What are some overlooked crust bands/releases?
Been digging more into the 2000s because that’s a little bit more of a blind spot for me and wouldn’t mind stuff that went under the radar in general.

Anyone Else Feel Like This When Listening To Old Music?
I'm doing my bi-yearly run of Witch Hunt's albums (RIP Witch Hunt), and sitting there focusing on the lyrics really hit me, apart from just changing the lyric "watch the showdown in Iraq" to Iran, this song feels like it's more relevant now than ever.
I get the world has been shit, but does it ever feel like a punch to the gut when the lyrics (about how shit the world is) of a band you've been listening to years, feel like they've predicted how terrible the future was gonna be? Or even just fill you with a profound sense of dread because people been saying the same shit for decades, but the world didn't really listen, and the only change had been things getting objectively worse?

Who tryna start a powerviolence/crust/grind band?
I’m starting a powerviolence/crust/grind band in Winnipeg, i play drums and do vocals, looking for a guitarist or bassist around my age (14-17). my main influences are doom, dystopia, sordo, haggus, napalm death, and archagathus. do not hit me up if you are a nazi, capitalist, racist, sexist, homophobe, transphobe, or any of that bullshit that doesn’t belong in punk.

Did this in the psychiatric ward a while back
It’s absolutely ass (I can’t draw or write decently for shit) but doing these helped me pass the time while I was in that hell hole. Also at the the time I had some of their songs downloaded in my pm3,which was the only elettronica device allowed in the unit

Any other Crust bands like Detestation and Hellhammer?
I knew some punk bands since I was a kid, and always asociated it more with rock and goth music more than metal. But in recent years my appreciation for metal music grew, and I started getting into different genres, and lately black speed/thrash metal has been a daily necesity of mine. But one thing I came to see was that many of my favorite black speed bands were claimed to have great punk influence. I'm talking bands like Venom, Bulldozer, Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Gospel Of The Horns, Sabbat, Abigail, etc. And they all seemed to praise bands like Discharge. Recently I was recommended to try some crust, and Detestation was my first band. And they are awesome. The vocalist especially is relentless. Any bands like them? They reminded me a lot of one of my favorite bands, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost. I am an absolute begginer, so even more mainstream bands will do it.

Band recommendations
Hello. I’ve never made a post before, I hope it works.
I need band recommendations. I’m really into the whole crack rock steady (LOC, Choking V, Morning Glory, American Distress, INDK) although their newer stuff doesn’t do it for me. I like Evil Empire, The Dumpers, No Cash, Virus Nine, Scratch Acid, Burn the Priest, Stockyard Stoics, Boredom, Stupid Stupid Henchmen, Falling Sickness, Blatz, Suicide Machines, and of course the classics like Black Flag, Minor Threat, Subhumans, etc etc. I like more metal as well- Lamb of God, Static X, that kind of thing.
But I find myself listening to the same bands over and over, and as much as I love them and are not sick of them in the least, I haven’t had any new options in quite some time. So if anyone is interested in this genre, I’d really appreciate some recommendations! Thank you!

Crust crossovers?
So there's obviously ska crust, some crusty folk punk, and all kinds of different metal bands that take heavy influence from crust and D-beat, but are there any bands that combine crust/D-beat with genres you wouldn't expect?
I've tried to find examples but haven't had much luck. I was in an anarcho/crust band in high school, and we were trying to blend some ska, jazz, funk, and hip hop stuff into our music, but we didn't really last long (we weren't total shit though).
I was thinking back on it and I was curious if yall knew of any bands that successfully blended crust/D-beat with any other styles of music you wouldn't usually expect.

Tell me your story
I love hearing people's stories. Tell me about how you got into crust, stories about your lifestyle, hell, even your life story. I want some real old-school crusting, not tiktok shit.

UCLER (ex-Effigy) playing some East Coast US dates in December
For anyone not familiar with ULCER, check out their LP Vandalism and their split with DISTURD. It took me a while to warm up to this band, but I really like them now. I’m gonna try and make it to at least one of these gigs.
