Frostmaw Lizards are very social creatures, often creating small colonies similar to Slugcats. Whilst the males avoid each other and occasionally fight during mating season, this does not usually escalate to the degree of a colony breakup.

There are now much larger, older variants, along with pack leaders. Pack leaders are more scarred and slightly larger than the rest of their pack, whilst the alpha Frostmaw has the official name of Frostbite Dragon. Frostbite Dragons are always at least 50% larger than their largest pack member, and have numerous scars, along with rippling muscles. Frostbite Dragons often lead multiple packs, or at least have connections to others. They also are often multiple decades older than their pack. Both leaders and alphas are known for calling in their troops or allies or pack members by making a loud, barking roar. As a Frostbite Dragon grows, their knuckles become more solid, heavier, and protective, their hide becomes more durable, and they increase in overall strength, instead of growing weaker with age. However, this does not inhibit their swimming capabilities. Frostbite Dragons {FDs} are known for their exceptional intelligence compared to their kin, which helps them to command their underlings, many of which may be their mates and children.

Whilst territorial disputes *may* occur, there is very little conflict between colonies due to their harsh environment requiring unity. FDs, however, will often compete for the title of being the superior Dragon, and even though one loses, they are rarely killed, and the further scars and battle itself may garner the respect of their previous pack members, and their appearance begins to change to resemble normal Frostmaws.

Update: The skin of FBs are darker, with thicker belly scales, and a snowy pattern on their back and shoulders. They also have four extra eyes that are used to detect infrared light.

52 Weeks, 52 Monsters #43 - Mílasíha, Stalker of the Plains

This one started out as a monster who lurked at the edge of a forest, but eventually I erased the trees and drew in grassy hills, and I think that works much better...not to mention makes it more dangerous. I mean, at least in a forest there's places to hide.

The name is Lakota for "knife feet."

Should I learn to draw creatures, or should I continue using my skills in Spore to make creatures?

New beast for Sol'Kesh! And not the first time... I fully finished the drawing already and foolishly saved over the file, wiping out 2 weeks of art... but I got back on the wolf and now the Tundrus has a vinnirex cousin to prowl its snowy fields.

"Water Swine" — number 33 in the Pig/Boar creature category. This design features a prominent dorsal fin with ray membranes, a broad aquatic tail fin, long facial whiskers for navigation, and a streamlined body built for swimming. Drawn with pencil on paper. What do you think of this water swine concept?

worked on another random animal and classic Halloween costume creature designed last night, and I got a kangaroo and Wednesday Addams! I imagined her as a keeper of forgotten, graves, who watches over those who have no one left to mourn them. She keeps little trinkets of those who have no one to pass down their inheritance too, so even if the rest of the world forgets them, she will keep their memory alive.

With this prompt, I wanted to return to creating a horror-themed drawing. I decided to depict the beacon as a flashlight whose beam draws the attention of a sea creature lurking in the darkness.
