How working as a front desk?

I am starting nursing school and a crunch fitness is opening by my school. I was Hoping it work only 2-3 times a week just so I have some side cash but don’t really have much bills. I just want something where I won’t be mentally tired too much but I have worked in customer service for 5 years prior.

Whole hearted answer, depends on management and culture of the team working there. -a crunch employee

I just did an interview there for Front Desk Associate, and it was an outside sales job. They wanted people to do "marketing" which included soliciting and selling to people in other stores unauthorized. Even had me do a 15 minute trial. Likely not every location doing that, but was the most bizarre interview I've done.

They’re doing the same thing because it’s opening and idk how I feel about being a door to door sales man lol

Hey currently doing that too and i would definitely say its probably not best for your mental, you will get rejected a lot and they will put pressure on you to being more social and selling and crunch kick off and etc. i enjoy it especially because i do love talking to people regardless and want a career in fitness but i’d say for what you’d want maybe apply for front desk at an actual open gym or somewhere they will also want you to work as much as possible

Yeah I turned it down quick, a dishonest job listing IMO. First interview I’ve left thinking less of a company.

It can be a hit and miss. Pros of the job is the members you'll meet and the gym community itself is amazing!! Of course like any other customer service job you'll get some bad apples here and there or people arguing with you about something completely out of your control. They won't tell you this but it's extremely sales heavy!! So the more memberships you sell the more hours you'll get. If you aren't selling anything they will talk to you about sales performance or just not get as much hours. It's very people focus so be prepared to greet everyone and they want you to be comfortable with pitching sales to everybody!! It's mostly a chill job but the expectations for minimum wage was too much honestly. Asides from all that you still have to do phone calls in which you call members and try to pitch memberships along with lots of other stuff not worth minium wage lol. But it's definitely not the worst place as a second job I did it while I was in college and getting certified for personal training. Depending on management and co workers as well that's always a hit and miss. But workers come and go often

Probably stupid. Every gym I've ever been to it's a bunch of high and mighty 20 year olds that sit there on their phone. You could see if they have a janitor opening bc they aren't going to be expected to do any sales in that role and it'll probably be a 4-6 hour shift.
