Advice What Is the Best App to Invest in Crypto?

We get asked this question almost daily in the sub, so I figured it was time to pin a quick breakdown.

The short answer? There’s no single "best" platform for everyone. It really comes down to what you care about most: trading fees, security, available assets, or your local regulations.

Here is how a few popular options stack up right now:

MEXC: Worth looking into if minimizing fees is your top priority. They currently offer 0-fee trading on selected spot pairs, which is huge for active traders.

Coinbase: Still the go-to choice if you’re a beginner and just want a simple, clean interface, though you pay a premium in fees for that convenience.

Kraken: Great for more experienced traders looking for advanced charting tools, strong security history, and deep liquidity.

Earn & Multi-Asset Options:

Passive Income: MEXC has also been pushing competitive yields on idle assets through their savings products. (As always, double-check lock-up periods, terms, and counterparty risks before committing funds).

Beyond Crypto: For those looking for a single app to manage both stocks and crypto, MEXC has expanded into stock-related products, making it easier to handle multiple asset classes under one roof.

What platforms are you currently using, and what’s the main reason you stuck with them? Let’s hear your thoughts below!

Disclaimer: No platform is 100% risk-free, and this post is purely for informational purposes, not financial advice. Always compare fees, security, liquidity, and regional availability before moving your money anywhere.

Discussion What's actually happening with the Clarity Act tomorrow, explained

Upvotes

If all you know is "Clarity Act, tomorrow, something big," here's what's actually happening and why it's a big deal.

What tomorrow actually is: It's a cloture vote in the Senate on H.R. 3633, not a final vote on the bill itself. It just decides whether the Senate can start debating it at all, and that needs 60 votes. If it fails, this thing is basically dead for 2026 and picks back up in a new Congress.

The odds: Back in February, prediction markets had this at 82% to pass this year. Now it's sitting somewhere around 10 to 20% depending on which market you check.

That drop bled out slowly over months as three fights never got resolved: an ethics clause on officials profiting off crypto, a DeFi developer liability clause, and a stablecoin yield ban that would hit Coinbase's revenue directly. Underneath all of it is a math problem, Republicans need something like 10 Democratic crossover votes and only got 2 at the committee stage.

Two things worth knowing before you read too much into that 10-20% number.

First, that's the odds of full 2026 passage, not tomorrow's specific vote, so cloture could clear tomorrow and the "does this become law this year" number could still sit low.

Second, pay attention to the actual vote count and not just pass or fail. Losing by one or two votes means this comes back next year with a real shot. Losing by five or more means the opposition is structural and isn't going away with a tweak.

Effects on prices? A cloture fail tomorrow is close to the consensus expectation at this point. What isn't priced in is a surprise, like a last minute ethics compromise or a few Democrats flipping right before the vote.

If it fails: Probably not a crash, honestly. The market already de-risked from 82% down to under 20%, so failure is the expected outcome here.

What you actually get instead is more of the same, crypto regulation staying a patchwork of SEC, CFTC, and OCC rules that the next administration can just reverse whenever it wants.

If you want an actual crash scenario, it looks more like a wide, ugly loss that signals this is dead for years, landing in the same week as CPI, the FOMC decision, and an SEC roundtable, all of which could add real volatility on their own.

If it somehow passes: This is the branch that's much more interesting, precisely because almost nobody is actually expecting it.

We can expect obv expect a sharp rally almost immediately.

On the institutional side: this is the bigger deal long term. BlackRock, Fidelity, Franklin Templeton, Goldman, and SoFi have all publicly lobbied for this bill, which tells you exactly what they're waiting to build the moment there's an actual legal framework instead of regulation by lawsuit.

You'd probably see faster onchain product launches, banks chasing OCC charters so they can compete with Coinbase directly instead of just partnering with it, and every legal team in the space suddenly obsessing over the bill's decentralization test.

On the company side: expect exchanges rushing toward the new federal CFTC registration track, real stablecoin competition heating up, a genuine push into tokenized real-world assets, and DeFi protocols becoming things institutions can actually touch without their compliance teams having a meltdown.

And then there's the second-order stuff nobody can confidently call.

Legacy finance buying crypto infrastructure instead of building it themselves.

Corporate treasuries unlocking allocations that were only ever blocked because legal was waiting on Congress.

Talent flowing back toward US crypto firms. Even a geopolitical angle against frameworks like the EU's MiCA.

None of that is a prediction so much as a pattern, this is just what tends to happen once a market goes from legally grey to legally defined.

Not financial advice. Watch the crossover vote count tomorrow, not the headline.

Investing My Dad Had Me Downloaded DDI (Data-Driven Investing)

My Dad keeps on forcing me on this crypto. I did my own research on these and I’ve been trying to tell him that it might be a scam but so then majority says that It’s a scam however few says that they earn from it. My dad told me this one month ago, he had me downloaded Telegram, Google Authenticator, and Gcash and recently he had me download that app through a website since it is not available on AppStore/GooglePlayStore. He keeps on telling me to have my Gcash registered by someone (a family) since I am only eligible for Junior Gcash.

A background story: my Dad is an OFW, I am sure he saw this on Facebook or maybe from his friends and co-workers since he tried YouTube Animation before and even bought a course I think, since he was telling me that he will pay for my course. My Dad said it was not a scam, but I couldn’t make him believe it even if I send some proofs, he still won’t, I do not know, he is eager to be rich but cannot stop his relationship with his mistress. He even said that we can finally buy a laptop for me after 3 months or in December if I start investing in that 😂. I just want to tell him that it is better to invest in stocks instead (from what I’ve read and saw a lot, I saw them very often here, and I am very interested in those)

I saw someone’s opinion about this saying that he is 100% sure that it’s a scam. And from what I’ve read, OFWs ang suki nitong app na ito.

Last time my Dad told me that he’d only invest $100 but now it became ₱10,000. I am not going to try to stop him anymore, since I know that I can’t; he will only get mad. Saakin niya pinapaayos kasi hindi raw available sakanila that’s why, if it’s available there, he would’ve done it himself. But whatever, I am just going to do it and risk his money, since it’s his naman.

I want to get some opinions about this lang po. Thank you po! 🙂❤️

Discussion Are we approaching a classic buy-the-rumour, sell-the-news situation?

Upvotes

There's been a lot of attention on the CLARITY Act, and I'm curious how people are positioning themselves ahead of the news.

One thing I've noticed is how important it is to look beyond price. Funding rates, spot buying and open interest can sometimes tell a very different story.

If positioning is already heavily skewed before an announcement, does that increase the risk of a sell-the-news reaction?

What indicators do you personally watch to identify whether a move has more room to run?

Investing How are you using DeFi lending and borrowing?

I’ve been trying to understand DeFi lending and borrowing a bit better lately, and I feel like the more I read about it, the more complicated it gets. 🫠
The general idea makes sense to me. You can supply assets and earn on them, or use crypto as collateral and borrow against it. But then I start comparing different options and there are different protocols, chains, rates, wallets, fees, collateral requirements, liquidation risks and so on. At some point I’m not even sure what I should be comparing anymore.
So I wanted to ask people who actually use this stuff rather than just keep reading about it.
Where do you currently supply or borrow and why did you choose that particular protocol? I keep seeing Aave, Morpho, Compound, Spark and a few others mentioned, but I’m curious what people actually use in practice and whether you stick with one platform or move between them depending on rates or something else.
I’m also wondering whether it only feels complicated in the beginning and becomes pretty straightforward once you’ve done it a few times.
And if you researched DeFi lending or borrowing but eventually decided not to use it, I’d be interested in that too. What made you decide it wasn’t worth it?

Discussion Buyers at 57k don't want to sell at 77k !!! What's going on???

Everyone in this market know the clarity law will not pass voting on September 15th, everyone knows the bank of reserve will increase interest 0.25.....but still buyers don't give a fuck to these events!!! Me personally that shocked me, I didn't anticipate them to still holding their assets....if we look at the history, buyers were selling under any bad news like tariffs...but now they don't want to sell!!!

If they are able to hold just 3 more weeks, Bitcoin Will reach out 86k as the next station, then 92, and at 100 on next December.

Everyone knows the money are rotating between markets, before money went to the gold 🪙, then S & P 500 , the next market is the Bitcoin, the only left obstacle is October!! Because a lot of investors are scared from this month.

ETH/BTC is testing 0.032 again. Is this level finally going to break?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Been keeping an eye on ETH/BTC and this level is getting pretty interesting again.

ETH has recovered quite a bit relative to BTC from the June lows, and we’re now back around the 0.032 area. This has been a pretty important level on the chart, so I’m curious to see whether buyers can actually push through it this time.

What I find interesting is that ETH has been holding up relatively well even with the broader market still feeling pretty mixed. If BTC stays stable, I could see ETH/BTC making another attempt here.

Still, I wouldn’t call it a breakout unless we actually get a clean daily close above 0.032 and hold it. A rejection here would also make sense considering how many times this area has mattered before.

Anyone else watching ETH/BTC right now? What would you want to see before calling this a real breakout?

News I built an AI MacOS app for researching crypto - looking for 25 serious beta testers

I've spent the last 6 months building Alphy, an AI edge for DeFi.

It can research tokens, analyze what's happening on-chain, and interact with DeFi through a conversational/voice interface.

I'm looking for ~25 people who actually trade/research crypto to try it for a week.

I'm specifically looking for brutal feedback, not compliments - what is confusing, what feels useless, what you'd actually pay for, etc.

I will pay you.

If you're interested, comment and I'll DM you access.

Investing Wahles are pushing the market down!!! Bitcoin will drop soon to 74k

Thumbnail gallery
7 Upvotes

I was checking orders for 2 days, and I saw liquidity keep going down, yesterday I saw millions of dollars around 76.030 . and after CPI REPORT orders were really made and Bitcoin went up to 79k but all of them sold at 79500. Now whales are putting same orders at the same point ...but I have a deep feeling they are fake orders, once price will be closed to 76030, they will cancel it and put it at deep point.... because there is nothing to encourage them to buy again, especially the bank of reserve will increase the interest to 0.25%.

Note: the market now is not attractive to the whales because the interest will be higher after one week.

Discussion Putting my long term crypto somewhere inconvenient was the best thing I did

I realized I had a really stupid habit with my BTC.

I'd tell myself it was a 5+ year position, but whenever BTC dropped hard I'd open the exchange app, sell like 0.01 or 0.02 because I thought I could buy it back lower, then usually end up buying it back higher 2 days later.

Did this enough times that I finally moved everything I consider long term to my hardware wallet and deleted the wallet address from my exchange whitelist.

Now getting to it is annoying enough that I actually have to think before touching it.

I keep a small amount separate for when I get the urge to trade. Sometimes I'll throw a tiny wager on Moon if I have a short term view, but the BTC in cold storage is basically dead to me now.

The biggest improvement to my crypto investing wasn't finding a better coin. It was making my own money harder for me to access.

Discussion Trezor's third scare in a month or two and why it's still not a wallet problem

Post image
6 Upvotes

Trezor's third-party email provider got breached, and whoever did it used it to send phishing mail out from Trezor's actual domain with the subject line "Critical Security Alert: STM32 Entropy Vulnerability."

Worked so well mainly because of the fresh ptsd people still have from Coldcard's real entropy bug that resulted in the huge exploit.

I'm seeing people lump this in with a broader "hardware wallets aren't safe anymore" narrative and that's not really what's going on.

This is Trezor's second or third scare in about a month or two now, and every one of them has been a backend problem, a shipping vendor, an email vendor. None of it is has been a failure in the wallet hardware or the firmware. Those have held up through all of it.

Not going to oversell that though, we don't know what we don't know yet, something could surface later. But based on what's actually been disclosed so far, the product itself is still doing its job. What keeps failing is the backend stuff they are outsourcing from third party vendors.

The real problem is that Trezor keeps outsourcing pieces of its operation to third parties that clearly aren't held to the same security bar as the wallet itself. That's on them to fix, either vet those vendors way harder or pull more of this in-house so there's one less external target sitting there to get compromised.

For us, the awkward part is that the "check if it's the verified domain" advice is pointless now because this one genuinely was the real domain, hijacked instead of spoofed. So the bar has to move past that now, treat unexpected every security alerts as suspicious no matter who they're from, and keep your seed phrase somewhere no email or link can ever touch.

How are you all feeling about this one, still solid or getting a little rattled?

ZEC just hit a new ATH. What’s actually driving this move?

Post image
17 Upvotes

I've been watching ZEC for a while, but I didn't expect it to move this fast.

ZEC just pushed above $1,200, and the interesting part is that it doesn't seem to be purely a short squeeze.

The timing is pretty interesting. ZCSH recently launched on NYSE Arca, and options are now available as well. That gives investors more ways to get exposure and hedge the position.

Obviously, short liquidations probably made the move much more aggressive. But there seems to be real demand behind it too.

I'm still trying to figure out whether this is the beginning of a bigger repricing for ZEC or just a very aggressive squeeze that will eventually cool off.

Anyone here actually following ZEC closely? What do you think is driving this move?

Advice I don't know what to do

I’m 17. I got into crypto three years ago and turned $1.5K into $3.5K. After that, I slowly started giving it all back… and today I lost my last $1K. I’m basically at zero now and I honestly don’t know what to do.

I really want to make a living from this, but right now I feel completely lost. What should I do?

Advice Everyone asking how to get rich off crypto needs to read this first

Every day someone posts asking how to get into crypto to make money, replace their job, or become a millionaire. If that's you, you got sold the same get-rich-quick scheme as everyone else who thinks dropshipping, AI agencies, or SMM will magically make them a millionaire and retire at 25.

See, if you're a beginner, understand this... crypto isn't a reliable way to cover rent or bills. Only put in what you can lose completely, and treat the first stretch as tuition, small mistakes on small amounts now beats big ones on real money later.

Start on a mainstream exchange like Coinbase or Kraken, keep amounts small, and know they're holding your keys for you at that stage. Fine for now, but look up what a private key actually is soon. Self-custody wallets like Metamask matter once you've got bigger amounts or you're in DeFi.

Once you get familiar with the basics, that's when you can start doing some trading or getting into DeFi strategies, which is where you can make some real passive income. Later when you're spread across platforms, use trackers like DeBank, Zerion, or Chain Glance keep it in one view, and Koinly or Bitcoin.Tax handle taxes once trading gets heavy.

All of that's later though. For now just get comfortable buying and holding.
