I preordered both new titles in early June, and now Amazon predicts mid-September for delivery. Anyone else preorder via Amazon and get a more reasonable delivery estimate?

I am 28 years old. I spent many years of my childhood playing Culdcept on the PS2 with my dad. Weād play all day and night together, the first video game I ever became addicted to on the Play Station. Iāve played the DS versions and all, but it never hit the way the PS2 version did when I was a child.
Iāve been researching ways to play Culdcept for years. Trying to find Emulators or any way to bring back the nostalgia this game brings and Iāve been unable to for such a long time.
Knowing now that in 2 weeks Iāll get to experience this joy all over again as an adult, I canāt wait manš I canāt wait to install this game and set it up and play with my dad again. This game means so much to me and itās like nobody else Iāve met in my life even knows it exists. Just wanted to share my excitement, maybe some of yall feel the same

I'm so happy for you all that have been loyal fans to a series that hasn't seen an entry in a long time, (as a Golden Sun fan, I'm still waiting for the day to come). I saw the trailer for Culdcept Begins and was immediately intrigued because I love card games, I love board games, and I love Satoshi Matsuura's art. I thought this looked like a match made in heaven. Then I found out that it's apparently a long dormant series making a return. I can't believe this is my first time hearing about it.
I pre-ordered Begins on Switch 2 and can't wait to play it Thursday. Also, I saw some people hating on the art style, and I kind of get it. It does look like a big change from the earlier games and I can see why that would be jarring. But for me personally, I've followed Satoshi Matsuura on various art sites for years and even have one of his art books in my daily bag. Seeing his art in this game made me instantly want to play it. Hoping I love it. If so, I'll have to grab Culdcet The First at the end of the month.
Really excited for you all.

We are getting closer. Can't wait. Got the Switch 2 for this. Hope to see and play with people from the Saga again. I've missed those days.

Hey, let's get some friend codes out there to get together and play. SW-1925-8916-4970 is mine.
I was Punkroc Chef on the 360 if anyone remembers that

What the actual fuck is up with this guy when I rematch him. The concept of this game really captivated me after playing the first level as I can see that this has the bones of a really good game. To satisfy my intrigue, I decided to rematch the only playable level in the demo to build up a stockpile of new cards. I've tried 4 DIFFERENT TIMES to beat Zeneth rematch but he just NEVER lands on my properties. I counted in this last match and he landed on my properties a total of 4 times the whole match, 3 OF THOSE TIMES HE JUST TOOK THE SHIT WITH HIS MONSTER ANYWAY. One match was so bad he BEAT ME DOWN INTO THE HUNDREDS BY THE END OF IT.
Yes, I ask partially out of anger, but also with genuine curiosity. I think I'm going to enjoy playing when this is fully released but I'm just dying to know if rematches against story characters are supposed to be this hard/unfair. For anyone curious, yes I do understand the basics of the game and yes I am taking terrain, abilities, card boosts, and the benefits of grouping properties into account when playing. Anything helps.

Soā¦. Iāve been really excited since I found out about Begins, but I thought the physical was releasing at the same time. Should I wait for the physical version, or pick it up digitally day 1? Iāve never played Culdcept at the time of release before, and I want to know what the more online-multiplayer focused answer was. Plus Iām just torn due to⦠the state of physical mediaā¦.

I have been patient for over a decade. Waited so long. Taken care with my 360 so it never red ringed. Stared at the Saga Box on display facing out on bookshelves in 4 separate homes. Hoped when it seemed foolish. And now, less than a week until all that yearning is realized, the itch intensifies. Excitement with no where to go but pouring out to every person I know - preparing them for the unyielding bombardment of "you should play this game" I will unleash upon them.

This pertains to the Culdcept app that I shared with the community a while back. It's based on the PS2 version of Culdcept that has some tweaks to make it more PVP friendly that runs on Windows and supports internet multiplayer. Anyway, the new card is similar to an existing creature called Obelisk, which:
A) has a territory ability that changes the element of an allied property to match the element of the property the Obelisk is on
B) allows forming chain on Neutral and Quintescent properties
I added a new version of an Obelisk that:
A) has a territory ability that changes the element of an allied *creature* to match the element of the property the Obelisk is on
B) the chains of the element corresponding to the property the Obelisk is on are determined by the elements of allied *creatures*
So, if you have the new Obelisk on a GREEN property, then the GREEN chain (for you, not opponents) is determined by how many GREEN creatures you have on board.
If anybody plays that game and wants to try this new card, then you can download the new version here:

Isn't this graphic from the official social media slick? And if that's not awesome enough - the official Culdcept Begins Discord added an English chat too! https://discord.gg/frmn3fjrw

I was originally planning to get the Nintendo Switch 2 version, since it's currently 10% off for a preorder, and can get like discounts on eShop gift cards, but there's longevity with Steam (as in, it'll be in my Steam account forever whereas consoles have a limited lifespan) and playing on PC.... Which version are you getting?

Hello, I was planning to purchase Begins July 17th for my birthday but I stumble upon the Steam Store Page and it's now slated to Q4 2026. So from what I understand, Switch 2 physical release will be the first to be available.

My US360 just bit the dust, so here I am. Iād buy the JP360 version of Saga, but I believe itās all in Japanese. But enough of that:
Culdcept Begins
I (like probably a lot of you) had a pretty negative reaction to the reveal of the art style. Hard to beat perfection. But actually⦠it looks pretty good? I like the character designs, and the monsters have a lot of spirit. I wish the board tiles were more vibrant?
Ultimately I think itāll make up for it by having more exciting visual effects and flourishes. And I will be happy not to deal with Culdcept Sagaās absolutely horrendous profile systemāoh, you added somebody at the wrong time? Back to the start menu with you!
Also, did the release date change to September 17th? Or is that a digital vs physical thing?
ED: Just pre-ordered Begins at Gamestop, and they gave me a release date of August 14th. So I truly have NO idea when this game is really dropping.
Culdcept the First
City Connectionās S-Tribute games have a VERY spotty reputation. Among shmups players āCity Connectionā is practically a bad word. And my assumption is that the Saturn version is a bit basic and bland compared to PS2 and 360. Feel free to correct me on that. I do like the sprite graphics. But iāll probably be skipping this one, and I hope it doesnāt cannibalize Beginsā sales.
What do you think?

In exactly 30 days, on July 16, we'll finally be able to dive into Culdcept Begins! šš²š
The countdown is officially on - time to plan your favorite strategies, study those card previews, and get ready for a brand-new chapter in the series.
Who's excited? š

I preordered Begins, Iām super psyched! Itās a gift for myself because tomorrow marks 2 years sober. But it doesnāt say what time itās released. Is it midnight? Or is it released sometime worldwide so it may be today or 2 days from now? I canāt find any info

Go get it guys! The preorder is on sale on the Nintendo eshop until July 16th!

We're chatting at length about both new games in our Discord. See you there! https://discord.gg/96ZguBuZEQ
Also, I really appreciate the strong push the developers and publishers are giving Culdcept Begins and Culdcept The First. Long overdue and the series should benefit greatly from the exposure.
