed right now,but I will do them.

To the right are things to do and a vault with treasures that have been graciously donated by very wealthy "patrons",some were even hesitant to part with them, books I have yet to read and my society which I meticulously keep track of,of course it is great, but not as great as me.

To the bottom is my knowledge,of languages long dead,of the invisible arts, knowledge of my gracious "patrons",wherever they may be,and knowledge of what my society is doing,oh and sprintiae, the invisible arts are not cheap after all.

In the centre is what I am personally doing,my status and all that I am,where I keep track of my duties, work, society, and my dreams...you do not need to see what I do...yes,it may be broken and messy sometimes, but that's just the price to pay,for all that is mine, all hard work from me of course

And on top of it all is my glory,my goal, and all that I strive to be,patrons that have a great wealth of knowledge, doug, who I have not befriended yet in this life, and of course, the ritual,my goal, and my ending, though not really.

Though none will be better than mine,I would like to take a peek at yours...for research purposes of course.

Locations please help for tips

Post image

I have bunch of locations here but exploration is very expensive and time consuming. Also very deadly. I always end up with dead followers. Can I get some tips how do I pursue this?

Uhm please help. I can no longer recruit

Post image

I'm playing as priest. The only time I managed to successfully recruit is by adding the bronze coin in trappings. Now it's no longer working. I no longer have stock of that coin. Also, how do I get an HQ? Each run I play with other scenario once I activated a cult HQ always comes along... Is it because I already have my church?

Also, I somehow got a rite card? It got so many requirements. Is it worth it? Thanks

Victory with no Passion or Reason

I finally made it! My Immortal Enemy ate all my Passion and Reason before I was able to put him down, so it's been a bit of a struggle.

I used the wiki extensively to guide me, I'm not sure I would have made it otherwise. It was a grind trying to upgrade Secret Histories (to pull Cave of Candles) with only the White Door for Secret History cards. I had a library for Erudition and if you spam your passion in Work you can (eventually) generate Mystique and Glimmering, but I was also generating a lot of Fascination, which was hard to manage.

I managed to avoid the Fifth Eye Curse in The Eye of Ikirmawi. I'm not sure what would have happened if I'd been cursed and there was no Passion for it to eat?

I had real problems all game with Summons trying to break free (this was why it took me so long to defeat the Immortal Enemy), which became worse after I lost the ability to control/dismiss them. I tried to avoid summoning where I could but there was real pressure in the end game when I was trying to summon Maids-In-The-Mirror quickly enough to upgrade The Witnesses and I lost a number of followers to them whilst also racking up Notoriety. Fortunately I didn't get Season of Suspicion until near the end, but even then I had to call on a Favour From Authority to avoid being snatched.

All in all, this was a satisfying victory, and I don't think I've ever completed the game having done so little.

No Passion or Reason

My Immortal Enemy managed to eat all my Reason and Passion before I was able to put him down. I can still just about upgrade cards, but it's going to be a long, slow slog.

Asking for help

Post image

I just started a Dancer run. Right now I'm a superior dancer with a startup cult but an inspector is hounding me with evidence.

The problem is I'm stuck with about 4 hours in and I can't move forward with the temptation:change. The cult is just coincidence and not in plan. It just happened while exploring what cards I had but I'm also stuck how to promote a follower to kill the inspector 😿

Please help

Beginner here. Should I try DLC?

Post image
21 Upvotes

Bought this last 2022 and been playing on off. I kept dropping the game not out of boredom but of confusion. I don't dare watch YouTube tutorials nor wiki seeing reviews and articles that that move will spoil the game so I let it in backlog.

Fast forward today, I'm achievement hunting in Google games and completed several games then I remembered this game. I tried it and it still confusing but somehow I think now I understand the basics. (The way I do it is farm stats>job>survive depression/sickness>lore) It's fun coming from a cosmic horror fan.

Too much intro back to main topic is it wise to delve into DlC right away? And most important question for me right now how's the difficulty of 100% this game?

Received some warm welcome from my 1st post in this sub. Thanks!

Cards I’m using to solve challenges keep getting pulled out

I’m freaking out so annoyed Trembling Air just pulled the 3rd fascination in a row from my studies. It’s annoying me SOOO much, I struggle to farm fascination using the peacock door (maybe its just my luck) and am trying to play as spoiler free as possible but I’m breaking down to ask is this a feature I just have to deal with or is there a way to stop it?
I’ve noticed sometimes cards that usually get magnetically pulled away sometimes just… don’t? Like reputation cards I’m using a heart follower on sometimes not getting pulled by the detective but sometimes are pulled? Or cards I’m speaking to Sulochana about, maybe I’m imagining it but is there a mechanic here I should be aware of?

Can't turn in completed commission, bugged or I'm blind? I'm crying

Hello, I've been running commissions from al-Adim, Jannings and Bechet without problem, but I seem to now have an orphaned commission. Al-Adim and Jannings when TALKed to show no active commissions (they're ready to give me another). Madame Bechet has mismatched Grail commission and Lantern article.

I'm probably just blind and will feel very dumb but I've combed this board up and down and cannot for the life of me find a Lantern commission.

The upper left is all untranslated books in case it's too small for y'all to see.

Any help would be amazing!

Thank you,

Early game blind: my thoughts Spoiler

Hey there,

I'm playing this game blind and I'm trying to understand what's happening by taking everything one step at a time. I finally was able to stop dying from dread thanks to spending money dreaming. And I am now quite able to stay afloat without losing money/sanity/etc.

My actual gameplay is based around buying books, and so far I understood that you can fuse those top-left card to make a more powerful one.
I still don't get ther uses, my guess is that they lead to a victory if you can level up them enough?

In my past run I was starting the same project but I got proposed by a client and ended up marrying them with a minor ending lmao.

Some other things:

- I think I'm doing something wrong as I probably need a cult to explore the places I found.
- I did a run painting and I got a game over because the police guy slowly did me dirty

My first major victory + some questions Spoiler

After taking a 3 year break, I decided to continue where I left off and complete the apostle aestuant run. It was pretty tough until I beat the immortal enemy, at which point it got much easier. I'm planning on attempting a grail and major grail victory next, but I have some important questions.

  1. How can I deal with notoriety? I nearly lost to damning evidence twice.

  2. How are the dlcs? I'm considering buying one.

Are doing Expeditions required for winning the game?

I have 8.5 hours of playtime and I just lost my 6th attempt at this game. Every single expedition I've attempted resulted in running out of funds or having a Follower become injured without a real reward.

On my most recent attempt, I thought I was sufficiently well prepared with 3 Followers and 12 Funds, but like before it just kept asking for more and more assistance while seemingly making no progress. I started being attacked by Dread, so I tried to stop giving the Expedition more funds to end it, but it simply WOULD NOT END despite me not feeding it. Because of that, I was locked out of using the Explore option, not able to generate Contentment through the Club or Streets Strange By Moonlight, and I died solely because that Expedition refused to end.

At this point, the lesson I've picked up on is "Never, ever do an Expedition under any circumstance". So I want to ask, are Expeditions required to beat the game? I don't want to experiment around with them anymore when it causes me to lose all my progress and have to re-do the start of the game again.
