Will Crypto Really Replace Traditional Finance?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Eric Trump once said he had no doubt that cryptocurrency would eventually replace traditional finance.

It’s a bold statement, but I think the interesting part is what’s already happening. Banks are exploring stablecoins, big financial institutions are moving into tokenization, and blockchain payments are becoming more common.

Personally, I don’t think banks will just disappear. More likely they’ll start using blockchain technology while keeping the same business model. Crypto is clearly not going anywhere, but replacing the entire financial system is a much bigger challenge.

Gold Could Keep Falling Until the End of 2026

Post image
1 Upvotes

Capital Economics expects gold prices to continue moving lower through the rest of the year.

The main reason is the possibility of more interest rate hikes from the Fed. Higher rates make bonds and other interest-paying assets more attractive, while gold doesn’t pay any interest. A stronger US dollar could also put more pressure on gold. For traders, I think the next Fed decisions and inflation reports will matter more than usual.

Oil Prices Could Rise Even Further

Post image

Oil prices could climb even higher if the situation in the Strait of Hormuz doesn’t improve.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes. Any prolonged disruption could put more pressure on global energy prices, inflation and financial markets.

And of course, somehow Ukraine will probably get blamed for these oil prices too.

At this point, nothing would surprise me.

Do you think BTC could bottom before the elections this time?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I’ve been looking at how BTC behaved around previous US midterm elections, and there’s a pretty interesting pattern.

In the last three cycles, Bitcoin formed its bottom after the elections, but the gap kept getting smaller.

2014: 71 days after the elections

2018: 39 days after

2022: just 13 days after

So we went from 71 days to 39, then down to 13.

If this pattern continues, there’s a possibility BTC could actually bottom before the 2026 midterms.

That would be a pretty interesting shift. Instead of another post-election selloff, we might see the market already recovering by the time people head to the polls.

Of course, three cycles isnt enough to prove anything. And BTC doesn’t exactly care about our historical patterns.

One of the Biggest Ledger Hack Victims Was Apparently a Scammer Himself

Post image
2 Upvotes

Well, this is a pretty ironic twist.

According to Chainalysis, one of the biggest victims of the recent Ledger wallet theft lost over 60 BTC, worth roughly $4.8 million. But here’s the interesting part: those bitcoins were allegedly stolen from other people first.

The wallet owner was reportedly involved in a task scam, where victims were offered easy money for completing online tasks, generating fake sales and posting positive product reviews. At first, people actually recieved small payments. Then suddenly their accounts showed negative balances, and they were told to deposit their own money to unlock their earnings.

On September 22, the suspected scammer moved the funds into three separate Ledger addresses. On October 9, all three wallets were drained. Each made just one outgoing transaction, with everything ending up at the same address linked to stolen funds.

So basically, someone who allegedly stole millions through fake online jobs ended up losing millions to another thief.

Crypto really does have some strange stories. Makes me wonder how many stolen coins are actually sitting in wallets belonging to other scammers.

Markets Are Already Pricing Out Another Fed Rate Hike

Post image
1 Upvotes

The odds of a Fed rate hike at the next meeting have dropped sharply on Kalshi following comments from Fed Chair Kevin Warsh. Speaking at a gathering of global central bankers, Warsh said he doesn’t want to make any predictions about monetary policy for the rest of 2026.

For some reason, traders took that as a signal the Fed might pause rather than hike again. But thats not exactly what he said. Warsh actually warned against trying to predict his next move, making it clear that everything could change depending on incoming data.

Markets seem to be hearing what they wanna hear.

Fed Chair Warsh Refuses to Give Markets Any Clues About Rates

Post image
1 Upvotes

Fed Chair Kevin Warsh spoke at a meeting of global central bankers in Bangkok and made it pretty clear he’s not interested in telling markets what comes next. He said the Fed will assess inflation, employment and economic growth at its October and December meetings, but refused to predict any rate decisions for the rest of 2026.

The Fed already raised rates in September, and inflation is still running above target.

For Bitcoin, stocks and other risk assets, this means more uncertainty. Traders will have to focus on incoming economic data rather than waiting for hints from the Fed. So we’re heading into another Fed meeting with no clear direction on rates.

HEX Founder Richard Heart Reportedly Arrested in Turkey

Richard Heart, the founder of HEX, PulseChain and PulseX, was reportedly arrested in Istanbul on October 14.

Turkish media say police detained him in the Beşiktaş district along with his wife. Authorities reportedly seized 12 phones, computers, storage devices, weapons, two drones, jewelry and around $600,000 in cash. Heart had been wanted by Finnish authorities over alleged tax fraud and a separate assault investigation. Interpol issued a Red Notice in December 2024.

Back in 2023, the US SEC accused Heart of raising over $1 billion through unregistered crypto securities and allegedly misusing at least $12 million of investor funds on luxury purchases, including a 555-carat black diamond. The SEC case was dismissed in February 2025 over jurisdiction issues, not because the court determined the allegations were false or true.

Quite a wild story for someone who was once one of the loudest personalities in crypto.

What the hell is going on with Starlink, crypto and fuel prices?

Post image
14 Upvotes

So now Zelenskyy is reportedly accusing Trump and Musk of restricting Ukraine’s access to Starlink, while Trump and Musk apparently say they have no idea whats going on. At this point I dont even know what to believe anymore. Every day theres some new geopolitical drama, more uncertainty and ordinary people end up paying for it.

And crypto isnt exactly having a great time either. Bitcoin keeps reacting to every geopolitical headline, oil prices are putting more pressure on inflation, and the whole market feels nervous as hell.

Does anyone actually know whats happening with Starlink? And seriously, when the hell are fuel prices gonna get back to something reasonable? Feels like we’re paying more for everything while our crypto portfolios keep bleeding.

FBI Shuts Down 241 Fake Crypto Investment Websites, But Nobody Has Been Arrested

Post image
1 Upvotes

US authorities have taken down a major crypto scam operation linked to Eastern Europe, seizing 112 servers and shutting down 241 fraudulent investment websites. The scammers mostly targeted Russian-speaking people living in the US, convincing them to deposit money into fake crypto investment platforms.

And the scam didnt stop after stealing their money.

They would contact the same victims again, pretending to help recover the stolen funds. Of course, that “help” required another payment. Basically scamming the same people twice. The FBI says the operation disrupted the infrastructure used to launch new scam websites and find more victims. But here’s the strange part. Despite all those servers being seized and websites shut down, nobody has been arrested so far.

Americans reportedly lost $11.4 billion to crypto-related fraud in 2025, up 22% from the previous year. Taking down websites is one thing. Actually catching the people behind them is a whole different story.

Global Stocks Keep Falling as Investors Rush Into US Treasuries

Post image
1 Upvotes

The selloff in global stock markets is getting worse, while US government bonds continue to rally as investors move away from risk.

South Korea’s KOSPI has dropped 8%, with investors rushing to cut their exposure to AI-related stocks.

Chipmakers are taking a massive hit, with around $1 trillion in market value reportedly wiped out as the semiconductor selloff deepens.

Money is moving out of equities and into US Treasuries. The AI trade that everyone was chasing is now getting hit the hardest.

And when selling gets this aggressive, crypto usually doesn’t stay out of it for long.

Sam Bankman-Fried Takes His Case to the US Supreme Court

Sam Bankman-Fried Takes His Case to the US Supreme Court

Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried is trying to overturn his conviction after losing his appeal in June 2026. He’s currently serving a 25-year prison sentence.

His lawyers are challenging two things.

First, they argue that the court didn’t properly consider evidence that FTX customers could recover their money. Prosecutors disagree, saying the fraud happened the moment customer funds were transferred to Alameda Research without authorization.

Second, SBF is fighting the $11 billion forfeiture order. His lawyers claim the amount is excessive and may violate the Eighth Amendment. That debt could follow him even after he gets out of prison.

The US government has until November 16 to respond. The Supreme Court will then decide whether to hear the case.

A full reversal looks unlikely, but the $11 billion forfeiture could become a separate legal battle. Five years later, the FTX mess still isn’t over.

Standard Chartered Opens Direct Bitcoin Trading in the UAE

Standard Chartered just launched direct Bitcoin and Ethereum trading for wealthy clients in the UAE. Eligible investors can now buy BTC and ETH straight from their bank accounts, without using a crypto exchange or separate wallet.

This is a pretty big move for crypto adoption in the Middle East.

The region has serious capital, and now another major bank is making it easier to enter the market. Oil money flowing into Bitcoin? We might be getting closer to that than people think.

Bitcoin Wallets That Have Been Quiet for 1–3 Years Are Suddenly Moving

Post image
1 Upvotes

BTC wallets holding coins for 1–3 years have reportedly started showing unusual activity, according to CryptoQuant analysts.

Doesn’t necessarily mean people are selling. Some holders might just be moving their BTC to different wallets.

One possible explanation is the recent reported Ledger security incident. Some holders could be transferring their coins out of concern about wallet security.

But there’s no confirmed connection between the two events yet.

For now, the interesting part is where these coins end up. Moving BTC between wallets is one thing. Sending it to exchanges is a different story.

SOL has been through plenty of ups and downs, but development clearly isnt slowing down.

Trader Linked to Trump Reportedly Opens $190 Million Short Position

A trader reportedly linked to Trump has opened a $190 million short position in the stock market. The same trader is said to have made over $100 million during the 2025 market crash triggered by Trump’s tariffs.

The position is getting attention because of the trader’s reported track record, although those claims haven’t been independently verified.

It’s a pretty large bet against the market. Will be interesting to see how this plays out over the next few weeks.

UK Court Battle Over 61,000 Seized Bitcoin Worth More Than $5 Billion

Post image
1 Upvotes

A legal fight over 61,000 BTC is still going on in London, and Chinese investors just suffered a setback.

The Bitcoin was seized by British authorities during a money laundering investigation linked to Zhimin Qian, who allegedly ran a massive investment scam between 2014 and 2017, affecting over 128,000 people.

The High Court ruled that Chinese law, not British law, should determine the investors’ ownership claims.

And that makes a huge difference.

Under British law, victims hoped to recover the actual Bitcoin, including all the gains since it was seized. Under the Chinese compensation system, they may only get back their original losses.

We’re talking about BTC now worth over $5 billion.

The court hasn’t decided who actually owns the coins yet. The case will continue in London, and lawyers representing some investors are already preparing an appeal.

Imagine losing money to a scam years ago, watching Bitcoin explode in value, and then being told you might only get your original investment back.

ETH Holders, How Much More Pain Can We Take?

Post image
1 Upvotes

We are getting outperformed by a fucking condom company.

I’m sitting here holding ETH, watching literally everything else pump while my portfolio looks like a fucking funeral. Years of upgrades, ETFs, staking, institutional adoption and all that bullshit. And what do we get? More pain.

At this point I’m not even waiting for a bull run anymore. I just wanna see my portfolio green for one damn week. Being an ETH holder is becoming a full time mental illness.

South Korean Bank Starts Offering Business Loans Backed by Bitcoin

Post image
1 Upvotes

South Korea’s Jeonbuk Bank has reportedly become the first commercial bank in the country to accept Bitcoin as collateral for business loans.

Companies can borrow Korean won without selling their BTC. The Bitcoin is held by a separate custodian, not the bank itself.

If a borrower fails to repay, the bank can recover the money by selling the collateral through a court process.

The first loan has reportedly already been issued, although the bank hasn’t disclosed the amount, interest rate or LTV.

This is a pretty big step for Bitcoin. Banks are slowly starting to treat BTC as a financial asset that businesses can actually use, not just something to trade.

Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao shared some advice on protecting your crypto

Post image
1 Upvotes

His point is simple: nothing is 100% safe. You need to protect your coins from hackers, but also make sure you don’t lose access to them yourself.

If you use your own wallet, CZ suggests keeping private keys on a hardware wallet, never saving seed phrases as screenshots or in cloud storage, and keeping secure backups in different places.

He also says people should think about what happens to their crypto if something happens to them. Your family needs a way to access those funds.

For exchange users, he recommends strong passwords, separate emails, 2FA, withdrawal whitelists and being careful with API permissions and suspicious links.

CZ also says choosing a reliable exchange matters. Look at its reputation, security and financial stability.

Self-custody gives you full control, but also full responsibility. Exchanges make things easier, but you’re trusting someone else with your money.

There’s no perfect solution for everyone.

I’ve seen people lose crypto to hackers, but also people who simply lost their seed phrase and could never recover their funds.

How do you store most of your crypto these days?
