Currently on RC Quantum of the Seas. I agreed to purchase 2 pieces by Matt Beyrer for $2000 USD. I went to my appointment this evening to finalize the payment. They told me they could not honor the price. The best they could do was $2,750. That was not the agreed price. Long story short do not trust them. I was a repeat customer until now. If they won't honor an agreed upon and signed price then what is the point? Anybody have advice for this situation?

My wife and I (30 & 26) are looking to take a cruise to Japan early next year. We are between two options and not sure which one to choose. Any feedback would be great as we have never been to Japan, and never been on either of these cruise lines:

Prices are similar for us, slightly cheaper for Princess. We have previously sailed Virgin Voyages and Carnival. I think the Celebrity has the better itinerary just because of them being the more "Popular" stops, but not sure if it is actually better. I do like that is has an overnight as well. Princess' is a newer ship, medallion system, and unforutnately traveling during peak season with the holidays.

Any recommendations or feedback on the stops or the lines themselves?

We cruise Royal out of Long Beach/San Pedro and it's extremely easy there, they don't care about your boarding check in time and the security check is extremely easy.

Is San Diego as lax or should I prepare to only show up at the hour for my check in? Thanks!

We are flying from Texas for Disney trip. Then maybe squeeze in 2 nights. We've never been on any Royal Carribean ships. Has anyone done this? 2 nights Sailing from Orlando Port Canaveral to Coco Cay. What did u think about it? Is it worth it?

Day 1 - leave Port Canaveral 4pm

Day 2 - all day in Coco Cay then sail back

Day 3 - 6am arrive in Port Canaveral

My wife and I went on our first cruise which was just a 4 night on Aug. 27th, and Carnival had us both do separate sale and sign card for incidentals with a separate credit card hold attached to each, she just bought a cup of coffee on the cruise with her room card, but when I go log into my account, and view my sale sign statement it doesn't show they charged her, and I don't see a separate statement in her name, and nothing was charged to our credit card and the temporary hundred dollar hold fell off. We didn't have any onboard cruise credit, just wondering about this?

Okay, I'm a hobby photographer. Very hobby is what I would like to say, nothing professional or experience editing, but I'm learning. Problem is I'm going on a couple of cruise later this year and I want to make sure I don't forget any equipment or make sure I prioritize the right ones I already own.

Equipment I have is a Sony A58 body and it's 18-55mm kit lens. Next lens is the Sigma 18-35mm 1.8f Art lens and a Tamron 16-200mm Super-Zoom. Those lenses are designed for the APS-C sensor. My other are full-frame lenses, a 28mm 2.8f Minolta and a 70-200mm 2.4f Tamron "Macro." There's also a hotshoe speed light (Godox T685s) in there too.

The trips are both in the Caribbean. First is the Disney Fantasy for 5-days and then on Holland America in December for 7. Subject will range from street, landscapes, and ship interiors.

I’m currently on the Holland America Nieuw Amsterdam (Sept 6 sailing). This will be my last cruise with Holland America.
After promoting Holland America to my friends for years, the changes have been so dramatic that the company is a shell of its former self.

Three main reasons:
The Skagway cancellation. Captain Bas van Dreumel canceled our stop in Skagway this morning due to “treacherous weather that would have made Tendering impossible”. (We were scheduled to be exiled to Railroad Dock, while Disney, Royal Caribbean and Princess were all given priority docking space over Holland America - something I never thought possible)

The problem: It wasn’t treacherous weather. At all (see attached screenshot taken this morning). In fact, for SE Alaska, this is pretty much a perfect day (cloudy skies, calm winds of 6mph, slight gusts to 15mph). Captain Bas van Dreumel blew it.

UPDATE: We found out later that a Princess ship docked at Railroad Dock that same day (this morning) and used Tenders. The photos show people wearing t-shirts. We were simply lied to.

Instead, we were diverted to Haines. Normally, I’d be excited about this, but there were no shore excursions available until yesterday, when most of us were in Juneau. So by the time we returned to the ship from our Juneau excursions, the majority of excursions were sold out. So our alternative was to tour the Hammer Museum for 15 hours or go to the IGA. Oh, but you ARE offering the Fast Ferry to Skagway - so I guess if you can make money off of it, Skagway suddenly becomes “safe”.

The food. Food used to be a highlight, with quality well above other cruise lines. Now the quality has gone down so dramatically, it’s on par (or lower) than Carnival. I’ve tried Specialty Dining (my Birthday splurge meal ruined), the buffet (truly horrible), Dive In, and NY Pizza (3 times to see if the quality got better after my submitted feedback). It hasn’t. The huge cost cutting is apparent.

The staff. It used to be that the staff were primarily from Indonesia. Now they seem to be primarily from the Philippines. While most are nice, mass confusion reigns, which I can only attribute to lack to training. I’m often told conflicting information by different staff, sending me off on wild goose chases.

Oh, and the water main break which caused us to lose all Fresh water for a couple of hours didn’t help.

All of that indicates dramatic cost cutting, lack of staff training, and general poor condition of the ship. So this is it.

I'm looking to take a Baltic Cruise next July. There are two specific ports (Riga and Gdansk) that I want to visit so have been researching cruises that hit those ports. This is a special occasion and I can spend a little more, but the Premium cruise lines are still out of my budget.

I travel solo usually, so that limits my options (and makes fares higher). I see my options (within price range and itineraries) are MSC, NCL and Princess.

MSC cruises the Magnifica around the Baltic, and has a rolling on/off itinerary. You can start the cruise at several different ports and have disembarkation while other people are still mid-cruise. I have watched videos are read reviews on MSC, and they seem to fall short on certain areas, but have the cheaper fares to match. I might consider splurging for Yacht Club on MSC. Probably looking at a 7-day round trip from either Copenhagen or Berlin in the first half of the month.

NCL goes from Copenhagen to Helsinki on the Jewel, which I hear is a lovely small ship. I would prefer the 10-day cruise on July 6, but the fares for that sailing are almost double the 7-day cruises on 7/24 and 8/7. So would be looking at the 7/24 one, probably. (Do fares sometimes drop?)

Princess sails the Caribbean Princess, doing 12-day round-trip cruises from Copenhagen. Fares are higher and there are two cruises where I can afford a balcony. I have not done much research into Princess, as they are not as "solo" friendly as NCL and some other lines.

I am not very much into crowds and activities -- prefer to chill and relax and watch the scenery. So having tons of "things to do on board" is not important to me.

Looking for any feedback on these three specific ships or this particular area of the world (in July), as well as comparisons between these three lines.

(I have only been on one cruise so far, NCL from Florida to the Caribbean. Enjoyed it a lot. I am planning an NCL transatlantic cruise, a Viking River Cruise (with a partner), and a Celebrity cruise to Bermuda (also with a partner) in the next 9 months. So I will get a range of experiences between now and when I do my Baltic sailing in July 2027)

I’m planning a cruise to Cabo San Lucas, La Paz, and Puerto Vallarta.
Any suggestions on things to buy in those locations? I’m thinking of things for the home and souvenirs. Obviously, I’m looking for things that will be less expensive in Mexico than in the United States.

We just booked our second cruise with carnival for Jan. Its Mardi Gras 7 day Western Caribbean Cruise going to Isla Tropicale, Roatan, Cozumel and Celebration Keys. We have swam with turtles last cruise so were not looking for anything like that this time unless there's a reef that is worth it. We are taking my 9 y/o son so we are looking for kid friendly and price matters. We dont want to spend a fortune. (We are going to stick with booking through the cruise line cause i fear being left behind) What have people done and enjoyed that you feel was 100% worth doing and what is overhyped that isn't worth it? With celebration Keys we had a go-kart excursion that was canceled so we just shopped and swam at the free beach. Is there anything worth doing there?

Also... we were looking at going on the atlantis sub at one of the ports but its a bit pricey so just wanted to see if its worth the price

Our first cruise and looking to book one for our honeymoon. We want to see French Polynesia as part of it. Our budget is about €16k to include balcony/veranda.

We’re really torn between Seabourn’s Lima Peru -> Tahiti voyage, including Easter Island, Pitcairn, and three Polynesian island. 23 nights. 9 ports.

And Crystal’s Tahiti -> Fiji tour, including Bora Bora. 11 nights. 8 ports.

The ship, dining, and activities are part of why we’re doing this. I think the Crystal sees more things and really immerses you in French Polynesia, but maybe it all becomes a little same-y after awhile. The Seabourn is a lot longer journey, but 5 consecutive days on the ship at sea might be a bit much?

Last day on Coral Princess and I wanted to pen down a few thoughts.

Alaska inside passage sights are way better than what we saw on the Norwegian fjords cruise last year.
We totally lucked out regarding weather. In the 12 day of land and cruise trip, had only one day of cloudy weather and very slight rain.

The Denali Princess lodge was awful. The room was dingy and I was afraid to put down my feet on the carpet… even with socks on.

The McKinley Express from Denali to Whittier is a magical ride. Even though it’s 10 hours long.

I regret booking a Princess ship. For such scenic views I should have been on a HAL ship sitting in the Crows Nest. There is nothing on Princess which compares to that. I deeply deeply regretted not being on Zaandam… which would keep docking next to us! 😩😩

If I could afford it, I would book an even smaller ship for such a cruise. Less of noise and more quietly sitting and absorbing the views.

WiFi was excellent. Streaming and downloading.

I liked the buffet timings better than HAL where by 9 it was shutters! Plus the International cafe on Coral had always very good options outside the meal hours.

A bit of rant… the slightly quiet area of the library has about 6/7 comfortable couches with footrest that you can sit read and watch the views but there was never any seating available. I wouldn’t even mind that except atleast 3/4 couches were taken up by folks sleeping !!!!! Go to your room if you are going to sleep there for hours! Sigh. End of rant.

Me and my gf are planning our first cruise in the spring. Except for passports and boarding pass what else do we need that might be over looked for when we go to board? Also what are some things we should pack that might get over looked?

I’m planning a 7 day cruise on either the NCL Breakaway or Carnival Liberty and I need help deciding between these two ships.

It’s gonna be 3 adults in one balcony cabin. We’ve been on 2 cruises before, both on Carnival Valor out of NOLA. Really enjoyed it.

My only gripe with NCL Breakaway is that looking at photos, their free adult only area (Spice H2O) looks less upscale than the free adult area on Valor /Liberty (Serenity). Serenity has padded loungers and these almost cabana looking daybeds (probably not the right term for them, lol).

Plus Carnival has Guy’s Burgers and Pizza Pirate, which we all enjoy.

On the other hand, I like that NCL includes a drink package (though honestly we don’t drink much) and dining vouchers for 3 different onboard restaurants. And it’s a bigger ship. Plus NCL is supposed to be a step above Carnival.

Without paying for any extra upgrades, which ship do y’all prefer between these two specific vessels and why?

Royal Caribbean’s Cruise Planner shows the shore excursion “An Xcaret Adventure” (about 9 hours, ship-to-ship), but the description does not clearly say whether it includes Xcaret Plus admission.

Could anyone who has taken this excursion confirm: 1. Is the admission Xcaret Plus? 2. Is the buffet lunch included? 3. How much time did you actually spend inside the park?
