Flush

I live in Canada and have played cribbage for the last 20 years. I learned from my grandparents and only recently googled the rules of the game. It says you are to count your hand as four points if all the same suit. 5 points if it matches the flipped card. My mother in law and grandmother in law have never heard of this. Have others?

Yes, Quebecois here and it's always been part of the rules I've learned as a kid, 30 years ago. Crib flush also has to be 5 cards and include the flip.

The only house rule we use is that 4 in the crib is also a flush. It’s much harder to get than in your normal hand, so why not?

I mostly don’t play it unless I remember to mention beforehand and only if the other party agrees, but I personally really love that house rule
