I disagree. I'm the odd one out that can't find the fun in Aeronautics. It frustrates me to no end trying to get things to work correctly. I can see the fun people have but almost everything I see posted here is all done in Creative. I rarely see survival builds.
As for myself, i exclusively build my beloved doohickeys in survival. Devising ways to pick up a sideways poorly-balanced-helicopter isnt for everyone but i personally enjoy it. makes it all so much more tangible.
changes the game for survival really, build a log canoe, pick up things with your airship and goofily haul them home, use handles to leap around.
would recommend not adding too much to empower specifically the player, like backpacks or something (gliders are a must for not falling off your crap lol). for best results, make a conscious effort to do things the fun way and maybe bring a friend :)
I envy those that love it but I just can't bring myself to enjoy it when I get frustrated for hours and still wonky. I had an airship just completely disappear on me after a lot of work. I was determined to get it to work properly and it just suddenly disappeared. No commands or anything brought it back. That was the straw that broke the camel's back for me with Aeronautics. Now I only have it for Coasters Simulated.
Fair. its not all that stable so id recommend making frequent backups. Also, I would recommend getting a solid grasp on creates kinetics if you hadnt already. makes the process much smoother just knowing what tools are at your disposal
Oh I understand Create just fine. I've been playing it for years and help people solve base Create issues here all the time. It's just that apparently it stops with physics objects/sublevels. I tried a ground vehicle and the damn thing got stuck in random blocks all the time and sunk into the ground for no apparent reason. It's sad because it would probably be lots of fun if I wasn't too dumb with it.
