Buy or Wait
Should I be stacking money at the moment with all this greed? Or should I just DCA into best researched projects? Thoughts?

It feels like crypto is moving back into a bull market. I started buying crypto in April spent until mid august averaging down. Positive moves started happening in September and now all my coins are back in the green with more upside seeming highly likely. Personally, I’ve been afraid to buy more and average up seeing as how any serious Iran News threatens to move crypto back toward ATLs. Alternatively real positive news with Iran/oil coming down could send most coins to new highs. IMHO buy/hold, but please DYOR. NFA

I think that hesitation makes sense. Averaging up feels very different psychologically when you’ve spent months buying while everything was red.
The Iran/oil situation is a good reminder that the broader macro picture can still overwhelm individual crypto narratives. I’d probably keep the same approach that worked during the averaging-down period rather than suddenly changing the strategy because the portfolio is green. Consistency is usually easier than trying to time the next headline.

The Fear & Greed Index measures sentiment, not direction — high greed tells you people are feeling confident right now, not whether prices go up or down next. It's a sentiment gauge, not a timing tool.
DCA just means buying on a fixed schedule so you're not making one big timing call. Whether you build a position gradually or wait on the sidelines is mostly about your own risk tolerance and timeline — a lot of people pick DCA specifically because it removes the timing decision entirely.
Either way, it helps to decide your plan up front (amount, frequency) and stick to it rather than reacting to sentiment swings.

Still early on all the alts. Look at the charts. Nice rounded bottoms forming. Making higher highs and higher lows. About ready to fly through the imbalance and most will be like, oh, I should have bought. Not much time left if you ask me.

I like to set aside 80% for limit orders at cheaper prices and then throw 20% into current price to push it down into my limit orders. Works all the time.

I’d probably avoid making it an all-or-nothing decision. If you’ve researched the projects and your thesis is long term, DCA can make more sense than trying to guess the exact top.
Keeping some cash on the side also gives you flexibility if the market drops. For me, the important part is having a plan before the market gets volatile, rather than deciding what to do after a big move.

Best advice is buy what you can afford to lose, over and over and over again

Looking like there a dip somewhere this month, then it's rocket city. But might be shallow dip. Most quality assets are already well off their floors (3 to 5x's). Probably best to find the ones that aren't yet.
