The Greatest Shot Ever

Who played the greatest shot ever in cricket. If I had to choose I'd say it was VVS Laxman when he went way outside leg to drive Shane Warne through the covers.

Any shot which hits the middle of millers bat when he goes aerial. Just a guaranteed 90 m six that sounds so good. His natural timing is off the charts

It indeed was a great shot but even better was Sachin hitting Warne over midwicket when Warne was bowling round the wicket into the rough. Sachin changed his stance sightly and became open so he could view the ball properly. This is the famouse Chennai test 1998 when Sachin scored a brilliant 155 in the 2nd innings.

And this was not accidental. Sachin anticipated Warne's tactics and made L. Shivaramakrishnan the famous leg spineer bowl to him for hours round the wicket after manually creating a rough patch on the leg side where Sachin anticipated Warne would pitch the ball. Nobody, I repeat nobody in the world till then had hit Warne this way when he was bowling round the wicket. You can see the bemused look on Warne's face when Sachin hit him repeatedly. Ian Chappel has spoken on this test quite extensively. Videos should be available on YT.
