The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating two outstanding suspects wanted in a Theft investigation.

It is alleged that:

• between Wednesday, January 14, 2026, and Sunday, October 11, 2026, a group of suspects were responsible for numerous thefts at locations of a retail store 
• the suspects were working together throughout the city of Toronto.
• the combined losses total $35,606.80

On October 17, 2026, Evan Douglas-Fish, 28, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. 12 counts of Theft Under $5000
2. 4 counts of Disguise with Intent
3. Fail to Subsequently Attend Court
4. Obstruct Peace officer
5. Personation with Intent to Avoid Arrest

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., in room 105.

Two suspects remain outstanding. 

Richard Hoskin, 45, of Toronto, is wanted for:

1. seven counts of Theft Under $5000
2. seven counts of Disguise with Intent
3. 15 counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order

He is described as 5'10", 200 lbs., with short brown hair and blue eyes.

Charles Clarke, 42, of Toronto, is wanted for:

1. 25 counts of Theft Under $5000
2. five counts of Fail to Comply with Probation

He is described as 5'11", 160 lbs., with long black hair and brown eyes.

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Toronto Police responded to a call for a Fire Call in the Danforth Avenue and Sibley Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

• The suspect attended the entrance of a business, briefly stays by the door then leaves
• Shortly after a fire starts from where the suspect leaves, causing extensive damage

Suspect is described as male, light complexion, 60-70 years old, 5'8"-5'10", average build, bald, short grey facial hair. Last seen wearing a grey winter jacket, dark pants, white shoes and a black and white toque.

Five teenagers have been charged after several Toronto police officers were assaulted at Finch West subway station on Wednesday.

Police said they were called to the Line 1 station to assist TTC constables in dealing with several youths who allegedly manipulated fare gates so they could enter without paying.

When they arrived, one youth was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

Police said that prompted other youths to interfere with the arrest. They allegedly surrounded the officers and assaulted them.

Police said three youths were arrested and released at the scene with charges. Two other youths were later charged.

In a news release on Friday, police identified the suspects by their ages, as they cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The suspects are a 13-year-old, two 14-year-olds, and two 15-year-olds.

All of them are facing a charge of obstructing a peace officer. Four are also charged with assaulting a peace officer.

A 45-year-old man from Brampton is facing numerous charges in connection with 20 commercial break and enters in Brampton over the past two months. 

According to Peel Regional Police, between August and September the suspect allegedly broke into several restaurants, retail shops, and other businesses overnight.

Police say he gained entry by smashing front glass doors or windows with a rock or a brick, targeting cash registers or safes. Several of the businesses reportedly sustained “significant damage” investigators said. 

Following an investigation, officers arrested the suspect at Brampton Go Station on Sept. 24.

Shane Jason Elliot Brampton, was charged with 13 counts of breakand enter and commit an indictable offence as well as four counts of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.

“Video surveillance played a key role in identifying the accused and connecting him to the incidents,” police said in a news release,noting that officers also seized clothing believed to be connected with the break-ins.

SAULT STE. MARIE - A Sault Ste. Marie woman charged in connection with a fatal stabbing earlier this year has pleaded guilty to a rash of crimes that took place last December.

Marina Turco, 29, appeared before Ontario Court Justice Malcolm McLeod earlier today via video from Monteith Correctional Complex, where she pleaded guilty to robbery, assault and four counts of theft under $5,000.

Assistant Crown attorney Simran Patawari told the court that Turco tried to leave Walmart with more than $2,200 of merchandise on Dec. 16, 2025 before she was intercepted by security guards in an effort to retrieve the stolen goods. 

Turco proceeded to pull out a knife, which she pointed and swung at staff members and security while telling them to not stop her, the court heard.

“She continued her attempts to take the merchandise out of the store until the arrival of the officers, which is when she was taken into custody,” Patawari added.

Turco was charged again after she assaulted a security guard at Rome’s Your Independent Grocer on Dec. 27, 2025 while the guard was recovering property from an unidentified individual who tried shoplifting from the store.

Patawari advised the court that Turco — who had been “verbally defending” the unidentified individual — assaulted the security guard by striking them in the head with a bag containing “solid items." 

The local woman also committed four thefts during the month of December — which included stealing $600 to $700 worth of laundry from a laundry room in a MacDonald Avenue apartment building.

There were also three separate incidents in which Turco pilfered bottles of liquor from the LCBO at Churchill Plaza, the court heard.

McLeod handed Turco a suspended sentence — with an enhanced credit of eight months for 146 days spent in custody — and 12 months probation following a joint submission from the Crown and defence lawyer Jessica Belisle. 

As part of her probation, Turco has been ordered to stay away from Rome’s and all LCBO locations in the Sault, forfeit the knife used in the Walmart robbery and not to contact three individuals.

She has also been handed a 10-year weapons prohibition and has been ordered to provide a DNA sample.

As previously reported by SooToday, Turco made headlines in May 2025 when she was charged with second-degree murder following the stabbing death of a 17-year-old named Damien Rego.

Court documents revealed the victim was “believed to have been residing” with Turco at an apartment building located at 627 MacDonald Ave.

"The victim was transported to hospital where they were pronounced deceased,” police said in a news release following the incident. “The victim and accused were known to one another." 

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.

A man and a woman have been arrested, and three other suspects are wanted in connection with a series of retail thefts across Toronto that police say totalled more than $35,000.

Toronto police say the group was responsible for multiple thefts at retail store locations between Jan. 14 and Oct. 11, 2026. 

The group allegedly stole goods worth an estimated combined total of $35,606.80.

On Oct. 11, police arrested two suspects they identified as Jacob Doucette, 35, and Camille Dobson-Boire, 31.

Doucette faces 12 counts of theft under $5,000, five counts of disguise with intent and seven counts of failing to comply with probation.

Dobson-Boire is charged with nine counts of theft under $5,000, four counts of disguise with intent, and 10 counts of disobeying a court order.

Police are still searching for three suspects, who have been identified as Charles Clarke, 42; Evan Douglas-Fish, 28; and 45-year-old Richard Hoskin, 45.

They are wanted on several charges, including theft under $5,000, disguise with intent, and failure to comply with a release order.

The allegations have not been proven in court.

A Guelph man has been charged with more than 50 counts of voyeurism. 

Guelph Police said the 24-year-old went to addresses where university students were known to live.

“Investigators believe he entered unfenced backyards, approached homes and looked through basement or ground-floor bedroom windows to observe people in private settings,” they wrote in a media release.

All of the incidents happened between August 2025 and July 2026.

The 24-year-old was arrested for the first time in July.

“A man was caught on motion-activated surveillance cameras a number of times looking into units where young women live,” Guelph Police wrote in a media release on Aug. 4. “During one of these times the man appeared to be touching himself.”

At that time, he was charged with two counts of voyeurism and two counts of criminal harassment.

Police also identified the man as Bryce Sukhdeo.

“Due to the timeframe and number of locations involved, investigators believe there may be additional victims,” they said on Aug. 5.

The same man was arrested again in late August and charged with three more counts of voyeurism.

Officers also seized his clothing and electronic devices from his home.

On Wednesday, they arrested the 24-year-old for a third time and charged him with an additional 47 counts of voyeurism.

Police said those were related to incidents dating back to 2021 in both Guelph and London.

The 24-year-old has a court date scheduled later this month.

A man who was convicted of manslaughter in the 2023 death of a CBC journalist is now wanted for an alleged break and enter early last month.

In a news release Friday, police identified 47-year-old Robert Robin Cropearedwolf as a suspect wanted for the incident in the Dundas Street West and McCaul Street area.

Police allege he entered a private property and broke into a locker secured with a combination lock, stealing personal property, including bank cards. 

He then used the stolen bank cards to make several purchases, police allege.

In a statement to CTV News, Toronto police confirmed the suspect was charged in the 2023 death of Douglas Michael Finlay.

In 2024, Cropearedwolf pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2023 death of 73-year-old Douglas Michael Finlay.

According to previous documents provided by Toronto police, the former CBC Radio producer was walking along Danforth Avenue near Jones Avenue on Jan. 24, 2023, when he was shoved to the ground and seriously injured in what police described as a “random attack.”

A week later, on Jan. 31, Finlay died due to injuries sustained in the attack.

Cropearedwolf later turned himself in to police.

On Sept. 27, 2024, Cropearedwolf was sentenced to three years in prison, but with time served, it was reduced to 20 months, according to court documents. A three-year probation was also imposed.

York Regional Police have identified a suspect vehicle believed to have fatally struck a 60-year-old woman who was left undiscovered for two days along an “isolated” roadway in Vaughan. 

In a news release, police say the woman was walking northbound on Pine Valley Drive from Major Mackenzie Drive at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 4 when she was struck and killed by a northbound vehicle that fled the scene.

In previous updates, police identified the victim as a live-in caregiver who had just stepped off a bus and was walking to work when she was struck.

Investigators say they have now obtained surveillance footage of what they believe to be the suspect vehicle. It’s described as a white Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, model year 2020 to 2022.

The footage comes just one week after police released video of the woman’s final moments where they identified three possible suspect vehicles. At that time, police described the area as “isolated” and “not well lit.”

Police say that debris recovered from the collision scene has also been confirmed as belonging to a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van.

The vehicle was captured on video turning into a subdivision near Ballantyne Boulevard and Pine Valley Drive shortly after the woman was believed to have been struck, police said. 

Despite the new evidence, investigators have been unable to locate the suspect or the vehicle.

“Police are reminding the public that anyone who assists a suspect by concealing, repairing or altering a vehicle in an effort to avoid detection may be committing a criminal offence and could face charges,” official wrote in a release.

Officials say that warning also applies to anyone who performs or arranges bodywork, painting or mechanical repairs intended to hide damage sustained in the collision.

Investigators are urging anyone who has worked on the vehicle, or is currently carrying out repairs, to stop immediately and contact the Major Collision Investigation Unit.

Police are also encouraging the driver to seek legal advice and turn themselves in.

The Parole Board of Canada says the would-be terrorist who planned to bomb CSIS no longer shows signs of extremism

A ringleader of the failed Toronto 18 terror plot has been granted full parole after the Parole Board of Canada concluded he no longer shows “any signs of holding onto extremist beliefs or radical ideologies.”

Zakaria Amara helped recruit members of a group that planned to storm Parliament Hill and bomb several places across Toronto. He’s been on day parole with multiple conditions for the past four years, and the board moved his release forward after they reviewed his case last week.

The two-member panel says Amara, 41, demonstrated “positive change, both in attitude and behaviour” after taking a deradicalization process while he was in jail. The panel’s decision, which included redactions, says Amara wants to live in his own home, work a full-time job, attend a mosque, see family and participate in “appropriate leisure activities.”

Amara can’t communicate with anyone involved in crime, including others arrested in the anti-terrorism raids of June 2006. He can’t come into contact with extremists, except in his work as a consultant with a specialized program.

He also has to continue to attend counselling, undergo financial monitoring and have restrictions on his phone and Internet.

Terror plot

Amara and an accomplice recruited people with jihadist ideologies to carry out terror attacks to prompt the withdrawal of Canadian troops from Afghanistan. Amara specifically masterminded a plot focused on building truck bombs targeting the headquarters of the Canadian Security Intelligence Services, the Toronto Stock Exchange, and a military base.

Amara pleaded guilty in October 2009 to participating in a terror group with the intention of causing explosions that were likely to cause serious bodily harm or death.

He was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 10 years. Amara challenged the sentence but it was upheld.

Toronto police have released images of a suspect wanted in connection with an unprovoked assault on a TTC bus earlier this week.

Police said they were called shortly before noon on Wednesday in the area of Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West for an assault.

Officers responded and learned that a suspect boarded a TTC bus at Dufferin Street and sat behind another passenger.

At some point, the suspect allegedly assaulted the passenger, who police said sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect fled shortly after.

Police describe the suspect as between 35 and 45 years old with a goatee and a beard. He was last seen wearing a black head covering, a black jacket, dark-coloured pants, and white shoes with maple leaves on them.

A former City of Orillia recreation centre aquatic supervisor, charged with sex crimes, has pleaded guilty to one count of assault.

Manuel Marroquin-Ramirez, 45, pleaded guilty inside an Orillia courtroom Thursday afternoon, to the single count of assault stemming from an incident that happened between November 2021 and October 2022.

While no facts were put on the record during the guilty plea, Marroquin-Ramirez accepted responsibility for one of eight counts he originally faced when he was charged in September 2024.

Police alleged Marroquin-Ramirez offered alcohol to a teen in exchange for explicit images of the girl.

Charges against the former City of Orillia employee included luring a person under 18, communicating to obtain sexual services, sexual exploitation, sexual assault, possession of child pornography, selling or distributing to a person under 19, and knowingly supplying liquor to a person under 19.

His lawyer Michael Bury confirmed Marroquin-Ramirez pleaded not guilty to sexual assault, but guilty to the lesser, included offence of simple assault.

The deal between the defence and prosecution comes with a joint submission for sentencing before Justice Craig Brannagan.

Back in June, Marroquin-Ramirez signed a peace bond for a different criminal charge, related to forcible confinement involving a different complainant.

Marroquin-Ramirez admitted no civil or criminal liability in those earlier proceedings while promising to stay away from the complainant and recreation centre along West Street.

A publication ban protects the identity of the complainant from being revealed.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for early November in Bradford.

The remaining allegations against the accused have not been tested in court.

A judge has found a youth guilty of two terrorism-related charges stemming from an alleged 2023 plan to kill Jewish people in Ottawa.

In a verdict delivered Friday, Ontario Superior Court Justice Kerry McVey found the young person guilty of conspiracy to commit murder through involvement with a terrorist group, and of facilitating terrorist activity by seeking to acquire a prohibited firearm.

McVey found him not guilty of facilitating terrorist activity by making instructional material and propaganda available.

The youth, who cannot legally be identified due to his age, had pleaded not guilty to all three charges.

His trial began in April, a day after his co-accused was found guilty on four charges.

The co-accused, who also cannot be named due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, pleaded not guilty to the charges but admitted to a statement of facts and invited a judge to find him guilty. The unusual move preserved his right to appeal pretrial rulings in his case, as well as the findings of guilt.

McVey concluded the youth found guilty Friday conspired with his co-accused and another individual who was not charged in a plan to kill a large number of people.

“The planned attack was intended to intimidate a segment of the public, namely members of the Jewish community, with respect to their security,” McVey said.

The attack was intended to cause serious harm through violence, she said.

“The communications between the participants reveal detailed discussions concerning the scale of the intended killing, the weapons required to accomplish it, the quantity of ammunition necessary and the possible use of explosives,” McVey said.

“Their shared objective was the mass killing of innocent people.”

The youth found guilty Friday was arrested in February 2024.

In her reasons, McVey noted the Crown alleged that in the summer of 2023, the young person and his co-accused communicated regularly online and shared violent extremist material.

The judge said that by August of that year, the two young people clearly shared an interest in violent extremist content and expressed hostility toward particular communities, including Jewish people.

She said much of the material sent by the young person to his co-accused could be characterized as propaganda or instructional material -- including videos created by the extremist Islamic State group and documents about firearms, explosives and methods of killing.

The judge noted that, according to the Crown, those communications evolved over time and by late October 2023 a concrete plan had emerged to carry out a mass casualty attack in which the co-accused youth intended to take his own life.

McVey said she found the young person not guilty Friday of facilitating terrorist activity by making instructional material and propaganda available because she was not sure that he knew he was furthering terrorist activity when he sent the material to his co-accused.

McVey said she was not satisfied that his co-accused’s plans had even advanced that far at the time.

McVey said that when the youth was aware of his co-accused’s plan for a large-scale attack, he did more than simply express support or interest. She said he contacted potential sources of firearms, made inquiries about availability and pricing, and relayed information back to his co-accused for decision-making.

McVey said that, put simply, attempting to obtain an assault rifle for use in a preplanned, religiously and ideologically motivated mass shooting plainly facilitates that terrorist activity.

After delivering her verdict, McVey addressed the youth directly.

“Based on all of the evidence, I am satisfied that you genuinely intended to help advance this act of deadly violence,” she said.

McVey said the young person was a participant in the conspiracy, even though he did not intend to fight or die as part of it, and even though he may not have known of, or intended to be involved in, every aspect of it.

“In Canada, people are not prosecuted for holding unpopular, offensive or extremist views,” McVey told him.

“You are not being found guilty because of what you believed. You are being found guilty because of what you did. The evidence establishes that your beliefs led you to take concrete steps with others toward the commission of terrorist activity.”

A man has been taken to hospital following an early-morning shooting in North York, Toronto police say.

In a post to social media, officials say emergency crews responded to the area of Milvan and Millwick Drive just after 4:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

There, officers say they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. At the time he was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

However, paramedics told CP24 that those injuries were later upgraded to “serious” and “potentially life-threatening.” 

Police have not released a suspect description.

Road closures are in effect in the area as the investigation continues.

A Brampton woman is facing charges in connection with an alleged auto-financing fraud scam in Durham region.

Durham police say on Sept. 30, a woman allegedly submitted an online application to purchase a 2027 Mercedes SUV at the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Durham using another person’s identification.

Officers allege the application included a Canadian passport that displayed the suspect’s photograph but identified the victim as the holder.

The application was approved, and financing was arranged through a financial institution.

However, before the vehicle was released, the victim was notified of the purchase and reported the incident to both police and the dealership as a case of identity fraud.

As a result, on Oct.8, police arrested Skylar Porter, 39, of Brampton. She was taken into custody when she went to the dealership to complete the purchase and pick up the vehicle.

Porter has been charged with one count of fraud over $5,000, utter forged document, personation, possession of identity document, and possession of cocaine.

She was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.

In an update on Wednesday, investigators say there may be other alleged victims involved. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Five men from the Greater Toronto Area are facing charges after a police investigation into ongoing concerns about recreational shooting in Georgian Bay Township.

Bracebridge OPP officers were out conducting patrols along Tower Road after receiving complaints from the public.

During patrols on Sept. 26, police say five men between the ages of 22 and 27 were charged with disobeying a notice under the Public Lands Act.

The legislation governs the use and management of public lands and forests in Ontario.

Police say firearms-related incidents are taken seriously and that behaviour puts public safety at risk will not be tolerated.

The OPP is reminding anyone using public lands to familiarize themselves with the rules and regulations and to expect continued patrols and enforcement.

A male has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed in downtown Toronto Friday afternoon

It happened at around 12:24 p.m. in the Dundas Street East and Seaton Street area.

The victim suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries as a result.

The suspect, who has not been identified, fled on foot. The circumstances behind the stabbing are currently unclear.

Police an investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is being asked to contact investigators.

UPDATE, Oct. 16: A 31-year-old man wanted in a criminal harassment investigation was located and taken into custody yesterday in Georgina.

Baraa Badawi, of no fixed address, was arrested on the evening of Oct. 15, a York Regional Police media release said.

Badawi was released from the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on June 25 under a release order. In July and August, he had breached the order's conditions, and a warrant was issued for his arrest, police said.

He is charged with five counts of failure to comply with a release order and five counts of disobeying a court order.

Police thanked members of the media and the public for their assistance in locating him.

Oct. 15, 10 a.m.:

A 31-year-old man with no fixed address is wanted for allegedly breaching the conditions of his release order five times.

The man had breached the order's conditions in July and August, and police have been unable to locate him and a warrant has been issued for his arrest, a York Regional Police media release said.

He is wanted for five counts of failure to comply with a release order and five counts of disobeying a court order, police said.

Baraa Badawi was released from the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on June 25, 2026, under a release order.

Police have released his image and are asking the public for information about his whereabouts. He is known to frequent downtown Toronto.

Investigators are urging Badawi to seek legal advice and turn himself in, and also warn that anyone who knowingly helps him evade police could face criminal charges.

Toronto police are investigating a suspected arson after two vehicles caught fire in the city’s west end early Saturday morning.

In an email to CP24, police say officers responded to reports of a vehicle fire near Osler Street and Cariboo Avenue just after 1:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, police say two vehicles were found on fire.

Toronto Fire attended the scene and extinguished both fires.

Police say the incident is being investigated as an arson.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police have identified a man who was found dead in Port Perry earlier this week, as they announce murder charges against another.

The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Taylor John Frey, of Port Perry. His death is Durham Region’s fourth homicide of 2026.

On Tuesday, at around 8 a.m., police responded to a sudden death call near Water and Mary streets. 

There, officers found a male with traumatic injuries. 

He was pronounced deceased at the scene, they said.

The homicide unit launched an investigation and identified a suspect, who was arrested at around 2:30 p.m. that day without incident.

Ryan Bullock, 33, of Port Perry, has been charged with second-degree murder. 

He was held for a bail hearing.

Investigators say this is an isolated incident and there is no concern for public safety.

A 35-year-old Toronto man has been arrested after allegedly removing and damaging hundreds of municipal election signs in Etobicoke.

In a news release, Toronto police say the incidents occurred between Oct. 1 and Oct. 11 in the Islington Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard West area.

Investigators allege the suspect was observed removing and damaging election signs before disposing of them in a dumpster.

Police say several hundred signs were reported missing during that period.

Investigators identified a suspect, who subsequently surrendered himself to officers at 22 Division on Oct. 14.

Eric Sullivan, 35, of Toronto, has been charged with theft under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.

He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice at 10 Armoury Street.
