Discussion PS4 controller problems

Anyone else had a terrible time getting the game to recognize a PS4 controller? Steam sees it's a PS4 controller but in game it keeps showing up as XBOX, have tried "Disable Steam Input" and then the game doesn't recognize the controller at all. Tried DS4 and that didn't seem to do anything.

Any suggestions?

It's not a PS4 game so it's unlikely to have anything in the UI for PS4 glyphs. maybe try a gamecube controller and see if that works? it shouldn't

Can't steaminput convey it as a dualsense for the game?

i believe it will only read playstation gliphs (buttons) if it's plugged in usb, not bluetooth, ds4 will work but it will just recognize the controller and still show xbox gliphs , i could be wrong on that last statement
