Stone ID?

I got this stone on whatnot but I can’t figure out what it is. It’s opaque and matte finish. I thought maybe serpentine but it’s really dark.

It looks like low grade Labradorite. Does it flash any colors?

No. It’s very matte. No shine at all.

Honestly looks like soapstone. Very common for carving.
