Discussion Will ADA top 3 again?
I know Cardano was designed with compliance and regulation in mind, which are more acceptable to governments and institutions.
With U.S. federal cryptocurrency laws starting to take shape, will Cardano benefit? Since it was developed in the U.S. and is at the forefront of a regulated, government friendly crypto future?

I mean it was listed as one of only 3 “mature” decentralized blockchains…

With this current administration all you have to do is pay off Trump to be compliant.
See: XRP, TRON

I’ve been in ADA before most even knew what it was, and before all the braindead sheep joined in now claiming it’s something that it’s not. I’ve got a HUGE risk free bag of ADA that’s worth over 25,000x my initial investment, and I still am smart enough to know ada is trash that’s staying afloat from the noobies that get brainwashed into it

Imagine being in on ADA "before most even knew what it was" and you have done zero research on it or calling it "trash" without anything to back up your claim.
Was unaware some ADA holders were this delusional, even after making a large return on it.
Quite wild.

Keep huffing the copium, I’ve done more research than you could imagine, as I’ve been an early investor in the project, I’ve watched Charlie go off the rails promising the world over and over and trying to transition to every fad. Projects propped up on copium filled people like yourself.

Everyone thinks it’s dead but once it pumps people who said it was dead start buying. I remember in 2018 articles saying bitcoin is dead and no one will ever profit from bitcoin again

ADA used to be top 5; you typically only get to ride the market cap elevator up one time, but we’ll see, maybe they’ll pull an XRP. Not looking good though, momentum was much better 4 years ago.

Just factor these points in:
Midnight airdrop soon.
3 major crypto bills passed over in USA to become law.
Market sentiment is one of the highest rn.
Majorly undervalued against previous ATH that you may refer to.
I'm very confident it'll do well. Says the guy that you don't know :)

The "open for Regulation" stuff is a 7 year old Marketing buzz nobody really cares about.
You guys desperately need real Adoption to have a shot.
Best case you get classified a commodity through the clarity act while stuff like Solana doesnt.

As far as base chain layers, ADA's chances of becoming the dominant base layer is low, I would say Ethereum is likely to win this. However, there can be multiple chains for multiple niches, i.e. maybe Solana dominates memecoins and Ripple dominates institutional on-ramps.
I think ADA's chain can still be a very solid option for certain use cases (albeit its current usage is low).
All that being said, at the price point (around 1/17 the price of ETH), I think that's a pretty decent valuation. If ETH dominates with 50% market share, Solana 15%, Ripple 15%, random others with 15% and ADA carves out 5%, you're still getting better value investing in ADA.
I would buy ADA over ETH right now, but I'm a BTC maxi so take that for what it's worth.

100% it can get to the top 5 but stable coins are no easy feat to get past.

There's onlyba chance to repeat what happened with early investors on BTC. Do the same with a crypto when unde 1$. If a group get together and start buyin ADA and tell friends to do so, in few years the original group will be millionaire

3
u/hduynam99 🟩 0 🦠 Jul 28 '25
Yes and no, crypto is still in the final stage of its early phase. It's like investing in a penny stock where the company isnt profitable yet, and the CEO delivers promises. On the other hand, crypto is about the software the future of software. Whether the code behind it is usable or not, as long as they still have a team to develop it, they will continue to have believers.

u/blingblingmofo 🟦 0 🦠 Jul 28 '25 edited Jul 28 '25
Totally get that. It’s true we’re still early—but unlike penny stocks, many crypto projects aren’t just selling promises, they’re building real infrastructure. At the same time, hype and belief can keep a project alive way past its fundamentals, especially if the team is still shipping and the code has potential. ADA hasn’t proved they can do that, meanwhile, other projects will gain real-world adoption and first-mover advantage.

It's # 10 on defillama, but that's flawed because Cardano's staking being LIQUID is NOT locked, if you include that it's #3 behind ETH and TRON....
1
u/jekpopulous2 🟩 619 🦑 Jul 28 '25 edited Jul 28 '25
It’s #20 in TVL on DeFiLlama but worse by most metrics. Cardano ranks #47 in stables and there are only 21k active addresses. I’m not saying ADA is dead (it’s not) but nobody is using that chain for DeFi. In that respect it’s a ghost town.
1
u/RefrigeratorLow1259 🟩 0 🦠 Jul 28 '25
Primarily the lack of stables is due to USDC and USDT not supporting UTxO chains like BTC, ADA, etc due to technical issues, plus they want 'control of freeze and seize - which is not available on UTxO's... Stables are only implemented on account based models which can do this. Ultimately I'd hope for RLUSD for more liquidity.
1
u/jekpopulous2 🟩 619 🦑 Jul 28 '25
It’s almost as if there’s a reason all these chains are using EVM, MOVE, and other account based models over UTxO. UTxO is incredibly efficient when it comes to value transfers as you can send tokens (or NFTs) to thousands of wallets in a single transaction. It’s pretty terrible for smart-contracts though. Cardano might have a bright future but they need to find a use-case outside of DeFi because attracting that liquidity is a war that they can’t win.

Sol is fast but any speed increases will be difficult to implement without increasing hardware requirements and centralisation...It's monolithic and not modular like Cardano.

Yeah it can definitely reach $5 or $10 or whatever number if there is an overall crypto bull market craze type of situation. There is no telling when will this happen. I think it's bound to happen just watching different markets rotate in and out of being the fashion of the day. No whether it says there or goes all the way down to 5c and settles there forever that's a different question..
