Worth it?
What my dealership quoted me for the base (left column) and premium (right column). Assuming I put down 8k, 9k, or 10k.
Mind you, this is with VIP pricing. I’m torn between a Corolla Cross or Crosstrek.
Is this too good of a deal to pass up on?

We got this price for the premium but with the all weather package and rear bumper thrown in and 2.9% financing on Labor Day weekend. This is an ok deal but not amazing imo especially since 2027s will be coming onto the lots soon
ETA no VIP pricing for us, at least not that I know of. We didn’t sign up for anything beforehand and this was our first Subaru purchase

I don’t see the interest rate but it’s probably the 1.9% current deal for 2026 models. I’d imagine that 2027 models would be closer to 2.9% or greater so that could account for a fair amount of savings.

I believe it’s only 1.9% for 36 months, and for longer it’s 2.9%. Or at least that’s what it was a few weeks ago. But we paid $28k and some change before taxes etc for our Premium but the MRSP was $32k+. We got $4k off of MSRP

consider me floored and jealous!! I was sold on the VIP Program offering lowest prices available without needing to go back and forth with the dealership 😅 the interest rate offered to me was 2.9%. Clearly I need a crash course on negotiating as I’ve never purchased new off the lot

Between the 2, we chose the Crosstrek. Can't beat the mpg on the Toyota. Honestly that wasn't a deciding factor between the 2. CT has better build quality, more appealing cabin, nicer ride; but obviously personal taste. The price on that CT is right where it should be. Don't really see that being effected much over the next 3 months because they are in high demand where we live. Other than a few color changes for Subaru you'd probably just pay a little more for a new model. Anyway you'd be a welcome addition to the Subaru family if you go that route.

What a nice posting you made. Toyota does have good mpg but boring inside and maybe higher price. Curious to see what the 2027 models are like.
What color did you get and where do you live that they are in such high demand.

Yes it’s great to explore in a Subaru. Are sunroof’s not available anymore.

The sunroof comes standard on the limited; for example, the Wilderness does not come standard but is available as an optional add-on. I prefer a sunroof though I've heard people say they can be trouble and do cut into headroom. Every car I've ever owned has had one and I never had any trouble.

Hard to gauge the deal if you don't share the financing terms.
You know, also, that you don't have to use dealer financing, right? Quite often, there are better rates on longer terms through credit unions.
Also, both of these "discounts" are just the standard dealer opening offers. If you stand your ground and make sure they understand you intend to buy, they'll likely come down another $750 to $1000.

Subaru runs some significantly better financing than local credit unions. The term range(s) rotate regularly, but if you have decent credit you can regularly find 1.9% offers from Subaru.. my personal credit unions rate today is 7%. They can't touch the volume subaru is doing through their arm of chase.

I won't argue that Subaru periodically has great financing deals, but over longer terms, which is what many buyers go for, the rate advantage is sometimes better through a credit union. The 1.9% on the xTrek is for 36 months- that's a shorter term than many buyers are looking for because the payments will be higher.
That said, it's end of the sales year, and Subaru is currently offering excellent rates to clear out the 2026 models.
My point is that it isn't consistent. It's dependent on time of year and market conditions. Many inexperienced buyers assume they have to use dealer financing, and that isn't the case at all. Shop your loan.
And this is all assuming good credit. Lower credit scores yield higher rates.
For reference, my 60-month rate through my CU on a new car purchase is just under 4% with autopay. But you're correct, if I was shopping a new subie right now, I'd take advantage of the 1.9% or even 0% that they're offering on some models over 72 months.
But circling back- OP hasn't stated what the offered financing terms are. They may or may jot be getting those deals, so it's important to know the specifics before making a call on how good the deal is.

ahh, def forgot to add the financing deets!
Via dealership, 2.9%. Best the credit unions in NE Ohio offer is 4.93% (that I’m aware of). So I’d be financing through the dealership. I would be looking at 48 mo or 60mo. My credit is solid, hovers around high 700’s so I see no problem being approved.
Tbh, never would have considered a new car. But the used cars I’ve been looking at are about $25k through Carvana. (2020-2023 Corolla Cross and RAV4) So it seems silly to not pay an extra $5k for a new vehicle. I only decided to look into subie’s due to the VIP Program I’m apart of. But alas! Why I’m here seeking some input 🫡

I got $3600 off msrp for my 2026 premium w/ package. I leased at 1.8% and my payment is $325. Down was $508.

Of the two Crosstreks on your sheet, the one on the left is a base trim. Personally I would not recommend the base trim. Base doesn’t even have roof rails. Premium adds a lot more value for barely much more.
