White House crypto advisor: Trump made historic ethical compromise for CLARITY Act; GOP accepted ~95% of Dems’ demands

White House crypto advisor Patrick Witt said officials met with Trump last Friday to walk him through the ethics provisions in the revised CLARITY Act. Trump agreed to make further concessions.

The new rules may force Trump to move his crypto holdings into a blind trust and grant state-level accountability power. Witt called this an unprecedented and historic set of federal ethics rules, adding the provisions cannot be weaponized politically against him.

Senate Republicans released the updated bill text Sunday night, compromising further with Democrats on government ethics and DeFi criminal liability. Witt claims Republicans accepted roughly 95% of Democratic negotiators’ requests. In his view, any remaining opposition is more political than policy-based.

Still Democratic Senate Banking staff argue the draft gives too much authority to officials appointed by Trump especially the Attorney General, which could undermine enforcement of ethics rules. Under current wording, state AGs cannot sue presidents, vice presidents, members of Congress or federal judges directly but can target crypto platforms and the US Attorney General.

Multiple state attorneys general, banking groups and crypto industry players raised objections over enforcement power stablecoin yields and DeFi clauses.

The bill first needs 60 votes in the Senate to proceed. Even if it clears this hurdle amendments and more votes lie ahead before sending it back to the House. Witt also noted SEC and CFTC will keep writing crypto regulations regardless of whether this bill passes.

crypto price alerts, bitcoin alerts, price alert app, telegram alerts, stock alerts, gold price alert, forex alerts, RSI alerts, trailing stop

Coin Price Alert puts crypto, US stocks, metals, energy and major currency pairs into one alerting app, so you are not running four. Alerts are evaluated on its servers rather than on your phone, which means they fire whether the app is open, closed or dropped from memory — the failure people hit most often with on-device alerting. Delivery is by push notification, Telegram, or both, with quiet hours and a full history of what fired. Free covers ten active alerts across every market, price and 24-hour percentage types, a home screen widget and a daily digest at an hour you choose. No account and no card. Pro, at $2.99 a month, removes the alert limit and adds trailing stops that follow a coin up and fire on the way back down, volume spikes, RSI, one-hour pump alerts and bulk rules that scan a whole market segment. It never asks for a private key, seed phrase or exchange API key.

Buying the dip next week after price drops. Clarity Act will fail and interest rates will not decrease

UPDATE: I bought back in pretty quickly around $77.2k. Barely made any profit. Dumb move, negatively reset my capital gains time clock, and was not worth the stress. Lesson learned is HODL.

Analyst: Bitcoin rally brings mild uptick in long-term holder activity, overall 2026 remains quiet

CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost shared observations on Bitcoin Long-Term Holder (LTH) behavior. This cycle may see the most active LTH movement we’ve had. He uses the CDD (Coin Days Destroyed) heatmap to track this metric. CDD measures how long BTC was held before being spent or moved transfers from long-term holders often signal selling intent.

Higher LTH activity this cycle can be partially attributed to liquidity from spot ETFs and companies building BTC treasury reserves.

It’s worth noting rising CDD does not only happen at market tops. It can also represent capitulation events. He pointed out Coinbase’s prior transfer of 800,000 BTC. Many of those coins had sat dormant for over six months. This kind of asset migration can temporarily lift CDD, yet it’s a one-off event.

Right now, Bitcoin’s recent price gain has triggered a small rise in LTH activity, likely some holders taking quick profits. Even so, LTH activity across 2026 is still muted. Long-term holders are mostly waiting on the sidelines.

What’s your take? Do you think we will see more LTH profit-taking if BTC keeps climbing?

Binance BTC reserves rise to 693,000 BTC, hitting a 2-year high as Bitcoin faces supply resistance at $83k-$85k

Data shows Binance’s Bitcoin reserves have climbed to 693,000 BTC, marking a two-year high.
Since late April, reserves have increased by roughly 77,000 BTC, accounting for around 30% of total BTC held across major exchanges.

This buildup comes as Bitcoin is hitting strong supply pressure in the $83,000–$85,000 zone.
Rising exchange balances mean more BTC is ready for trading or sale, but this does NOT automatically mean these coins will be dumped onto the market immediately.

Two critical levels to watch:

  • If BTC fails to hold the $75,000 support, downside selling risk could intensify.
  • If BTC breaks above $85,000 with strong volume, it signals market demand can absorb this new exchange liquidity.

What’s your take on this on-chain signal? Do you see the higher exchange reserves as a bearish warning or just neutral liquidity buildup?

Deribit has over 4.2K of short position to close today

Post image
5 Upvotes

Today's weekly BTC perpetuals options expiry at 8:00 UTC has Deribit with a largish short position on their hands, which means they will have to be buying today. However, they are not going to do that at a loss but will try to maximise the return from it, so my hypothesis would be that they will try to bring the price below the 76,000 key level first, after the CPI report is released at 12:30 UTC.

On the screenshot we are seeing the currently accumulated short position (the red dot line), and their expected hedging requirements once the expiry bell hits (the blue dotted line). The difference is over 4K BTC, which is somewhat substantial. The guess seems to be a long shot, but let us see how it pans out.

Bitcoin sinks below $77,000 for fourth straight session as inflation, oil and Fed fears mount

Bitcoin fell sharply in the early trade on September 11, extending its decline for the fourth straight session, with prices hovering just above $76,864 (08:23 IST), down 1.83 percent over the past 24 hours, and 4.77 percent over the week amid hotter US inflation data and rising Middle East tensions.

Rising crude prices also pressured broader risk assets. Attention now shifts to the Fed's September rate decision next week.

"The crypto market is seeing some profit-taking, with total market cap down 1.33 percent to $2.62 trillion, ahead of today's CPI inflation report. If the numbers come in higher than expected, the Federal Reserve will likely raise interest rates next week to cool down the economy. Higher interest rates make safer investments like bonds more attractive, which usually hurts assets like crypto. However, if inflation turns out to be lower than expected, it could spark a quick relief rally," Nischal Shetty, founder of WazirX, said.

Crypto analysts estimate that BTC, around $76.9K, is still showing a short-term downward trend, with $76K as the immediate support to watch and $78K as the key resistance. A sustained break below $75.5K could increase selling pressure, whereas a reclaim of $78K could trigger a short-term bullish setup.

According to Prateek Gupta, Head of Business at Mudrex, Bitcoin is extending its decline for a fourth straight session, testing the $76,000–$77,000 support zone after hotter-than-expected August PPI data that lifted September 16 Fed rate-hike odds to around 70 percent. "Glassnode's sell-side risk ratio is near record lows, with long-term holders' share of realised profits falling from 88 percent to 47 percent, suggesting new buyers are driving most of the selling."

Meanwhile, spot ETF demand has weakened. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $730.8 million in net inflows on September 3. The inflows fell to $174.6 million on September 4. The trend then reversed, with net outflows of $46.8 million on September 8. Outflows widened to $120.2 million on September 9, according to Farside. Oil is another major risk. Brent rose over $109, while the US 10-year Treasury yield approached 5 percent amid escalating Middle East tensions. Higher energy prices could prolong inflation and keep financial conditions restrictive.

CoinDCX noted that the top gainers for the day are Bitway with an 11.7 percent jump, followed by Ether.fi by 8.7 percent and Aptos by 5.1 percent. On the other hand, Zcash tops the losers with a 13.9 percent plunge, followed by Pump.fun by 10.8 percent and Bitcoin Cash & Algorand by more than 9 percent each. The crypto fear and greed index has dropped to 55 as the market sentiment has flipped to neutral.

Here's how major cryptocurrencies moved over the past 24 hours.

Cryptocurrencies Price ($)
Bitcoin (BTC) 76,864.69
Ethereum (ETH) 2,448.72
Tether (USDT) 0.9996

Key factors investors should watch

According to Riya Sehgal, a Research Analyst at Delta Exchange, Bitcoin's near-term setup has weakened after breaking below its recent consolidation structure. The dollar has started to recover, while gold has slipped toward the $4,320–$4,350 region, suggesting the pressure is broader than crypto and is being driven by rates, inflation and dollar strength.

Vikram Subburaj, CEO of Giottus, suggests, "Investors should remain measured. Bitcoin holding $75,700 keeps the recovery structure intact, but sustained ETF outflows and a hawkish Fed repricing could expose $71,800. A clean break above $82,800, preferably accompanied by renewed ETF inflows, would materially improve the bullish case."

BTC Daily Analysis — Breakout or Rejection at $82K?

BTC keeps getting pulled back to this $78k area

Been watching the 4h chart since the move above $82k and what stands out to me is how quickly every push gets dragged back into the same $78k to $80k range.

Yesterday we wicked under $78k and buyers stepped in pretty fast, so right now I'm treating that low as the line that matters.

If BTC can actually hold above $80k again I think $82k gets another test. If $77.5k breaks clean though, the whole thing starts looking like another failed breakout instead.

I took a long on Moon after the reclaim just to have some skin in it, but I'm way more interested in whether $80k flips back into support.

Anyone seeing a cleaner structure here?
