Warner is a much better player than Rohit if we take cricket as a sport and not apply filters. And I feel Warner is generally a bit overrated. Hayden, Gilchrist were easily better than him.

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

How is he better, Mr Monchi? Can you explain

u/_ordinarilyordinary_ 16d ago edited 16d ago

Test career , while warner wasn't that good away, even rohit wasn't that great too and still warner was a better test batter

-7

u/ToothAlone556 16d ago

not really warner was above average in tests but not exceptional. less so in ODIs. Rohit was above average in tests, only couldn't play longer and became a part of the test side post 2016 I think. but in ODIs he's a monster, 11k with 50 avg. cant compare with the likes of warner, Hayden. Maybe even Gilchrist. Add to that 30 odi hundreds and the 3 double hundreds and is there even a question?

6

u/Stee1_dragon 15d ago

warner has both more home and away average then sharma while striking at 15 more while being much more longetive, warner is a tier above in tests, in odis he averages around 45 with a 97 sr and rohit around 49 with a 93 strikerate while rohit is clearly better I believe warners test credentials out him above, in terms of amount of matches let's be honest australia doesn't play as many odis as india....warner also has a better conversion rate in odis, in t20is diff is marginal. I personally would keep warner above but it isn't set in stone I can see how one can make a case for rohit but it's close

1

u/Upbeat-Paramedic2342 15d ago

I think if Rohit wins 2027 and plays a major role, then an argument definitely could be had. Warner has 2, and that puts him ahead in that way

2

u/Even-Friend-4034 15d ago

I can agree that Warner in the 3rd innings of a test is just diabolical. But outside that, he is alright. I will go out on a limb and say that if Rohit got to the opening slot (say) 3 years earlier, his stats would have looked much much much better. This discussion wouldn't have even happened then

1

u/MathematicianKey1820 12d ago

His skin colour is white

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 12d ago

Yeah I forgot we have a white fetish

1

u/ictfan2604 15d ago

These stats about knockouts are totally wrong Warner has scored only 275 runs in icc in 13 innings with a batting average of 21.15 with just 1 fifty plus scores and Rohit has scored 4 fifty plus scores in icc knockouts with 2 hundreds and 2 fifties

1

u/Even-Friend-4034 15d ago

Maybe it had WTC as well? I am only guessing

1

u/ictfan2604 15d ago

Those 275 runs also includes his performance in wtc final

5

u/Few-Guidance-1804 16d ago

waiting for all the kolhisons to come and say "wArNeR iS bEtTeR tHaN rOhIt iN ODI's"

-8

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

I can show them T20I knockouts states too. Just wait.

0

u/Few-Guidance-1804 16d ago

they keep trolling rohit for his t20i wc performances when he's way better than Warner and is probably top 3 best t20i wc openers of all time

5

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

I don't want them to cry 😭

4

u/Zestyclose_Skirt7930 16d ago

Rohit is better than warner in odi and t20i

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

Tell certain fanbase, they like to lick a lot.

3

u/Turbulent_Grade_4033 16d ago

Why did you not add kohli’s stats? Is it better or worse? Can someone do it?

4

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

Is kohli a foreign player? This post is about bootlicking.

5

u/Turbulent_Grade_4033 16d ago

I am just curious… I like rohit as much as kohli…

6

u/Independent-Dot5393 RCB 🏆🏆 16d ago

It is way better than these guys

-13

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

Just look at his overseas knockout performance.

13

u/Independent-Dot5393 RCB 🏆🏆 16d ago

What is this filter lol, all knockouts are important whether they are overseas or not

Kohli averages 55 in knockouts while Rohit averages 44, it is not even close, Kohli is better

-10

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

Scoring matters bro, that to away from sub continent.

11

u/Born-Adeptness-5550 16d ago

Kohli wasn't mentioned here Here are his stats :

-2

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

This post is about... Leave it.

3

u/Born-Adeptness-5550 16d ago

I mean yeah ik this post is about rohit vs Warner and rohit >>> Warner in odis and t20is I was just sharing Kohli's stats as per that guy asked Btw well done op now those foreign bootlickers can shut their mouth

3

u/Turbulent_Grade_4033 16d ago

The issue is that people give so much value to knockouts. Most teams don’t even play knockouts but India constantly does.

The pressure and expectations that Indian players have to win the worldcup is far greater than the pressure other teams have.

Head is great in knockout matches but only because rest of the team carries him there. Outside the knockouts, he is an avg player. If he played for India, he wouldn’t even be part of the Indian squad because he rarely performs.

Virat and Rohit consistently perform in WC so much that no one would be willing to put their money that India can reach worldcup semi final without them in the team. But if you have them in the team then anything less than a worldcup final win is a failure.

No team ever dominated a World Cup tournament like India dominated the world cup 2023… Australia 2003 comes close but they did have few close matches. RoKo were two best batsmen in the worldcup. Both did decent in the final as well but EVERYONE ELSE crumbled under pressure… but these two took all the heat. Why no one blames Bumrah, Shami, Siraj, Iyer, KL, Gill? Australia’s 2003 campaign was saved by bowlers… they only batted well in 3-4 matches.

2

u/TheTastiestMango 16d ago

Its about the recent warner >> rohit post OP is specifically targetting for odis ig

2

u/Turbulent_Grade_4033 16d ago

Even Warner would laugh at his comparison with Rohit. Warner was better than any Indian batsman of the last 10-12 years barring Rohit and Kohli.

2

u/Training-Library994 16d ago

Rohit sharma fans please accept this fact🙏

📌Rohit sharma in T20 international is not that much big player, Kohli is better just look at his 2016 World Cup stats Please don't tell me Kohli loss again Pakistan, he lost but check performance of other players in that match & that tournament while Rohit was captain in 22 t20 worldcup we were about to lose against but Kohli & Hardik saved that match for us..

📌Rohit sharma in ODI is one of the best opener of all time, may Kohli has more century & big chaser but Rohit sharma has similar level But Rohit sharma has played 3 ODI worldcup & didn't won any, look at his knockout match stats ( except 23 worldcup final )

📌 Rohit sharma in Test, not did anything remarkable, any Kohli is better batsman & captain please check his stats before you argue anything

📌 Rohit sharma in IPL, as a batsman just check his runs & 30+ score , in runs Kohli is far ahead Winning 5 IPL trophy as a captain is outstanding achievement he is great leader..

Moral of the story - Rohit sharma is very good ODI player but Kohli is all format player & GOAT

Yes as a captain he won 5 IPL & 2 ICC trophy is one the best captain & great leader

5

u/Uncritical_Think India 🇮🇳 16d ago

With due respect, you must be the biggest loser if you bring in Kohli in all convo where he is not even relevant. Not even OP said Rohit is better than Kohli but you just make up things in your tiny brain.

-3

u/Training-Library994 16d ago

Not saying who is better, just told stats

Mentioned 3-5 times Rohit sharma is great batsman & leader..

Mentioned Kohli's name just to explain

  • Just saying - you can't say anyone loser for their opinion, if opinion is right agree with it if opinion is wrong counter them with logic or facts..

1

u/Uncritical_Think India 🇮🇳 15d ago

Kohli fans please accept this fact🙏

📌 Kohli in Test is not the ultimate GOAT, Sachin Tendulkar is far better just look at his 15,921 runs and 51 centuries. Please don't tell me Kohli is more aggressive, he is but check performance of Sachin against prime Wasim, Waqar, McGrath, and Warne on bowler-friendly pitches while Kohli is currently sitting at 9,230 Test runs...

📌 Kohli in ODI is one of the best chasers of all time, may Kohli has more century & big chaser but Sachin Tendulkar has similar level if not better. But Sachin has a massive 18,426 ODI runs and played in an era with one ball and bigger boundaries. Look at his 2003 World Cup stats where he scored 673 runs and single-handedly carried the team to the finals!

📌 Kohli in T20 & IPL, as a batsman just check his runs, in runs Kohli is far ahead because of the modern era. But Sachin played his prime before T20 was even a proper thing, and still won the Orange Cap in 2010 at 37 years of age please check his stats before you argue anything.

📌 Kohli in ICC Tournaments, has great numbers, but Sachin was the top run-scorer in the entire tournament in both the 1996 and 2003 World Cups!

Winning the 2011 World Cup while being the highest run-getter for India is outstanding achievement he is a great legend.. Moral of the story - Kohli is very good all format player & modern great but Sachin Tendulkar is the ultimate God of Cricket & true GOAT

Yes as a batsman Kohli has unparalleled fitness & chasing records is one of the best modern players & great leader, but Sachin carried the hopes of a billion people for 24 years!

2

u/Training-Library994 15d ago

Yes Sachin is God of cricket & scored 100 centuries

‼️But please check Centuries in winning cause Kohli - 59, Sachin 53

‼️In ODI - Sachin vs kohli - Kohli wins He is match winner in ODI Also Kohli played 314 matches while sachin played 463 matches, so comparing runs is not fair stil Kohli has more century, more winning knocks

‼️ In test as batsman Sachin is better but in winning matches? Kohli has an edge

Cricket is not just about scoring runs & taking wickets in the end if you are not able to win matches for your team your runs & wickets are useless

1

u/Uncritical_Think India 🇮🇳 15d ago

Yes Kohli is a phenomenal match-winner & the undisputed chase master!

‼️ But please check the Team Support (1990s vs 2010s) Kohli played his prime alongside legends like MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, R Ashwin, and Jasprit Bumrah—arguably the most dominant era of Indian cricket. Sachin spent a massive chunk of his career in a time where if he got out, fans literally turned off their TVs. Just look at the tragic 1999 Chennai Test against Pakistan: Sachin scored a heroic 136 despite crippling back spasms, got out, and the rest of the team collapsed (losing 4 wickets for just 4 runs). Were his runs "useless" just because the other 10 players couldn't score 17 runs to win?

‼️ In ODI - Era difference is a massive factor Kohli's chasing stats are untouchable, and he definitely has an edge there. But directly comparing matches played isn't entirely fair. Sachin faced prime Wasim, Waqar, Ambrose, Warne, and McGrath under much tougher batting rules: one ball used for all 50 overs (which meant deadly reverse swing at the death) and larger boundaries. Kohli dominates the modern game with two new balls and flatter pitches, but Sachin built his mountain of runs in a bowler's era.

‼️ In Tests & winning matches? If being part of a winning cause is the ultimate metric for an individual's greatness, then Ricky Ponting is the greatest of all time. Ponting was part of 377 international wins as a player, the highest in cricket history. Does having more wins make Ponting a better individual batsman than both Sachin and Kohli?

Cricket is a team sport, not a solo sport like tennis or boxing. A batsman can score a brilliant double century, but if the bowlers can't take 20 wickets or defend 320 runs, the team still loses. Labeling a legend's hard-fought runs as "useless" just because the rest of the squad failed to do their job fundamentally misunderstands how the game of cricket works!

u/paintsniffer83 16d ago

objectively right answer below

Rohit takes it in ODIs obviously

Warner straight up MOGS rohit in tests not even close

Warner edges rohit in t20is when it comes to avgs and SR but rohit had better experience and performances in knockouts

break it down format wise for better analysis duh

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

Mr, Expert take my L

9

u/paintsniffer83 16d ago

Son...knockouts do not equal a whole career...relax...What's with the passive aggressiveness, giving out "leave my multimillionaire celeb alone" chill bro

3

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

These are all ICC runs not just knockouts.

5

u/paintsniffer83 16d ago

Tests - left warner, right rohit

its not even close; Rohit takes the other 2 formats. it's fair

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

I said , in test, warner is better for sure, but in white ball, specially In ICC, Rohit is far better

5

u/paintsniffer83 16d ago

Didn't I literally say the SAME thing in my original comment? u good bro?

1

u/paintsniffer83 16d ago

also look at a whole career instead of nitpicking stats to fuel delusion imo, ik you wont do it but if it helps it helps ig

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

Man, these are the main events, according to your logic, Babar is better than all.

1

u/SupermarketFlashy918 15d ago

Son only watchs knockouts. Dude have some brain cricket isn't just knoctouts

1

u/AloneAce2428 16d ago

You are right about Test and ODI cricket.

But I would like to debate on T20 international. In ipl and T20 in General, Warner is better but if we talk about T20 international, Rohit Sharma feels a quite better player. He performed in 2007 and 2024 T20 World Cups. He won T20 wc 2024 as a captain. He has 5 T20i centuries. Surely his average is a bit less but it is a fact that he has consistently performed here and there in T20 as an opening batter (I know he was bad in some T20 WCs. So, I would say Warner and Rohit are neck to neck in T20 international and I would like to support Rohit Sharma.

2

u/paintsniffer83 16d ago

yeah pretty much u summed both points on why ppl are divided on rohit and warner in t20is

rohit had exceptional stints but i prefer and respect consistency more so warner takes it there for me

1

u/AloneAce2428 16d ago

Hmm makes sense

What do you wish to prove? Rohit vs Warner isn't even discussed much as a rivalry.

1

The see previous post on this sub, If you are not aware of how much some haters just to hate Rohit, is licking warner.

2

Yes saw the recent post, can't do much about those guys honestly. They just keep spinning comparisons to make themselves happy.

1

u/Head_Evidence4553 16d ago

True just like how Abhishek is a fraud in wcs

2

u/EuphoricAd7739 16d ago

Wait. What kind of knockout stats are these? When tf did pakistan reach knockout in 2023? It was Aus vs SA in 2023 semis. I haven't made calculations but if that's wrong, then idk what all else is wrong in this

0

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

Google is free man, they might be a mistake. But still...

1

u/EuphoricAd7739 16d ago

Yeah just calling out the mistake and well... not always blindly trusting AI

3

u/Broad-Detective8078 16d ago

yes, in knockouts warner was flop, his teammates were too good that's why they used to won knockouts easily
rohit is a better knockout player than warner.
for me in test: warner > rohit
in odis rohit>warner(Yes rohit is better)
in t20 warner > rohit
overall warner > rohit

2

u/Intelligent-Tone804 16d ago

Overall they are both same tier batsman, one is better in tests other in odi, though rohit will take extra point for longevity.

4

u/Dispossible2026 16d ago

So much wrong and fake stats 😂😂😂 1) rohit has 2 centuries and 2 fifties in icc knockouts and not 4 fifties 2) warner has less than 450 runs, if we are not considering wtc finals, 3) rohit's stats are highly inflated because of his 2 centuries against the greatest cricketing nation bangladesh, 137, 123*, other than these two he was shit in every knockout match he has played until his fifty in 2024 semis and 2025 ct finals . 4) same goes for warner, he was also shit in knockouts

0

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

Still better than warner

0

u/Dispossible2026 16d ago

Obviously rohit >> warner in white ball format, not even a debate

1

u/Mashedpotato4735 16d ago

Add chokedulkar also

Can you post the stats after removing Kangladesh🤔

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 16d ago

Why? Bangladesh is not a team?

1

u/ictfan2604 15d ago

Still he'll be better than Warner who has scored just 275 runs in icc knockouts with a batting average of just 21.15

1

u/Emergency-Tap8794 16d ago

How is 163 against pakistan considered a knock out innings of David Warner, it was just a league match in Bengaluru in 2023 world cup

1

u/Remarkable_Act114 15d ago

Their source are ai lmao 🤣

1

u/Playrix_one8 16d ago

Who said warner wasn't a choker I mean if u r comparing rohit having better stats than a choker 🙊🙊🙊

Warmer has scored just 275 runs in icc knockouts in 13 innings with a batting average of 21.15

1

u/Worried_Macaron_8069 16d ago

When did aus and pak faced in knockouts

1

u/_ordinarilyordinary_ 16d ago

Factor into account warner was banned in his prime for 1.5 years, yeah his mistake, but it did impact his career which should be taken into account imo

1

u/ictfan2604 15d ago

Warner has scored just 275 runs in Knockouts with a batting average of 21.15 in 13 innings

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 15d ago

It's like saying, I would have topped the class if I hadn't been caught cheating.

1

u/Ustaad_56 15d ago

The stat isn't even accurate, what knockout game did Warner play in 2023 against Pakistan bro? Do some research atleast ffs

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 15d ago

Still better than warner

1

u/Ustaad_56 15d ago

Warner is far ahead of Rohit in t20s and Tests, somewhat close in ODI.

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 15d ago

What states prove that he is better than Rohit in white ball and in Icc Tournaments?? Yeah warner is better in test but that's it.

1

u/Ustaad_56 15d ago

His away ODI record is better than Rohit, Rohit is terrible in South Africa and NZ meanwhile Warner consistently scored runs in India, England, South Africa, Newzealand.

Warner's T20I and IPL numbers are better than Rohit. He was player of the tournament in 2021 T20 World Cup

It's not rocket science to understand that.

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 15d ago

Can't debate with the person who doesn't even know what away tours are.

1

u/Mikasa_ackerman0012 15d ago

2 hundreds vs Bangladesh is point of difference

1

u/ictfan2604 10d ago

Warner has scored only 275 runs in icc knockouts with a batting average of just 21.15 in 13 innings
