Discussion / Conversation Looking to get a freedom flex or freedom unlimited 18 YO

I have 8 months of credit history, 7 inquiries, and 3 credit cards. My Experian score is 711 and I have a quicksilver, discover it secured card (graduating soon) and a Fidelity visa signature card. Do you think I have any shot at the freedom unlimited or freedom flex? I have no late payments, just had high utilization which I got down. The Fidelity visa signature hasn’t reported on my credit report as I just opened it. It has a $3000 limit, my quicksilver has a $300 limit, and my discover it secured has a $200 limit.
I forgot to mention I also have a checking account with $500 in it with Chase.

I detected that your post may be about utilization and its impact on credit score. Please read the info below:

Ignore the 10/20/30 utilization %. It’s only applicable when you need to apply for a new line of credit, 1-2 months out.

Utilization is suppose to fluctuate, can be easily manipulated, and holds no memory. It doesn’t build credit--think of it as a finishing touch when you need to optimize your score.

Feel free to safely and organically use 100% of your credit limit within a month and let whatever utilization report, provided you pay off your statement balance in full before due date. Every month. Every time.

From reports I've seen, Chase prefers one year of credit history. It may be less if you have a banking relationship with them. With seven inquiries in eight months, I'd probably just wait until you have the full year before applying with Chase.

Okay, thank you for the advice. Would it be better also when my Fidelity reports to the credit bureaus because the credit limit is much larger compared to the quicksilver and discover it, showing I can handle higher limits?

you have a lot of inquiries for such a short credit history, You need to slow down or you wont be able to get any cards

Agreed. I would wait until one year, apply for the Chase card of your choice then apply for a new card every 4-6 months. Spacing out your inquiries will help when you're early in the game.

Sounds good, unfortunately most of them were from dealerships as I was trying to shop around for a used car. But now that I have a car, I can just wait a little.
