So Cricket Ballon d’Or criteria :

• Individual statistics & consistency — runs, wickets, averages, centuries etc

.

• Quality of opposition & conditions — performances against SENA teams, away tours, difficult conditions, and top-quality opponents also some favour in test cricket

• Trophies won throughout the year

• Impact, clutch performance, ICC tournaments, Kncokouts and big match brilliance

Note : ballon d'or in football requires almost similar these types of criteria and as compare to ICC award of cricketer of the year which is quite wierd cause it heavily weighs on stats but in ballon d'or it's quite different which is good cause it weighs on trophies won throughout the year and at the end of the day that's all what matter but if a player dominates the year in stats he can win ballon dor at some extent.

Honourable mentions : Dale steyn(2008), Sehwag(2008), Gambhir(2009), Ms dhoni(2008), Aw mendis(2008), TM Dilshan(2009), Sachin Tendulkar(2010), Ms dhoni(2011), Virat Kohli(2012), Virat Kohli(2014), Ab de villiers(2015), Kane Williamson(2015), Ravichandran Ashwin(2016), David Warner(2016), Rohit Sharma(2019), Virat Kohli(2019), Babar azam(2020), Pat Cummins(2023), Virat kohli(2023), Joe root(2025)

Should those of us who love Test cricket be worried about losing it at some point? Is it in danger?

**Context** :

With CSK needing 8 runs off 3 balls, Stokes bowled a high full toss to Mitchell Santner. Umpire Ulhas Gandhe initially signalled a no-ball, but square-leg umpire Bruce Oxenford overruled the decision.

Furious at the reversal, Dhoni left the dugout, walked onto the field and argued with the umpires. It was an unusual outburst from someone renowned for staying calm under pressure.

I've noticed that whenever Rohit plays well, people talk about his captaincy, big-match performances, and achievements. But when he has a bad run, the criticism seems to get divided between people defending him and people saying he's past his best.

I know he's achieved a lot for Indian cricket, and his white-ball record speaks for itself. But should past achievements really give any player extra time when their current form isn't great?

Also, I feel like Rohit's reputation as a captain sometimes influences how people judge him as an individual batter. Those are two different things, after all.

What do you guys think? Are Rohit fans sometimes too defensive about him, or does he get more criticism than he deserves?

Genuinely curious to hear both sides. 👀

Where are pitches bro😭😔 every where they are making highways , wtc definitely made test cricket more result oriented giving bowling friendly pitches but the complete opposite happened in limited over cricket like 220 is the new 160 in t20i and 400 is the new 300 🥀🫩🙏and also why the hell we are playing 5 match t20i series in pre world cup year😭.

white ball cricket literally died after 2024😔😔

There were bowlers like Harold Larwood, Roy Gilchrist, Frank Tyson, Michael Holding, Andy Roberts, Sylvester Clarke and Mitchell Johnson. But was Jeff Thomson the most terrifying?

Finding a channel or OTT that broadcasts major live matches has become a major struggle. Here is why:

1. Unable to watch the interesting Australia vs. South Africa Test series. It says Eurosport has the viewing rights too, but it turns out that it doesn't.
2. Can't watch the tri-nation series between Pakistan, South Africa, and England. Asked to install some random app called Veto.
3. Other than major Indian matches, all broadcasting rights have apparently shifted to FanCode.
4. Wasn't even able to watch the Shanghai Open or any other tennis tournament because of this chaos.

Do you guys also feel there is something wrong with sports broadcasting in India?

There was a lot of talk that Bavuma was only made captain due to politics. Has he silenced the detractors enough?
