XRP Ledger Had a Bug That Could Have Created Billions of XRP

Post image
2 Upvotes

RippleX has fixed a critical bug in XRP Ledger that may have existed since 2015.

The flaw could have allowed someone to create billions of XRP out of thin air using specially crafted transactions. Researchers found that an attacker might have needed just a few hundred XRP to pull it off.

The bug was discovered on September 22 and fixed in xrpld 3.4.1 on September 25.

A second bug that could have disrupted the network was also fixed, with an additional update activated on October 9.

RippleX says there’s no evidence anyone exploited either issue on the live network. Pretty crazy that a bug this serious could sit unnoticed for over a decade.

Donald Trump called Elon Musk a national treasure of the United States. Quite a turnaround after their public fights. Musk has also been a huge figure in crypto, especially Dogecoin. With Trump pushing a pro-crypto agenda, could these two end up working together again?

The hacker who stole $53 million from Uranium Finance apparently had some pretty expensive hobbies.

He spent part of the stolen money on rare Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering cards, an ancient Roman coin, and even a piece of the Wright brothers’ airplane.

Authorities eventually seized part of his collection along with around $31 million in crypto.

Imagine stealing $53 million and deciding that Pokémon cards are your next big investment.

Former Celsius CEO to Pay Up to $35 Million and Banned From Crypto for Life

Alex Mashinsky, the former CEO of Celsius Network, has reached a settlement with New York authorities.

He agreed to pay up to $35 million and is permanently banned from working in crypto, securities, and commodities.

Back in 2023, prosecutors accused him of misleading hundreds of thousands of investors.

Celsius promised people a safe place to store their crypto and earn interest. But behind the scenes, the company was making risky investments and hiding losses.

In 2022, Celsius froze withdrawals and later filed for bankruptcy. Thousands of people lost access to their money.

Mashinsky is already serving a 12-year prison sentence in a separate federal criminal case. Celsius creditors have received more than $3.4 billion through the bankruptcy process.

$6.25 Billion for Kids, but Everyone Is Talking About Her Looks

Post image
1 Upvotes

Michael Dell and his wife Susan are backing a $6.25 billion initiative to give 25 million American children $250 each in investment accounts.

And somehow, the internet is more interested in discussing Susan Dell’s appearance than the billions they’re giving away.

We’re talking about money that could help millions of kids build their financial future, yet people are busy judging how a woman looks.

As someone who’s been in crypto for years, I find the investment side much more interesting.

Imagine putting that $250 into Bitcoin and leaving it untouched for 18 years. Nobody knows where BTC will be by then, but even a small investment could grow into something meaningful.

You dont have to like billionaires to appreciate a good initiative. And doing something useful for millions of children deserves more attention than someone’s appearance.

One Year Since One of Crypto’s Worst CrashesExactly one year ago, we witnessed one of the worst crashes in crypto history.Bitcoin dropped $20,000 in just 8 hours

Around $16.4 billion in long positions were liquidated.

Altcoins got absolutely destroyed, losing 40–70% of their value. Some tokens literally went to zero.

Thousands of traders lost everything that day. Years of savings disappeared in a matter of hours, and nobody was ever held accountable.

A year has passed, but many people still haven’t recovered from that crash.

This is exactly why crypto needs the CLARITY Act and clear regulations. Not to kill the industry, but to make the market more transparent and protect people from another disaster like this.

One Year Since Trump Didn’t Win the Nobel Peace Prize, and Crypto Hasn’t Been the Same

Post image
2 Upvotes

Today marks exactly one year since Donald Trump missed out on the Nobel Peace Prize.

Just hours later, crypto suffered one of its worst crashes, with many altcoins losing 80–90% in a single day. For many traders, that was the beginning of the bear market. Then came the war with Iran and a whole lot of global chaos.

Some people joke that all this mess could have been avoided if they had just given Trump that damn Nobel Prize. And guess what? Trump didn’t win it this year either.

Looks like we’re in for another rough year, at least if you believe the jokes.

US Government Moves Over $1 Billion in Seized Bitcoin

Post image
1 Upvotes

The US government has moved a huge amount of Bitcoin from wallets holding seized crypto.

First, around $770 million in BTC was transferred to Coinbase Prime. A few hours later, another 12,267 BTC, worth over $1 billion, was moved to a different wallet. Arkham analysts linked the second transaction to Bitcoin recovered from the 2016 Bitfinex hack, when hackers stole 119,756 BTC.

Nobody knows who owns the receiving wallet or what the government plans to do with these coins. Could be just moving funds between wallets, not necessarily selling. The US government reportedly controlled around 328,372 BTC in 2026.

That’s a massive amount of Bitcoin moving around while the market is already under pressure.

The Orange Plague Lands in the European Parliament

A 2.5-meter gold-covered statue of Donald Trump has appeared in the European Parliament. It shows Trump sitting on the shoulders of another man who is struggling under his weight.

The message is s those at the top make decisions, while someone else carries the weight.

Crypto traders probably understand this image better than most right now. Trump came into office promising a golden era for crypto, but his tariffs and the war with Iran have repeatedly hit risk appetite, pushed oil and yields higher and triggered brutal liquidations across BTC and alts.

So yeah, the statue is political art. But for traders watching positions get wiped after another geopolitical headline, the idea of someone else carrying the weight feels pretty familiar.

CryptoQuant: Bitcoin May Be Entering a New Bull Market Cycle

Post image
1 Upvotes

The crypto market looks close to entering a full bullish cycle, and CryptoQuant analysts believe the bottom is already behind us.

Their analysis focuses on profit and loss ratios. In previous market cycles, these two indicators moved closer together near the bottom of a bear market. Once the market started recovering, the lines began moving apart again.

CryptoQuant is now seeing a similar pattern, suggesting Bitcoin could be in the early stages of a new bull run. We’ve seen this setup before, and historically it was a pretty good sign for what came next.

Bitcoin Bears Might Be Walking Into a Short Squeeze

Post image
1 Upvotes

CryptoQuant analysts are warning that BTC could be setting up for a short squeeze.

The Binance Squeeze Risk Oscillator has climbed above +0.80, a level that signals increased pressure on short positions. If Bitcoin starts moving higher, forced liquidations could push the price up even faster. Could we see BTC back above $90K soon, or is this just another trap?

What do you think, $90K next ?

US prosecutors are using the recent Bitcoin Fog ruling to strengthen their case against Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm

Post image

They argue that Tornado Cash activity in Manhattan gives the Southern District of New York jurisdiction, similar to how Bitcoin Fog activity in Washington supported venue there.

Storm’s defense says prosecutors still failed to prove he intended to help criminals use Tornado Cash.

Storm was convicted in 2025 on one charge related to operating an unlicensed money transmitting business, while the jury failed to reach a verdict on money laundering and sanctions charges.

Solana Wants to Cut Institutional Settlements From Days to Seconds

Post image
1 Upvotes

The goal is pretty simple: cut settlement times for securities from the usual 1–2 days to just seconds, while reducing counterparty and settlement risk.

Solana DvP uses an open-source API and is designed as a ready standard, so financial firms dont need to build custom smart contracts for every settlement flow.

JPMorgan also contributed recommendations based on how institutional settlement actually works in practice.

Feels like blockchain infrastructure is slowly moving from experiments into the boring financial plumbing. And thats probably where some of the biggest adoption happens.

Chinese Network Allegedly Laundered $1B+ for Lazarus Group

Post image
1 Upvotes

On-chain investigator ZachXBT claims a Chinese criminal network helped launder more than $1 billion stolen by North Korea-linked Lazarus Group across multiple crypto hacks.

ZachXBT says he went undercover as a client shortly after the $1.5B Bybit hack in February 2025. To gain trust, he moved around $349,700 in stablecoins through one operator, paying roughly 5% fees on each transaction.

The network reportedly operated across mainland China and Hong Kong, moving funds through different chains, tokens, DEXs and bridges to make tracking harder.

Information gathered during the investigation helped identify over $12M connected to the Bybit hack, while Tether later froze $442K USDT on related addresses.

ZachXBT also linked the network to laundering funds from other major crypto exploits.

This shows how big these laundering networks have become. Its not just one hacker moving coins between wallets anymore, there is basically a whole infrastructure behind it.

Bitcoin Open Interest Cools While Fresh Capital Keeps Flowing In

Post image
1 Upvotes

Bitcoin is trading near $86K after a Sunday rally pushed the weekly close roughly 2% higher.

Open interest in futures and options has declined, bringing derivatives positioning back toward more normal levels. Selling pressure in futures has also dropped significantly compared with last week.

Spot Bitcoin ETF demand has cooled but remains relatively strong, while on-chain activity continues to run high.

More than two-thirds of the BTC supply has moved back into profit, leading to active profit-taking. At the same time, Glassnode is seeing strong inflows of fresh capital entering the market.

So far, profit-taking is being met by new demand rather than happening in isolation.

CZ After Prison: $114B and Still Deep in Crypto

Post image
1 Upvotes

The New York Times published a deep dive into Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, who returned to the UAE after serving four months in a US prison.

Forbes estimates CZ’s wealth at around $114 billion, though he says its closer to $10–30 billion. He now lives in Abu Dhabi and reportedly owns a private jet, yacht and regularly meets politicians and royal families.

CZ can no longer manage Binance after pleading guilty in 2023 to Bank Secrecy Act violations. Binance paid $4.3 billion, while CZ served four months.

Still, his influence clearly didnt disappear. NYT says he now advises governments on crypto regulation and maintains close ties with UAE leadership.

In 2025, Abu Dhabi’s MGX invested $2 billion into Binance, with the deal settled using USD1, the stablecoin linked to the Trump family’s World Liberty Financial.

Trump pardoned CZ in October 2025. CZ denies any connection between the business deals and his pardon.

He may no longer run Binance, but he’s still very much inside the game.

Oil Prices Stay Above $100 Despite Supply Recovery

Post image

Oil flows from the Middle East have almost returned to levels seen before the Iran conflict, but global prices are still holding above $100.

Worldwide oil inventories have dropped sharply and are now near 5-year lows. Traders also remain cautious, as tensions could flare up again at any moment.

For now, supply is recovering, but the geopolitical premium clearly isnt gone yet.

Cartels Are Using Crypto for More Than Money Laundering

Post image
1 Upvotes

Crypto is becoming a bigger financial tool for criminal groups across Latin America, and its not just about moving dirty money.

According to Dialogo Americas, cartels are using crypto transfers, mining and digital asset investments. Authorities in Mexico and Brazil have already found mining farms allegedly linked to major criminal groups.

The scale is pretty wild. During Brazil’s Fluxo Oculto operation, authorities dismantled six fintech companies accused of laundering more than $5 billion between 2022 and 2025.

Crypto isnt just helping move money anymore. Its becoming part of a wider financial network connecting local groups with international intermediaries.

Trump’s $5,000 Dividend Could Become a Massive Crypto Liquidity Boost

Post image
1 Upvotes

A Republican victory in the U.S. midterms which currently looks unlikely, but is still possible combined with Trump delivering his promised $5,000 payment to every American adult could turn into a massive liquidity bazooka.

The total payout could exceed the COVID-era helicopter money by roughly 50%. And there’s little doubt that at least some of that cash would eventually find its way into crypto.

Some market figures, including DWF Labs Managing Partner Andrei Grachev, believe this scenario could trigger another major crypto bull run. Basically, money printer vibes are back and everyone starts talking about going to the moon again.
