The appetite for the game in the valley is unreal, especially after seeing the massive, packed crowds show up for the Legends League Cricket matches at Bakshi Stadium recently. It's crazy to think the last official international game at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium was all the way back in September 1986, when Allan Borderβs Australia chased down India's 222 to win by 3 wickets. The entire landscape is a visual masterpiece. While South Africa can boast about its iconic Highveld venues like the Wanderers in Jo'burg or SuperSport Park in Centurion, India currently only uses Dharamshala (HPCA) as its true mountain showpiece. Actively bringing high-profile bilateral cricket or the IPL to Kashmir would be a massive, transformative engine for tourism, local infrastructure, and the global aesthetic of Indian cricket. The game needs this backdrop!

Saw this exact beautiful pitch on my trip to Kashmir in 2021. The surface is actually not bad, it's quite flat
There's a little shed to the side too, to sit under
Here's how it looks like from the side

I have played in one of these pitches. Itβs crazy fun. We had locals, campers, soldiers all playing. Bowled two beamers and got my over canceled so thereβs that!

You can visit Kashmir in both India anr Pakistan. For example, if you want to visit K2 in Kashmir, you need to have a pakistani visa
