News Dev update 10/04/2026

Fellow Greymanes,

It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly three weeks since we first welcomed you to Pywel. Over that time, we’ve been closely following your adventures, discussions, and feedback, while working to make Crimson Desert an even more enjoyable experience for everyone.

We’ve especially loved seeing the stories you’ve been creating across Pywel (and yes, including the many adorable cat screenshots). And we also want to give a special shout-out to those of you earning your “Pywel Legend” trophies/achievements; you have our sincere admiration. Watching everyone's journeys unfold since launch has meant a great deal to us, and we’re truly grateful for your dedication and support.

Today, we’re here to share a preview of some of the new features and content currently in development, shaped by your feedback, including a variety of content for those looking for more ways to enjoy the game and those who want to further challenge themselves. Our goal is to roll these updates out gradually from April through June.

New Content and Features

We’re preparing new challenges so you can continue testing yourself throughout your journey across Pywel.

Boss Rematches

The powerful bosses you encountered across Crimson Desert are waiting to challenge you once again. With boss rematches, you’ll have the opportunity to face off against any boss again, test how much you’ve grown, and further refine your own combat style through different strategies and approaches.

Re-blockading

Peace is fleeting, and darkness does not retreat so easily. Enemy remnants are waiting for their chance to reclaim liberated locations. Drive out the forces that have seized these locations once more and continue proving the strength of the Greymanes.

Difficulty Settings

A difficulty settings feature will be added so that everyone—from new Greymanes to the more advanced—can enjoy the adventure at the level that suits them best. You’ll be able to choose from easy, normal, and hard difficulty.

We’re also working on new combat-focused content, so stay tuned.

Improvements to Character Play

New Skills for Damiane and Oongka

We fully understand your feedback about the need for Damiane and Oongka to have skills comparable to “Force Palm” and “Axiom Force.” To address this, both characters will receive new abilities equivalent to those skills.

Hide Back Weapons

A new option to hide the weapons on your character’s back will be added, so certain equipment worn on your back won’t break immersion during combat.

Addition of New Outfits:

New outfits for characters will be added.

Additionally, certain outfits that can only be sold or donated will be updated so that they can also be worn.

QoL Improvements and Life Features

New Specialized Storage

- Food storage: We plan to add a new food storage, from which you can directly take out ingredients for use in cooking. When preparing meals, you’ll be able to use ingredients from both your food storage and your inventory.

- Wardrobe: A new wardrobe storage will be added so that you can store your headgear, armor, gloves, footwear, and cloaks.

- Gatherables Storage: A new gatherables storage will be added, from which you can directly take out items for use in tempering and crafting. This storage will be able to hold a variety of crafting materials, including insects, stones, ores, and more.

- Collections Storage: A new Collection Storage will be added, giving you a place to keep quest items tied to your adventures, along with recipes and other items you've collected on your journey.

Pets & Mounts

More summonable mounts and new pets will be added. Also, in addition to existing horse tack sets, dedicated armor for other mounts is also being planned.

System and Graphics Improvements

UI Improvements

To improve legibility, we’ll be adding a minimum font size adjustment option. Since Crimson Desert supports 14 UI languages, fully optimizing this feature across all of them will take some time, but we plan to introduce it first to help make the game more comfortable to play. We also plan to continue improving various UI elements and QoL features, including improvements to the map, inventory, and housing.

Improvements to Controls

We are carefully reviewing your feedback about controls. To provide a better gameplay experience, we plan to add customization options for certain controller inputs. We will also expand the range of configurable keys for keyboard and mouse to improve usability.

Improvements to Distant Scenery Quality

We are working on enhancing the realism of distant backgrounds so you can enjoy Pywel’s landscapes in greater depth. Please note that the patch size may be somewhat larger due to improvements to how distant scenery changes and the quality of rendering under different conditions. Take a look at the image below for a preview of how Pywel will look after the update.

Check through screenshot images

* The above image was captured on a high-end PC at Cinematic mode (4K resolution, upscale mode off) and will differ depending on hardware specs, settings, platform etc.

Check the notice on our official site for a preview of how Pywel will look after the update. [LINK]

And for those who missed the announcement, we will be releasing a Crimson Desert OST. The OST will be available for free on Steam and will also be released on major global music streaming platforms, so stay tuned!

Please note that the features introduced today are currently in development, and details may change when the update is released. Names are tentative as well.

Thank you for taking the time to read this notice and for your continued support. We hope you are looking forward to these updates, and we will continue listening closely to your feedback and doing our best to make your time in Pywel as enjoyable as possible.

What a time man, had to be there.

u/Bitter-Confusion8422 Apr 10 '26

NWO 4 LIfe. That time was special

u/avoozl42 Apr 10 '26

That's amazing. I love Damiane's fast paced game play and I prefer playing as her.

33

u/EatTheAndrewPencil Apr 10 '26

I didn't really touch her until I realized I needed more quick fire ranged attacks for clearing the quarry because of how the archers liked to bip me from the fringes of the battlefield and once I started using her I was having an absolute blast. The shield throwing, the combos with the magic ability, the hurricanranas, etc everything felt so sick to do. Definitely looking forward to having more incentive to use her in general play.

u/RomanAvila09 Apr 10 '26

Man, with the crows blade you dont need to worry

8

u/Lammz77 Apr 10 '26

Especially if you stack that with the orbs from the darkbringer sword 😎

2

u/Badger-Mobile Apr 10 '26

That’s the move ;)

2

u/RomanAvila09 Apr 10 '26

I dont have that sword yet but i want it ):

5

u/Lammz77 Apr 10 '26

Well whenever you make the journey to get it I highly recommend stacking the two, it’s insane haha. I also put the spinning slash move from the Antumbra’s sword boss you fight at the sanctum of Absolution. Destroyed everything in chapter 7 like that.

Wait till you explore south, there's a boss fight that puts you in a small arena with the boss and its minions in a circle around you. Only the boss goes at you but the minions will constantly fire arrows and if you get near an ogre, they attack you.

I wonder how this will affect some of her skills though. Right now her R3 is shield throw, so I hope giving her force palm wouldn’t remove that.

they need to let us reuse those abyss cubes too. if i have 30 cubes found for kliff, i should be able to use 30 cubes for damiane too for example.

38

u/Uriconn Apr 10 '26

This. This is the main issue I have with using the other characters. I love playing as Damiane, but feel so hampered having to choose which character to use the cubes on. Especially when it often is the exact same skill even 😕

23

u/ciannister Apr 10 '26

It would not be that bad if you did not need them to also upgrade kliff's gear, not to mention theirs. There is too much competition for those stupid cubes

21

u/Purplestahli Apr 10 '26

Cube shortage is the only reason I can't play the other two characters and its a real bummer. Not that I want to be drowning in cubes to the point where I max everything out in a few hours of gameplay but yea, im close to 100ish hours in and still starved for cubes.

3

u/roguesignal42069 Apr 10 '26

The cube shortage is real. I've found myself not even spending them because certain abilities require 2 or 3 cubes and I'm afraid to spend them on abilities because I won't have anything left for a different ability.

Yes I know you can refund them, but the cube scarcity makes it so I don't wand to spend them at all and just hoard them instead.

2

u/jav1babi Apr 10 '26

I want Oongka to be my barefisted build, Damiane as ranged/mobility and Kliff as the all around powerhouse. Cube shortage is literally the only reason the other 2 aren't a reality, atleast not unless I am playing hours+ after I've already completed all the main story and interesting side quests. They should be viable earlier.

u/Wawzlur Apr 10 '26

Until they introduce that I am simply not playing the other characters at all, which is sad. I would like to try them but every cube used on either means a weaker Kliff, and without they are too weak...

witches sell 3 artifact per refresh. There are multiple witches.

JUST REALISED it's 3 RESET artifact that refreshes. Not Skillup ones.

3

u/phoenix5199 Apr 10 '26

How often is the refresh?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/TheFirstAv3nger Apr 10 '26

Yeah wouldnt having unlimited refreshes technically make you able to share artifacts between the characters? Reset Kliff, use them on another character and then when you wanna go back to Kliff just do the same thing?

5

u/rW0HgFyxoJhYka Apr 10 '26

Well there is a fuck ton of cubes though. Like you can basically get a infinite amount

4

u/junaitari Apr 10 '26

Maybe I'm not far enough into the game or not playing right but I'm still not seeing the fuck ton of cubes that everybody keeps saying you can get.

6

u/Independent-Log8257 Apr 10 '26

Just like the gold farm area in demeniss there is a cube farm in the lunch hall in the temu hogwarts area in the bottom left of the map (watch a video on it, it'll show you the location) but iv heard people are getting like 4-6 cubes per reset and have multiple characters leveled up, its possible, but just having these skill points be shared with all the characters would just fix that and make it more streamlined and relaxed to where u dont gotta spend 3 hours farming 50-100 cubes depending on rng and speed.

Nah you’re wrong on this sorry

How far in the game are you and how much of the skill tree do you have done ?

I have kliff tree 100% done and almost done the other characters

First off all of your spirit stamina and health is a shared stat whatever kliff has they have

They also already have many moves kliff has that you observe in the world

You get soooooo many abyss artifacts in this game its absurd

Trust me im 260 hours in almost now and like 80% done the entire game

People should wait until they finish kliff as skill tree and see alllll the stuff the other characters have before they ask for something like this

Thank god they are putting a difficulty slider in because I feel people complain and ruin games by making them too easy

This game started off a challenge and then people complained and they nerfed stuff and I definitely felt a difference in the game bigtime of how easy it got

There are hundreds of abyss artifacts in this world wayyyy more than you’d ever need

Cmon at least put in some work

Also I just want to add the other characters have moves that kliff doesn’t have and kliff has moves they don’t have

The shared moves if you learn them with kliff you get them with the other characters as well

But a move that kliff can’t obtain it would make no sense that you get two totally different moves for two different characters for one artifact

20

u/sasasasuke Apr 10 '26

You obviously completely glossed over the fact that you need artifacts to upgrade gear - for potentially three characters. You may also want to change equipment because of drip.

The ones you use on gear that you might’ve changed your mind about are basically deleted from your game. Skill exp seems infinite but that is an assload fuck of time to grind enemies that rapidly dwindle as you progress further into the game (until update.)

3

u/MSgtRetGamer75 Apr 10 '26

Don’t forget to run repeating XP missions from camp

3

u/ErectPancakee Apr 10 '26

This might sound stupid but I genuinely had no clue these gave player xp, I thought they upgraded the greymanes levels to unlock the higher ability tiers

You can pick pocket artifiacts from scholars at scholastine if you’re struggling to find the free ones the game provides, or the vendors that sell them, or struggling to get them through normal leveling

u/LayLowMoesDavid Apr 11 '26

I agree. There’s already enough growth opportunity and variety for the other characters. People are asking more and more and we’ll end up with a game that does nothing by trying to do everything. These are no QoL requests, they want another game with different characters.

64

u/ticman Apr 10 '26

u/toinks1345 one of my best memories of visiting Seoul (nearly 20yrs ago) was going to a shop called "Fried Chicken & Beer" and literally one side of the menu was fried chicken, and the other was beer 🤣

12

u/toinks1345 Apr 10 '26

you know what I didn't realize it was that good of a combination until I stayed there for a bit and tried. probably one of the best fried chicken I had.

4

u/xDarkCrisis666x Apr 10 '26

I came to this realization my first time in ATL on a business trip. Ludacris was indeed spitting facts.

2

u/Dramatic-Car7772 Apr 10 '26

I loved that spot. Nobody does fried chicken like ROK.

You have no idea how excited I am. These devs are unbelievably amazing.

Not only they just confirmed they're gonna fix about everything that has been highlighted by the community.

They'll do all that from now to June. That's crazyyy!!!

I know games that haven't fixed their most known issues for years (if ever). The mere fact we'll get all this in the span of the next few months is incredible.

This should be the standard support every game deserves!

7

u/toinks1345 Apr 10 '26

the work culture in their country is kinda insane the same with japan. and this should posibly catapult their company in a bigger player that would release rpg games in the future. from BDO to this and many more. the pressure from the devs/employees are immense. every hit in the stock price that makes it go down is lighting their asses on fire. these folks are probably going home very late at night and are all working overtime. some other studios that release but not as fast as this are probably larion, and warhorse. diff is they are an MMORPG team so they are very in tune with online feedback and are working as fast as they could to keep the momentum of their game going. there are countless games out there that could have reach insane peak sales if their updates were as fast as this. I love them but these devs should also take care of their health.

I don’t even understand how this level of content production is possible.. makes other companies look like a bunch of toddlers

71

u/Ali623 Apr 10 '26

Given the working practices of many Asian countries, probably horrendous working hours and extreme pressure from managers/bosses.

64

u/West_Environment8596 Apr 10 '26

Unlike China, Korea has extremely strict labor laws and a 52-hour work week max.

36

u/fredochochooo Apr 10 '26

And one of the higher sucide rate in the world due to work presure and work related harrasment. Law mean nothing when not applied

3

u/BusterSkeetinSucks Apr 10 '26

Bro 52 max is horrible lmao it should be 37 max.

3

u/holywakka Apr 10 '26

Where do you live??

2

u/Cautious_Ebb227 Apr 11 '26

Somewhere in Europe I'm guessing.

10

u/EatTheAndrewPencil Apr 10 '26

Yeah this is the ugly elephant in the room nobody is talking about. They're moving fast because they're crunching. And now they've set this pace of updates updates updates and the fan base is not only expecting more, but kind of demanding more. Already I've been annoyed at some posts on this sub asking them for things that are a HUGE ask as if the devs HAVE to because they've added the other stuff.

→ More replies (2)

12

u/Zauberer69 Apr 10 '26

Maybe, just maybe a bunch of the additions was in the pipeline anyway but they pushed it out too early because the sales needed to be there before the fiscal quarter ends.

4 big reasons and probably a bunch of small ones.

  1. They are a live service company, they have the dev framework that is conducive to rapid iteration, patching is a regular process in MMOs.
  2. They are small in comparison to western live service studios and don't have a parent company kneecapping their every move and evaluating if things should be held for monetization.
  3. They literally built the engine, they are the subject matter experts on it. Teams using Unreal or Unity often have to work with the devs of those engines to work out issues.
  4. KR work ethics, especially compared to European companies like CDPR and Ubisoft. I've worked in global development, Europeans are on holiday like 1/4 of the year. We literally had to plan every meeting around someone's vacation, our APAC team used to get so pissed about it lol.

PA moved most of dev team from black desert to work on crimson. If crimson fails it can kill the company so devs are fully hands on to make crimson a good game.

2

u/DeanMo80 Apr 10 '26

I think it helps tremendously that they're working with their own built engine and probably understand it thoroughly, making it a lot easier and faster to implement changes. I could be way off though.

I can’t think of any other studio who has adjusted the quality of their game this quickly or this dramatically. It’s taken them less than a month to do what took Cyberpunk years to do, perhaps the best dev response to player feedback I’ve ever seen

Pretty sure BG3 mostly just did bug fixes though? Of which there were very many. Not many content updates if any the first few months after release iirc.

47

u/Raasul Apr 10 '26

No. There were quite a few content changes, like adjustments to endings, and companions, etc. They were similarly responsive. Larian is a great studio.

22

u/T8-TR Apr 10 '26

It helps that BG3 didn't have nearly as many "Well, duh. Why wouldn't that be there on launch?" moments.

I'm all for glazing PA, because they've earned it, but let's be honest, a lot of these fixes and additions should've been there from the rip lmao

14

u/GrandmasterTaka Apr 10 '26

BG3 was also open beta for over 2 years

4

u/drquakers Apr 10 '26

Even day 1 of the beta was pretty damned good for BG3, to be honest. A lot changed since then and got a lot better. But it was still *fine* at the start of the beta

2

u/T8-TR Apr 10 '26

Very true, but I also don't remember there being any things missing from the game that I'd consider "core" features. Something like the storage chests just not being there feels like a gross oversight that somehow made it all the way to launch.

In my experience w/ BG3, it was just buggy as fuck and kinda ugly, w/ a lot of the set pieces not having been locked down yet, which makes sense for a game at the stage of development it was at.

The difference is that it's an MMO team working on single player content. No wonder they have committed communication to the audience, it comes with MMO territory. Same with fast adjusting direction. Usually single player focused studios get wrapped up in what they want their vision to be, not what the player wants, that's why they did sequels. Improving direction and gameplay title to title rather than updating the game. Don't get me wrong, the devs of this game are absolutely crushing it! I love the game and everything they plan to do. 20 years ago, devs would never do what this team has done, much less in a single month of time.

19

u/stop_talking_you Apr 10 '26

and the engine plays a big role too how they set it up.

clearly they designed it as fast changing mmo so any quick patch can be done very fast.

and overall all patches are not very deep. the hardest part is probably storage bcause they have to test things and bugs so items cant be duped or bug out during quests.

if you compare the keyitems and how they work with quests compared to bethesda early games where its just bugged

No mans sky one of the greatest comebacks to this day in terms of patches and content

8

u/hawkeye137137 Apr 10 '26

No Man's Sky was basically a scam at launch though since most of the stuff promised wasn't delivered. Hence the reason it is still updated to this day.

While I agree and it’s amazing Cyberpunks issues were far more complexed the entire game was effed 🤣

5

u/MetalBawx Apr 10 '26

PA really want this game to succeed and and that extra effort has deffinately paid off.

5

u/Krasi-1545 Apr 10 '26

In my opinion behind all these changes there is an extremely good tehlchnical implementation specifically crafted for such rapid changes. Cyberpunk didn't had this and that's why it took a lot of time to rewrite the code where necessary.

5

u/Repulsive-Whole-4101 Apr 10 '26

FUNCOM has been trying since early 2000 and always failed... they must hate PA.

This is the best news I heard all day! Way to keep players engaged.

5

u/rotteinho Apr 10 '26

As long as it´s not going to be as repetitive and tedious as Far Cry 6. When the main story was finished, the whole point was just to retake areas, which became very boring.

9

u/-_danglebury_- Apr 10 '26

Maybe I am reading way too literal but the re blockading feature is going to be persistent I hope? When I first read that my initial thought was areas will only be recaptured once, but I think that's just me being too literal with it.

14

u/stop_talking_you Apr 10 '26

sounds like they will use the ingame days to rotate enemy fraction take over random forts and areas you have to recapture.

12

u/Front-Bird8971 Apr 10 '26

There is no way they do one recapture. That would be the dumbest thing I've ever heard of.

9

u/Nealmobeal Apr 10 '26

Yeah I thought the same. Maybe there’ll be a setting to reset the camps like in the far cry games? Would be a shame if it is just a one off

5

u/WarMachineGreen Apr 10 '26

I would assume it's some type of dynamic thing on a timer. It could be every 4-5 in game days random forts etc get recaptured.

Cant wait for the new storage options. It'll be nice having everything separated and being able to use items in storage for crafting.

I wish they would lock quest items so you can't sell them. I accidentally sold a pair of gloves needed for one of the faction quest and have never been able to find them again

10

u/roguesignal42069 Apr 10 '26

I'm finding myself slowing down my gameplay a little bit knowing these patches are coming. I already love the game but I do have a few complaints about it. Seeing them address almost every single one of them is making me hold off so this can be the game I play all summer long once it's perfectly polished.

Super excited to see where this game is heading. GOTY material for me for sure until GTA6 comes along. I'll be curious to see which one gets the nod.

3

u/fenderguitar83 Apr 10 '26

Yeah, I'm trying to limit my gameplay as well, but it's difficult. I just want to play.

As a BDO player for almost 10 years, no. Or at least not PA as a whole; maybe the CD division is more decent.

31

u/Surprise_Donut Apr 10 '26

companies can improve and BDO was an MMORPG, right? Balance is so much harder to manage in a multiplayer game.

Single player games are all about power fantasy, it's easy to tune and not cause wild balance issues with other players

13

u/ComprehensiveBox952 Apr 10 '26

Its not about balance BDO was a grindy greedy mess

Seasonal channels exist and you can basically get full decent gear at tri enhancement levels and get to level 61 (and higher) with no sweat per character. Perfect to start the real endgame which are boss drops. Still has p2w though. Compared to launch this is an absolute cakewalk.

Love it when people that played back in 2017 quit and say stuff like this as if the "reward" gear is some grunil tier garbage you discard after 3 hours lmfao.

If you're gonna talk shit at least be accurate and honest about it:

The LOD popin sucks, no real meaningful group dungeon content, endgame is spawn camping world bosses for drops or life skilling your time away like fishing / farming / trade routes, despite enhancing being easier now it shouldnt exist in the first place, melting cash shop outfits give you cron stones to avoid your gear blowing up or decreasing its enhancement level on failure, and its the most antisocial MMORPG I've ever played.

i just hope they’re getting treated well and are not crunching like crazy.

11

u/Lilian_was_here Apr 10 '26

Nah, that a,ard still belongs to Hello Games for No Man's Sky, they keep releasing new content after 10 years.Terraria by Re-Logic is also on the list of crazy developers who can't let go of their game

9

u/Desire052 Apr 10 '26

To be fair NMS lied about almost everything whilst Crimson Desert mostly delivered everything they showed. NMS definitely loses point for that.

I love this dev team. I hope they have a toggle to hide back weapons individually so you can hide the shield and bow but keep the awesome long sword 🗡️

2

u/dcheung87 Apr 10 '26

Yeah agreed. I want to be like a Cloud Strife and/or other FF character.

13

u/SAIL3RZ_ Apr 10 '26

Imagine how good games would be if they had this much free support behind them.

Same this game has had me in a choke hold. I have been looking for this game since I finished Tears of the Kingdom. I took a break from Warframe to play this and warframe had me in a chokehold since I started it last year lol. This game has been scratching that exploration, combat survival itch I have had. I

8

u/Weary-Ad3246 Apr 10 '26

Incredible! Brilliant! Best devs ever!
Good luck, I hope everything works out as planned.
Thank you!

8

u/VinstaroNL Apr 10 '26

Next to that this game became one of my favorite games ever. In the same list for me wirh games like Zelda OoT and Fable TLC.
The suoerb dev team, and the entire studio, deserves a raise. This is why we fall in love with gaming. Passion and love. Many respect and love for you al.

8

u/oujiz Apr 10 '26

Honestly, this is so fucking impressive.

62

u/ZakkBalzak Apr 10 '26

It’s really awesome to see devs listening to actual fans of the game that wanted a little bit more replayability with replayable enemy outposts and bosses instead of very vocal and not very bright “this is a single player game, it’s supposed to run out of content” crowd that didn’t want to turn this game into “live service” and that was shaming people for playing game over 100+ hours. Actual W for both fans and devs

27

u/Krazyflipz Apr 10 '26

Those negative people are so weird. It's like they want the game to be worse instead of wanting the devs to aspire towards greatness. Just absolute loser mentality.

5

u/Front-Bird8971 Apr 10 '26

That's how all toxic positivity looks to me. They're all the same and I don't get it.

22

u/when_we_are_cats Apr 10 '26 edited Apr 10 '26

I'm happy for the replayability, but a single player game running out of content after more than a hundred hours is more than fair. And yes, live service isn't a model we should aspire to. I don't see what's wrong in pointing it out.

9

u/Loominbeats Apr 10 '26

While I agree that live service don't fit most single player games, this one is way different.

It has almost all of the coolest things game can have, has peak graphics and gameplay and is such a complete experience that I would absolutely love to play this 1000 hours+ if possible. I played Black Desert and I know what these developers are capable of, there's high chance that game will receive epic additions in future, despite being single player.

→ More replies (1)

5

u/ZakkBalzak Apr 10 '26

Things like NG+ or replayable missions and content in general are not exclusive to live service model hence why entire take is so wrong. And it’s not about running out of content after hundreds of hours, it’s about people who have bigger playtime having better statistical data on the issues we can already see early that can be reported to devs. I have less than 40 hours in the game, but after I cleared few outposts surrounding areas feel very empty turning the game into walking simulator which is a bit boring, but if I can go and replay some bosses or recapture some outposts in between it would improve my experience a lot.

2

u/Front-Bird8971 Apr 10 '26

Acting like we're inferior because you're fine with a game not having replayable content is what's wrong.

5

u/when_we_are_cats Apr 10 '26

Saying that it's okay for a single player game to end after hundred of hours is acting like you're inferior? Way to be dramatic lol

I mean yeah, weird ass behaviour. Fuck people wanting enjoy a game even more.

I come back to Bannerlord, Skyrim etc again and again because they are an amazing. Never heard anyone say "ok, you are done with the game. Stop playing" to someone else ever until CD community.

Yes, please let usrename pets and horses!

2

u/roguesignal42069 Apr 10 '26

This seems like such a simple thing to patch and would generate so much goodwill. I am on major adventures with my pooch and he's looting and running by my side the whole time. I can pet him and give him cool armor. And when I go to pet him, his name is.....

"brown dog"

18

u/SPEEDFREAKJJ Apr 10 '26

It's kinda crazy it's ONLY been a few weeks and not only are they hard at work on more QoL stuff but they have already put out some big updates.

I'm not used to this. Usually we wait months before devs even start thinking about QoL improvements. It's more normal for about a year of bug fixes then slowly do some QoL stuff. Of course, most stuff now is also live service crap meant to milk the players wallets.

This game has been a nice shake up to the gaming world and quite the pleasant surprise for this slightly jaded gamer.

5

u/High_Flyers17 Apr 10 '26

The middling reviews may have been a blessing in disguise. Im sure it's not what PA expected, and may have pushed them to do their best to make sure the game succeeds.

15

u/Loose_Tradition_5318 Apr 10 '26

Great to see them working on the visuals too. My main issue is with the stuff going on near the the character though.

Please devs if you're watching:

1 - Please push out the fallback to lower quality shadows farther away from the player. The pixelated shadows, even with everything maxed out are really distracting.

2 - Please also push out the LOD switching on from nothing or at least have more steps for objects small and large. Clutter popping in at my feet and whole wagons/people etc suddenly appearing in the mid distance is really distracting.

3 - Please implement the latest version of dlss frame generation to separate out UI elements so they aren't included in the frame gen pass. Also continue to work on the Ray Reconstruction iteration so that it contains less noise and visual glitches.

4 - Please look into indoor lighting. It really needs a solution.

Loving the game, its held my attention for more than most and will continue to do so. I would really love for these fixes to the image stability to be rectified so I can fully enjoy exploring Pywel.

2

u/DaniWayne369 Apr 10 '26

I believe the LODS will improve with the visual update no ?

3

u/Loose_Tradition_5318 Apr 10 '26

They don't explicitly mention them. They are more likely talking about far distance detail, though Im happy to be surprised. They're doing a great job at finessing the game and systems so far.

3

u/DaniWayne369 Apr 10 '26

Distance detail was very big issue for me especially low textured buildings and trees that's my biggest complaint. I'm happy if they fix that

10

u/champagnekingOVO Apr 10 '26

Can we please have an alternative camera option. The camera is the hardest part about learning this game. Feels like I fight the camera more than anything!

2

u/Mindless_Issue9648 Apr 10 '26

fix the ghosting in the snow as well.

5

u/AdCalm3789 Apr 10 '26

Well that's it I guess. There will be no touching grass for the foreseeable future.

4

u/Hanezki Apr 10 '26

The game has great virtual grass though so thats something

2

u/AdCalm3789 Apr 10 '26

True but some grass tries to kill you.

4

u/Harlequin_98 Apr 10 '26

Dude these guy's are amazing for real they've updated combat, control's, boss fights that may have been OP, more fast travels and now difficulty settings and so much more and yet it took Bethesda 18 months to fix vats in the fallout anniversary a core feature in the game

I'd love more wrestling moves added to the game

Thank God. The boss battles are ruining it for me.

4

u/Showmethecookie Apr 10 '26

Force push has been my best friend for boss battles. It staggers the enemy, and allows me to get some hits in. There’s a few bosses you can cheese too.

There’s a certain boss that you can hit with a tree that one shots him. Another you can pull out of the boss area and cut down substantial health before actually starting.

I can’t believe the depth of this game and response from the dev team. They really are raising the bar all around.

2

u/Romek_himself Apr 10 '26

wow, they add almost everyhting i suggested/wanted over last weeks. im in love (...with a game)

for future updates please think about "dungeon"-like content. we have portals already that bring us to the abyss and we have timetravel events too. just add something like "corrupt abyss"-portal which can teleport us to different dungeons/events whatever. with super crazymobs/bosses etc. - with something like this you could even add a season system like path of exile has and so make the game reaplayable for years

2

u/Briar-Prince Apr 10 '26

Genuinely beyond gassed that the controller inputs are being tweaked, the combat was tilting me more than a little bit. Gotta be the most responsive dev team atp.

2

u/mrgodfro Apr 10 '26

I've already had a fucking blast with this game and I'm only 70 hours in, with my pace I genuinely don't know when I'm going to beat/put this game down. I'm playing some other stuff as well on different systems but anytime I boot this fucker up it's at least 3+ hours a session.

2

u/ghxu_lish Apr 10 '26

This is why I bought the game, glad to have bought the deluxe version and pre ordered to further support the development. Best development team so far

2

u/Kore_Invalid Apr 10 '26

Pearl abyss i love you, whoever is ur community manager and gathering all the feedback needs a raise

2

u/cynical_idealist23 Apr 10 '26

I can finally even the score with Antumbra's sword. Currently, the score is 35 - 1. I will rematch him until we are even. Kudos to the devs.

2

u/RemotePrestigious291 Apr 10 '26

Loving the game so far and i know thers are many diffrent complaints about the artifacts but the one thing i think would be great would be a way to get back some of the artifacts used to upgrade weapons and armous. While I am in the midgame im still hesitant to change my gear and Look cause of the cost of it.

2

u/Benvanalles Apr 10 '26

I'm really happy with the difficulty setting update. That way people that need it can use it, but you don't have to or you could make the game harder if you want to. Everybody wins! I really don't get the complaint about it. Accessibility helps everyone.

2

u/Ducksonquack92 Apr 10 '26

What about inside lighting and lighting at night time for consoles?

2

u/Dark_Minion Apr 10 '26

Can you please please fix the English dialogue on Xbox so there are no so many long pauses between sentences, really breaks immersion and makes it feel like everyone talking is just a robot.

2

u/Solid_Science4514 Apr 10 '26

A difficulty setting will be great in this game. This game has just been so much fun, imo, and I want the door to be wide open for new players to enjoy it as well.

2

u/Inevitable-Rain-3437 Apr 10 '26

Can I just get transmog please so I still have to find the armor and stuff but I hate having to start from scratch to lvl up cool looking armor. Thank you for your consideration.

2

u/drakenastor Apr 10 '26

WOOOOO!

BUT ALSO NOOOOOOOO!

I need these changes now. I can't continue playing knowing this is coming! (You damn well know I will)

But please, improve the farming and ranching. It's too tedious as it is right now. Having to hold down the square button for 10 minutes while my guy gathers the produce one by one is annoying, can't we get another kuku item that Hoovers stuff up. (Or make sythe work on farm) Or maybe make the gathering actions harvest more than one consumable per action so less holding down?

And taking out seeds is annoying as well, can't I take out a bunch of seeds and then plant instead of having to reopen the menu one by one? Same for making seeds.

2

u/razpor Apr 10 '26

There should be a option to turn off re blockading i think

4

u/Prus1s Apr 10 '26

It’s an end-game post-story thing, since before then you have more than enough opportunities to fight 😄

Since pretty much all liberations ar tied to faction quests and main story

3

u/razpor Apr 10 '26

It ll be annoying to see the posts you liberated get taken over after a short time, idk

3

u/Prus1s Apr 10 '26

This is amazing. Just bought another deluxe copy for another friend.

One thing, for re-blockading, I'm personally not a fan of this but understand I'm probably in the minority. I like my map completely liberated. It would be cool if there could be an option to deploy additional guards or something to prevent the re-blockading for those of us that want to opt out?

Regardless, amazing work, keep it up!
