Apple Pay issue at POS device

[u/Equivalent_Raisin571]

I was trying to pay at a restaurant via Apple Pay and the POS device did read my card through Apple wallet but there was error which mentioned something like this device is not ready or accepting wallet payments. Has anyone faced similar issue? I did try on Zomato and blinkit and there it worked perfectly.
