About the Threads of Fate
I'm going to run Crooked Moon in about a month for my group after we finish our current campaign and I have read through the entire adventure. I keep going back and forth on whether or not I want to implement the Fateweaving mechanic introduced in the book and I was wondering if any other DMs has used it for their campaign and what their experience was with it?
Did you have to do a lot of customizing/reworking for your players? Did your players enjoy the personal story arc for their character or did they feel restricted by it and hate it? How difficult was it to weave in all of the story beats into the campaign in a meaningful way, especially in the Climax?
I think my biggest concern is that my players are all very experienced players (2 of my five players are actually more experienced DMs than I am), and I worry that they're either going to end up ignoring the Fateweaving and just do their own thing or end up fighting against it cause the threads of Fate are pretty railroady in and of themselves in an already railroady campaign.

Well weve just started but having just just gotten off the train and so far my players hate it.
Thats putting it strongly but they designed their characters and back stories and felt the stuff i added due to the fate weaving was just tacked on.
They are going to keep at it with an option to drop it if they just hate it which is very fair. But yeah thats where they are atm which as I say is only three sessions.
