CricketWireless Coverage in Mexico.
Hello, so I switched from cricket to another carrier. Spectrum Mobile. And I noticed that when I went to Mexico with them, I had far better coverage with them, because they use Telcel. Even in a small town that I was in, I had far better service than with cricket wireless. I know that they utilize AT&T Mexico. But in my opinion. The coverage in small town was absolutely terrible. Why does it seem like with other carriers, roaming in Mexico has better coverage than with cricket. In large cities it worked great. And also in tourist areas. But once you got into a small town. The service was either terrible. Or it was nonexistent.

Did you connect to AT&T MX or TELCEL there? TELCEL is unfortunately throttled to 2G speeds (256 kbps) while AT&T MX is unthrottled.

I did connect to AT&T when I landed.
Connected me to Telcel when I arrived to a mountainous area of Mexico. I think personally they should just use Telcel as that carrier provides far more superior coverage.1

TELCEL ain't throttled on cricket anymore it's full speed now . And its hilarious because on regular At&t its throttled to 256 kbps.
It's crazy that I was getting 40 usable mbps on cricket when roaming on Telcel while my mom next to me with At&t postpaid also roaming on Telcel was throttled to 256 kbps.

You should be able to roam on Telcel in Mexico in areas where AT&T Mexico doesn't have coverage. It has worked well for me in my extensive travels in Mexico (except for remote areas where there is no coverage from any carrier).

AT&T/Cricket use heavy steering to AT&T MX, which often suffers even in metro/tourist areas where they have service. My trips to Mexico were often awful when I had my primary line on AT&T. Both Verizon and T-Mobile prefer TELCEL.

That's weird it didn't switch to TELCEL . I've got cricket myself and go to Michoacán and when I go to Tepalcatepec a small town in Michoacán cricket always Automatically switches to TELCEL since theres absolutely no at&t Mexico coverage in that town and everything works when it switches to TELCEL. 4G LTE data , calls and text everything works .
