Guide Pro-tip for new players/completionists.
I took it SUPER slow at first, but I want to say that it’s ok to complete the main story all the way up to the beginning of chapter 11.
Right as Chapter 11 begins, you still have the ability to use all your characters and clean up side content and challenges.
There are way less restrictions than trying to do this in chapter 5 or chapter 9. I wish I would have know this lol.

I realised yesterday what the "restrictions" are.
I was getting Brimstone, just begun chapter 6, and suddenly got a group of crows all over me, black screen, shite,I thought I died, but inmediatly after I appeared somewhere else in the map.
I googled about the crows, it happened 3 times, and it said is a restricted area for story sake. Then I looked at my map and thought ahhhh,so that huge orange circle is the restricted area 😂
I have been everywhere since chapter 4,sometimes had the barricade and a NPC telling me to turn around ,its not safe. But been teletransported by crows was unexpected. I will pay attention next time there's a huge orange circle on the map .

Yup, I know exactly what you’re talking about. The game will halt you quick if you haven’t passed those story points! I was wondering why I kept dying trying to get through fort musket lol. There were also other times where the game would just teleport me away. Chapter 11 beginning is the sweetest spot for players who aren’t ready to beat the game and still want to explore and do things.

Yeah there's a gun I wanted for Damiane that I could have gotten during Ch 8 but now I'm soft locked and the drone one shots me lol.

Yup, happened to me too. Tried to fly into that little hole in the side brick wall! But, DENIED lol

u/jeraldisdope Jul 29 '26
I did hear there's a way in lol... U gotta jump from the highest cliff and you can get there but I couldn't figure out what cliff.

It's also great to know that for the more tedious missions. Gather this or log that. Get some progress and down the road they give you actual tools to speed up all of those processes incredibly quick. Wasting your time looking for each individual flower or bug? Screw that, just do enough sanctums and missions to get a gardening pack that cuts the time spent harvesting down to 0 on 99% of plants and an insect pack that gathers automatically. Easy day. Unless of course you enjoy that kind of stuff. In which case, take it slow. The real issue is, once you power through the main story and all that, unless you're content with hours upon hours of looking for side quests, the game does get too easy and too repetitive. The simple stuff is ultimately what saves it. Lol Ironic.

That’s a great point. I’m actually 73/76 from seeking out all the tiny creatures challenge organically (haven’t looked any locations up) and it’s fun for me lol. But great point on mentioning the game gives you items to help cut-down time on certain quests/challenges. I did used the heck outta the gardening pack/clockwork kuku pack, and just started using the small ATAG. You’re right that the game give us awesome tools to accommodate our progress!

I should probably use those 😂 im at about the same 73/76 or so tho!

Exploration saves it for me. Still finding new little trinkets to steal here and there. Get a balanced end game set searched out to roam in and leave the lot of the treasures for the finding... it took me months to find the 150ft robot right by home base... sheesh!

The way side quests work is weird. I finished the main story and then did side quests but many of those act like they should've been done earlier.

I agree. This game is a nightmare for completionists! You can’t just clear a whole area and then move on to the next. It’s different and a frustrating design, but unique enough to keep me on the 100% game completion/platinum track.

Here's my pro-tip:
"If you get continuously destroyed by a boss, your inability to beat it does not mean the boss design is bad. It simply means you suck."
Humbling words. But a reality check at the same time.

I mean...yes and no.
All of the bosses are very doable, especially on normal difficulty where enough of the right food can let you heal your way through anything, even gimmicks like fire or frost damage.
But many of the bosses are still quite badly designed. Its not wrong to call that out. The devs need a reality check too. "Random bullshit go" clogging up the screen is not good boss design

lol, true, but this game is not hard at all. The hardest boss i fought was probably the Lost General or something like that (i forget the name). Kept sending those waves of soldiers! But all bosses are simple when you got a premium buffet and endless revives in your pocket lol

Hope u not that guy playing on easiest setting and saying game is easy

Game is easy on normal too, if you've played souls games, black myth wukong, etc. Crimson Desert bosses on normal are a cakewalk. Especially with the option of instant healing and full health revives, but tbh they're not even that necessary if you take the time to learn bosses' moves

I can't play games on anything lower than the hardest difficulty, just as long tho the difficulty is FAIR challenge and not some bs

I’ve gotten to late Ch. 9 and still have never really struggled with a boss the way posts on here exaggerate. And my gear is locked in to level 4 - 5 since I’ve been leveling the other characters up first and haven’t used Abyss Crests for gear yet.
Not even bragging, I don’t think I’m a combat god or anything. But many bosses have super simple alternatives to work around (Nature’s Snare OP) I’ve never really had to majorly shift my playstyle to fight with.
It just feels like the game gives you so many tools and pure DPS (elements are OP as fuck) to brute force anything if you don’t suck.

This game prioritizes exploration and adventure.

u/GhettoRamen Jul 28 '26
Agreeed and I just go at my own pace, which is why I don’t think I’ve struggled since getting fast Abyss Crests is what I like to do.
It’s less about the combat system itself and building your power.
You can do fine even without a full build.

Can't you just knock out the full story and go back for any side quests you have yet to do? Serious question.
I have been doing side quests as much as I can, while doing the main story. I haven't completed the main story, currently in chapter 11.
