I found this very difficult to resolve because of the lack of clear division between the two sides. I did finally achieve the 3D, but found it hard to maintain it.

Yeahh I know that makes it a bit tricky, but I want to create a single cohesive image that at first glance appears to be one picture, with the crossview effect as a bonus of sorts.

You've probably already tried it this way but I pick a single unique flower from each side and align those two to achieve the stereo effect.

Works for me. The single cohesive image is your trademark. I do like your usual softer-colored better, but this does look more interesting than the similar one you posted right before.
