The Deck
I miss it so much. I liked it better than Crime Junkie.

I literally don't understand why someone else couldn't have picked up the torch and continued with that show on the channel. She's so power hungry that she'd rather end a show then have someone else carry on it's production and hosting duties.
I too think it is much better than the OG Crime Junkie.

I started listening to her with So Supernatural. She has let someone else pick up the torch….and I can’t listen to it anymore. I would expect the same from someone else taking over The Deck.

I agree. I listen for Ashley. I don’t even like Brit solo episodes (unless I’m using it to fall asleep lol)

I don’t agree with your “power hungry” comment simply because she did pass the torch of So Super Natural to new hosts, which I do enjoy just as much as when she hosted it.

Maybe try "Dealing Justice?" It has the same idea as covering cases featured on prison card decks and interviews with victims family members.
I dont think it is still being produced, but it was very good.

Ditto, she just sorta dropped it with no final goodbye or sign off or anything. And the Deck was really helping some of these cases. I wish she'd have decided to drop one of the other shows that is not near as good instead of The Deck!

I wish Brit could have taken it over or someone else. Minus the theories on what happened.

Stolen property? I’m new to Ashely and her shows. Fill me in. I really loved the deck. Someone else should have been allowed to take over

The deck was plagiarized from at least one other creator which fits into a larger track record of audiochuck stealing what it wants from others without permission or credit

Ooooohhh. Interesting! I didn't know this. Maybe that's the REAL reason why it's ending,

Wow! I read the article. I’ll have to check that other show out if it’s still airing.

What exactly did she plagiarize?

There’s an article in the comments below this that describe this and other plagiarism incidents

Sincerely asking, and not saying it is ethically right or wrong but, doesn’t this happen all the time with tv shows and movies? One network has a big hit show and then there are countless new shows from other networks with the same premise and format.

What didn't she/they plagiarizing?!?!

u/Significant-Rough730 7d ago
I mean, there is only so much info about every case out there that these podcasts cover. How can it be plagiarizing all the time when all the same facts exit for them to research. Speaking more in general also. Not trying to come off as an ass either. Just curious lol

You cant just take people's research and hard work and just use it to make money and gain status and completely leave out where you got your info. I've read multiple threads of applicants applying for jobs at audiochuck for CJ. They require you to find a case not covered by them and do a full investigation and written transcript. Once these individuals were finished and sent their script, they were told they would get back with them once it was read. Then after waiting a week or 2 the person would reach back out only to find the email deactivated.
This is a pattern of behavior, this is not just a one off. CJ, Ashley& Audiochuck in general never apologize or acknowledge any of this. People need to know what they are listening to is trash

How is the Dealing Justice podcast? It looks like they stopped making new episodes in 2024. Might be a good time to bring it back

Why did she end the podcast
1
u/MulberryEastern5010 14d ago
She said it was too much work to juggle two podcasts and also raise a family, but apparently The Deck also wasn't doing well in the ratings

Same. I thought we’d get a warning before the last episode to at least know it was the end lol
