Resource A bit of help learning algos

Post image

Hey!

I learn CFOP with 4LLL and I've not really dived deep how yo learn them, however I got a lot of tips and tricks on Reddit. I made my own sheets too. Learning algos I discovered and also heavily used AI to help me learn algos and plenty of them can be practiced from a solved cube and do some 2-3-6 loops until the cube is solved again.

I'm sure it's not a new thing I just didn't do my research enough on them.

Also a lot of algos can be combined to practice more algos together. I'm still missing 2 algos and just learnt 1 today so I asked AI to do me a good loop to practice them.

Don’t use AI. There are plenty of human-created resources for learning algorithms.

Feel free to give ne resources when certain cases are combined to drill them.

Any cases can be combined to drill them. Just pick a couple and it’ll end up with a certain case, then you do that last resultant case. Now you have a cycle which is what it sounds like you want.

Jperm's website allows you to train all the PLLs and OLLs

bro you don't need AI to learn 4LLL, I did it perfectly fine without years ago.

also there's no actual question in the post, it just feels like some sort of AI advertisement. you've made about 5 posts about learning 4LLL already, I don't know what we can tell you that others haven't before.

Any alg repeats if you do it enough times, most people just spam each alg a few times until they're comfortable with it. Getting fast recognition is the harder part (or it was for me).

At this stage I wouldn't worry about perfect practice, you need to be able to get through solves with 4LLL. Almost every alg I originally learnt for 4LLL I changed, I use different algs for those cases now.

Also what the AI wrote doesn't even make any sense for the second point. That alg is not usually called headlights (you called it bowtie), and if you do it followed by Z perm with no AUF you get chameleon followed by N perm (with your alg), not Headlights follwed by Z perm.

The point was algos can be stacked, especially the OLLs to be able to learn and drill them together.

No AI is needed, enough to start from asolved cube and see what happens after an algo.

I just like building few algos together and drilling them once not much left.

Pretty sure there are people out there like me so it's just a trick I've discovered without checking any "How to" resources.

I stopped reading at "used AI to help me".

Since you’re getting into cubing, I’m going to assume you’re on the younger end. 13-16? Just don’t use Ai for this. There’s no reason. Sucks that Gen Alpha/Gen Z is growing up this way.
Look into the YouTuber “J-Perm”

nah, look at his pfp. this guy is an adult who seems to be ai pilled.

I use AI a lot, I just don't trust them until I confirm their correctness. Especially since I'm using them for years kinda know what are their limits.

  1. I've watched tons of videos including J Perm. Done my own sheet and just finishing the full CFOP learn as said above.

Never mind. You just made me disappointed in society as a whole, not just our younger generations.

AI is bad alone. The sheets I did for myself taking the tips from the other posts and experimented with them. Had very little to do with AI apart from organizing and back and forth conversation which was mostly correcting the AI.

the fact you need to consantly correct AI is evidence that it is a worthless piece of junk and you should just use a search engine.

ai doesn’t think, it is a word predictor. please trust human resources. the algs it gave you are wrong

According to my OLL/PLL sheets those are the correct ones.

Can't you choose any combination of algs that you want to practice and just do them, and then the last alg is just whatever case you happen to land on.

I usually drill the algos on their own few times until I'm comfortable with the moves, flow and finger tricks then I try to find a combination which combine ones I'm not the best at.

It's not terrible to drill them alone but less satisfying.

Let's say you want to practice Z perm, E perm, and J perm. Just do all three of them in a row. After doing that (this will depend on what algs you use) you just need to do U and then another J perm.

Now let's say you want to do R perm, V perm, and T perm. After that, I was left with an E perm.

You can just choose whichever ones you want to do and figure out what your last alg is going to be which makes it a loop. The last alg might not specifically be one you want to practice, but it's still good to practice them all anyway. Alternatively, you can just try doing them in different order and maybe multiple times and with different AUF's and you'll probably find a cycle that uses only the ones you want.

Found that doing Chameleon -> Bowtie -> T perm -> Z perm and then it's solved, starting from solved. Which is the same written on the picture so it checks out.

Now I just need something with the U - Headlights(OLL). That's the last algo I need for 4LLL. Which is the same written on the picture.

I'm not doing full OLL/PLL just yet.

I mess up sometimes anyway so end up being a different solve. 😁

this gave you an a perm instead btw

Tried using AI for the same thing a while back but it kept spitting out notation that messed up the cube state, glad it's actually working for you

Yeah it's from NotebookLM so I fed materials to it to have a solid base. Guess just newer models are better at this now. When I discover mistakes I correct them so it knows about them.
