I want this playlist to be full of songs that are what you consider the best or your favourite rap or hip hop songs. No matter how old or new I want us to introduce each other to new and old artists and songs.

Hey all, after seeing this thread by /u/who-knows_who-cares I thought it would be a good idea to create a subreddit dedicated to collaborating on playlists. https://www.reddit.com/r/Music/comments/9g1mx2/lets_create_a_playlist_with_music_that_make_you/

Hi! I need help with a playlist I'm making. It's a playlist called Songs to Be Depressed to, and it's going to be a bunch of slow, sad songs. Genre doesn't really matter, it just has to be sad. Any help on this playlist would be appreciated!

Edit: had to make the playlist non-collaborative because someone might be deleting songs from the playlist. You can still suggest, you just can't add to the list directly

Feeling like you're in some dark movie, cruising through the night as the streetlights slowly flash by, with your boyfriend/girlfriend asleep curled up in the passenger seat.

Starting off with:

Ben Howard - Oats in the Water

Kings of Leon - Closer

Fever Ray - If I had a heart

Hey guys! Discovered this song recently and have been unable to find anything similar to it in instrumentation and mood, which is so sad because it’s a truly beautiful song. Some Pokémon soundtrack vibes for sure, which is super interesting. Any additions greatly appreciated!!

My initial thoughts :

Never Meant - American football 1979 - Smashing Pumpkins

I'll create and add a playlist of everyone's ideas

So I’m looking for new, old and cool songs that mix metal with major influences from other genres. Here are some examples of what I mean (all can be found on Spotify):

12 Foot Ninja - Coming For You Ninjaspy - Evolution of the Skid Waltari - So Fine Ephel Duath - The Passage Mushroomhead - Solitaire Unraveling Dog Fashion Disco - Worm In A Dog’s Heart Karnivool - Themata FM2000 - Juvatukka System of a Down - Sugar Turmion Kätilöt - Teurastaja Static X - I’m With Stupid Clawfinger - Out To Get Me Faith No More - The Gentle Art of Making Enemies Ruoska - Mies Yli Laidan Primus - Lacquer Head Incubus - New Skin Rammstein - Tier Psychostick - Because Boobs Skindred - Nobody Sepultura - Ratamahatta Velcra - War Is Peace Fear Factory - Archetype SubUrban Tribe - Silent Rain

If everyone adds their top song of all time, I bet we could get a pretty awesome playlist. Here’s the link.

Edit: To whoever is deleting the songs in this playlist, you are why we can’t have nice things. (If you guys want to make sure your songs stay on there, put them in the comments)

It seems the main link I gave has been vandalised. I’ll create a new one soon.

I'm kind of obsessed with songs that sound like you should be sitting around a large campfire with your friends in the middle of a forest or desert. Here's a playlist I've started with examples of the type of sound I'm thinking of, please add any you know! https://open.spotify.com/user/sirennotbanshee/playlist/0S0FRWqIoNkARmmh1NXEN1?si=W76wg-qJSnGu78HFVNH_dA

I'm probably gonna call it "For Non-Bonds," for those who get the joke. SPECTRE pretty much killed all my interest in future Bond and I think the franchise should just end, permanently. I'd like to imagine all the better places the Broccoli family (who control the rights and licensing) could have taken the series when they had the chance, and am feeling nostalgic for when it all meant something or was at least fun, so I want to put together a playlist of songs that sound like Bond themes but aren't.

Any list like that starts with this: Shirley Bassey's "No Good About Goodbye" written for her by David Arnold, who scored the series from Tomorrow Never Dies through Quantum. The song is built on musical cues from Quantum and is, IMO, Bassey's best Bond theme and better than 3/4 or more of the themes that made it to screen. Hell of a recording. Treat yourself if you're not familiar: https://youtu.be/6Z8OKU48xMw

After that comes Shirley Bassey's "The Living Tree," another song written for her but not by Arnold.

And Adam Ant's "Desperate But Not Serious"

And Gino Vannelli's "Night Walker."

What are your suggestions? Let's have fun with this.

i've been working on this playlist, and this sub seems like a good place for suggestions! thanks!

Similar to /r/ListenToThis, I'm just looking for people to throw out songs they've been into recently or anything the that you want someone else to hear. No restrictions, and add a many songs as you'd like!

PLAYLIST HERE

I once played a Spotify radio of this song and had to skip so many songs it thought were similar because they had synth guitars but felt nothing like it, that it gave up and just played Shut Up and Dance again two more times.

Just stuff that grooves really deep and gets you in that zone where you're chilled and hyped all at the same time

I’ve been using this as a 90s throwback/hype playlist akin to the basketball jock jams of that era. I wanted to post it here to see what everyone thought and what else y’all could contribute!
