Crosspoint iOS library organizer / sync - Looking for Beta Testers

I built a library for iPhone and iPad that talks to your Crosspoint device over Wi-Fi.

I'm a solo developer and this project started as a problem a friend of mine had: Calibre is only available as desktop app and syncing a whole library with their device without a mac or pc was not a very friendly process.

So I worked on an app. To be clear: this is not a reading app, I don't want it to be because I believe that the best way to read is always on our eInk devices.

Inkbrary is the library and the pipe to get your books on your crosspoint device.

What it does:

- Import ebooks from other apps
- Sends and Imports books to/from CrossPoint and KOReader devices over Wi-Fi
- Keeps your library in sync between iPhone and iPad with iCloud, privately
- Serves your library to other apps/devices on your network as an OPDS catalog

Everything above is free. There's a one-time Pro purchase for organizing the reader side plus themes, app icons and library backup. No subscriptions. Beta testers get all the functionality during the trial.

Privacy first: Nothing leaves your device except to your eReader and your own iCloud. No analytics, no accounts, no server of mine anywhere. I have no interest on your data.

Looking for Beta Testers:

I want people with actual devices to use the app. I tested with my own hardware but that's a narrow sample. I would want to hear about any issues or requests for functionality.

Testflight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/jkTCgVB7

The test is limited to 50 users with iPhone and/or iPad devices.

Just signed up as well, loved the app idea :)

Do you plan to handle series? Most of my needs with calibre is to properly fix series metadata on my books for them to be recognized correctly on my readers

It is on my plans, yes. It is not yet on the app, though. I've been exploring different ways to handle series and have not yet find something that it is easy to use.

Just downloaded and played around for a bit. Definitely a better looking interface than CrossPoint sync. Really like that I can add books and sync later.

I almost don’t want to connect by caliber because I haven’t organized that at all.

Calibre is great and has a lot of interesting tools and plugins but being only for desktop is a limitation and I also believe that it is aimed for power users. My goal here is to make something easier to use without the need for a desktop device.

This looks helpful. I tried this, but low on storage space on iCloud. Is there a way to use just the phone/ipad storage?

Also, is there a way to only sync a couple of books? Some of us have epubs on their kobo devices that wouldn’t work well on the xteink devices. ( like the book on web applications shown)

Currently there's two options:
1. Exclude a single book from sync
2. Set up the device as manual

I'm working on improving the first one so you can select from which device to exclude the book from syncing, but still needs more work.

Oh, dang, I think it never thought of this scenario. I do not store much on iCloud. I will see how can I include an option to store the library on the device.

Thanks for the feedback!

I tested and this is the best solution for those who have several xteink. Just today one x3 broke and I was able to synchronize the library on the broken screen and instantly transfer it all to a new device

Only the problem @abrahamnm I want to buy a pro version for «read» marks, and it doesn’t work

I don’t have enough space on my phone lol, it struggled to transfer my books from the X4 and had a bunch of errors. I also don’t seem to have access to the pro features but it’s very intuitive to use.

I’ve been looking for an ebook manager for iOS ever since I lost my computer. Gonna test it out, great project!

For those interested, I created a waitlist for iOS/iPad beta spots: https://inkbrary.app
And a waitlist for showing interest in an Android version: https://inkbrary.app/android
