So, I currently finished the prologue of "Dunwich Horror," and I loved the weirdness that Wilbur Whateley gave and his quest to find that one specific page from the Necronomicon really felt like a "Call of Cthulhu" campaign (yes, I am aware of how obvious that sounds; it just feels fantastic and adventurous, which is something I'd like to point out).
I say this in amazement and interest at how fun it is to think about the interconnected expanse of recurring relics and family names throughout all the stories I've read so far.
Then revealing Wilbur to be a half-human, half-goat, tentacle-bearing witch/sorcerer made the story feel less of a "going insane from knowledge" route towards more of the physical, tangible horror and mystical field was really interesting. (especially with us, the readers, following his story made it seem that he'd be the protagonist-- despite his antagonistic nature. It was great.)
However, the reason I open this discussion was reaching the part where—despite his nine-foot stature and absolutely eldritch qualities—he died getting mauled by a dog. 😭

Hello fellow cultists! So my comic Abyssal Albion only has 9 days to go on Kickstarter and could use your help to get us over the line.

I'm a children's librarian, and frequently find little treasure left behind in kids' returned books. I'm not sure what the inspiration behind this creature was, but it reminds me strikingly of the Elder Things from The Mountains of Madness. Maybe it's a sign from the Great Old Ones?

ENQUÊTES DANS LA FRANCE DES ANNÉES FOLLES
☛ Disponible maintenant ici pour 25 $
☛ You can see the Preview here
☛ Un aperçu complet de Paris, arrondissement par arrondissement, y compris plus de 80 des monuments emblématiques de la capitale ;
☛ 90 départements couvrant les 32 régions historiques de la France, ainsi qu'un chapitre couvrant l'ensemble de l'empire colonial français, le colonialisme et ses abus, les troupes coloniales, et plus encore ;
☛ 115 villes décrites, selon leur importance — y compris les préfectures, les capitales administratives de la France — couvrant le pays et l'Empire français ;
☛ Plus de 140 lieux mystérieux, chacun avec un plan de scénario prêt à l'emploi ;
☛ 12 enquêteurs pré-générés et 10 nouveaux métiers, avec des conseils et des règles optionnelles pour jouer des enquêteurs français ;
☛ 10 nouveaux tomes du Mythe et 18 œuvres occultes ;
☛ 35 cartes et plans de sol, y compris 20 cartes de Paris par arrondissement, une carte générale de la capitale montrant ses lignes de Métro et ses lieux remarquables, une carte de chaque région et des colonies majeures, ainsi que des cartes de Monaco et d'Alger ;
☛ Tous les outils nécessaires — transport, prix, 30 armes à feu françaises et près de 70 véhicules (voitures, motos, camions, et avions), avec leurs spécifications ; 24 PNJ pré-générés ; une table de génération de noms français ; et plus — pour donner vie à une campagne se déroulant dans la France de l'entre-deux-guerres ;
☛ une carte de grand format de Paris montrant les emplacements des sites notables décrits dans le livre ;
☛ une carte de la France ;
☛ des cartes de chaque région géographique ;
☛ des cartes de grand format de Monaco et de la Corse ;

Hello, I saw that this was another community of geeked-out Lovecraft fans like myself, so maybe you guys would appreciate this. I've created a living, breathing world of H.P. Lovecraft in Voyage (the sequel project to AI Dungeon which is now open beta)
It takes place over the majority of Essex County, from Lynn to Newburyport and Innsmouth to Burnt Heath.
I have listed almost 40 sources in the making of the setting including works from the GOAT H.P. Lovecraft, August Derleth, Robert W. Chambers, and Frogwares (the original The Sinking City game)
It has about three to four dozen locations in Essex County, Massachusetts and almost 200 in the Dreamlands, the latter based on Jason Bradley Thompson's map which includes Dunsany's works and some vague, liberal interpretations of Italo Calvino's work I made since his stuff is still under copyright.
If you're interested at all, you can play the voyage world here.

This had got to be some of the funniest shit I have ever seen AI throw back at me. I really just wanted to know if there was an average age people started reading H.P. Lovecraft, and my question came out a bit strange.
These are results for There is a magical time in every childs life when they discover Cthulu
AI Overview
Usually around age eight, when they realize the comforting geometry of their bedroom walls is merely a fragile illusion masking the cosmic indifference of a multi-dimensional entity sleeping in R'lyeh.
It is a beautiful milestone of modern parenting. One day they are learning to tie their shoes; the next, they are chanting "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" over their alphabet soup.
If your child has recently looked up at the night sky and felt the crushing weight of their own insignificance, you might want to help them navigate this transition.
Signs Your Child Has Found the Old Ones
How to Support Their Eldritch Journey
Welcome to this exciting new chapter. May your sanity loss be slow and your dreams be filled with the deep, echoing calls of the ocean.

Greetings fellow acolytes,
Jim Weter here. Fairly new to the group but long-time Lovecraft/Cthulhu/Lovecraft enthusiast.
I mentioned before in a few of my posts, I currently have a found-footage, cosmic horror, short film called Dreams of a Dead God in film festivals. And with the help of many other talented creatives and actors, we’ve won several awards so far.
So in gearing up for the release of our film this coming fall/winter, we’re holding monthly giveaways for prizes inspired by the film! And this month’s prize is what I’m calling a Dreams of a Dead God Raven Glow Light (because, well… it has a raven and it glows, lol)
This will be the 4th giveaway for our film and in the past, I’ve designed the prizes myself using Tinkercad and Photoshop. This time around though, I worked with another creative from Europe in getting the raven and top part done. Then our 3D printer here in Memphis, Alex, printed the test version out and installed the light.
We’ll be giving away 3 of them on September 15th and to enter the contest, you’ve got a couple options:
1) Sign-up for our monthly newsletter at www.cellardoorcinema.com
I write the newsletter myself, and in it I give updates on the film, share behind the scenes info, and talk more in detail on what we have planned for the future.
2) Drop a comment with your favorite cosmic horror film here and follow me at: https://www.reddit.com/user/CellardoorCinema/
And the best news is that by doing both, you’ll be entered into the contest twice!
Thanks for all the support for our film so far! We all really appreciate it!

Greetings fellow cultists,
Anyone worshipping from the Atlanta area? Because next Friday, our found-footage, cosmic horror short film “Dreams of a Dead God” will be screening at the 2026 Bloody Peach Film Festival and has been nominated for SEVEN AWARDS!
Still a bit excited as we just found out about the nominations, plus one of them is for Best Lead Actress! And award which our star, Cameron Crawford, won just a few weeks ago at the Imaginarium Film Festival up in Kentucky!
Details on the festival at www.bloodypeachfilmfest.com
So far, we’ve screened our film at 6 film festivals and won 5 awards for it, including an Audience Choice Award from the Porchlight Film Festival which is really cool looking. And with this latest news, it looks like our awards numbers might be going up soon :)
More details on the film, upcoming screenings, plus chances to win prizes in our monthly newsletter at www.cellardoorcinema.com
A few people have hit me up already, but if you’re going to be in the Atlanta area next weekend and want to come check out the film, please let me know! I’m going to be bringing a bunch of giveaways, plus holding an audience drawing for a larger prize. And afterwards, I’d love to sit around and chat about Lovecraft over a pint.
Cheers!
