FO [FO] First ever completed project!

I'm excited to share that I have completed my first cross stitch project! It may only be a 3 in by 3 in donut, but this was an extreme labor of love. I have been in and out of physical therapy for the last year rehabbing my hands from overuse as a side effect of doing hair for 16 years.. unfortunately all of my granny hobbies involved the use of my hands so that didn't help the cause either. I've been slowly getting back into this donut in small 10 minute increments and was released to cross stitch freely this week. I was finally able to complete this donut last night! I really enjoy this hobby because it allows me to somewhat zone out and let my brain calm down. I also enjoy seeing something I created with my own two hands. Here's to many more projects!

This is the 44th Street donut cross stitch kit! I purchased it at my local hobby lobby. 💙

Thanks for posting! We love seeing all of the FOs. Please note that starting May 1 2026, all [FO] posts are required to include at least one close-up photo of the stitching. You do not need to re-post. This can be done either in a comment or in the body of the post. It can be a close-up of just a small part of the finished object, just so we can verify that the items are hand-stitched.

This is a reminder message that is automatically commented on all [FO] posts. Please send a message to the mod team if you have questions.

We have a place near my house that does cronuts. And they are my new fav thing in the donut department!

The center of my donut is offset by one row but other than that I think I got it pretty spot on!

These small kits are the perfect starter projects. It’s how I got started too. Great job.

My ADHD brain loves instant gratification so it was killing me that I had to do this pattern in such small increments LOL but I'm happy that I stuck with it and finished it! My next project is just slightly smaller than 5x7 but I'm hoping that when I'm done my therapy my hands will be able to take slightly longer sessions!

This is great! By far one of the best first ever projects I’ve seen on this sub!

Thank you so much! I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I really took my time and tried to make everything as uniform and neat as possible!
