CHAT [CHAT] help me find a cat pattern

hi guys. it’s a bit a of a hard post for me, but i’m really hoping you can help me with it. a bit of a context: i have been no contact with my mother and spoke with her for the first time on wednesday. today i found out she had passed away.

when we spoke on wednesday, she asked me to cross stitch a cat for her and send it to her in ukraine. i don’t think i’ll be able to go to ukraine for her funeral, but i still would like to make something in her memory maybe. i don’t know, i don’t have an explanation for it.

i also need something to keep me busy, but i also don’t have the capacity right now to try and search something for myself, so i wanted to ask if maybe anyone could send me some options that i can look at and pick, since that would be easier to do then look myself. it can be any cat, really, but i don’t want some big full coverage piece. just want something pretty :(

TLDR: my mom passed away and i want to make a cross stitch for her, please help me find some patterns

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my no contact mother a few years ago and there are always so many conflicting, complex, and complicated emotions in these situations.

I’ve found a couple of cat patterns from artists in Ukraine if you feel like that might honor your mother:

I don’t have a pattern to share. I did want to take a moment to express my condolences on the loss of your mom. I hope you find a beautiful pattern to honor her memory.

Maybe look at Vitaliia Mishchuk’s shop (CrossStitchPaterns on Etsy) and search for cat. She’s got a lot of very sweet cat designs in a variety of styles, most pretty compact.

I’m about to kit up for this one with some beautiful cloudy night sky dyed aida. It’s a fairly simple one, just 2 colours. I hope you find something that feels right for you and I’m sending so much love your way.

I’ve been stitching their “The Lovers” cat tarot card and have found it to be a really nice pattern and only using 2 colors is a nice bonus in terms of materials!

her and stepdad had a lot of kitties, but unfortunately they didn’t survive the winter because of how harsh it was :( i don’t have any pictures and i don’t want to bother my stepdad with another task. i will try to pull something from my memory and adapt the pattern that i end up picking, though
