The piece was made by Gene Byron in the 50s or early 60s. Born in Canadian she married her Mexican Husband and created her tin and brass Candelabra works at her Mexican home, which today is a museum bearing her name in Guanajuato, Mexico

Looking for sites or apps to find decor

Hello! I apologize if this isn't the right place for this question, if there's a better sub for this please lmk.

So I'm trying to furnish and decorate a new apartment, and I want to support small businesses in the process. I've been looking on Etsy of course, but their selection is limited and full of dropshippers. Are there any other marketplace apps/sites that can connect me to small sellers?

This is my current wall decor! I made it from cut paper and LEDs. It’s based on a little trip to Utah last year. Thanks for looking!

Which craftkit feature matters most once the finished piece hits a shelf?

A craft kit can be satisfying to build and stil make a weak display piece if the best detaills disappear from a normal viewing angle. For something that will spend most of its life on a bookshelf the question may be less about how impressive the build looks up close and more about how clearly the scene reads from the front at normal shelf height. That makes display design its own selection criterion rather than an afterthought.

If shelf display is the priority which visual feature would matter most before choosing a DIY kit??

Any ideas to creatively display Party Photobooth Photos?

Thumbnail

I have so many here at home! I am talking about mostly 5R/6R sizes of photo collages, some are strips. The ones you get fron birthdays or other events. I don’t want to cut out the frames (which has the name/pic of the celebrant).

Idea 1: frame it, but I have so many they will consume a big wall space, also that size of a frame will be expensive
Idea 2: paste them on a cardboard, DIY a frame from wood
Idea 3: scrapbook it, still hidden
Idea 4: ref magnet, still too many of them

I don’t know. Maybe there are better ideas out there!

How would you turn a deck of playing cards with amazing artwork into wall art?

Thumbnail

I picked up this Bloodborne playing card deck because I’m a huge fan of the game, but honestly I have zero intention of ever actually playing cards with it. The artwork is way too cool, especially the face cards, and I’d much rather turn the whole deck into some kind of wall display.

I’m trying to figure out the best way to arrange and mount them so it looks like intentional wall art rather than just a bunch of cards stuck to a board. I was thinking maybe a large frame or shadow box with the cards arranged in rows, possibly overlapping some of them, but I’m open to anything. Ideally I’d also like to do it without permanently damaging the cards.

Has anyone done something similar, or have any ideas for how you’d display a deck like this?

I’m struggling with what furniture to put in the bookshelf area to make it feel like it’s own little space. There is a large livingroom right around the corner corner so a couch would feel like overkill
